Cómeme label has been specifically formed to highlight artists making dance music in South America. The tracks on the label are inspired and built for their Buenos Aires based Bumbumbox street parties, where makeshift sound systems are built from linked together ghetto blasters. The tracks are tested at the parties, so the music on these records is typically tough, with a South American flavour, there is no place for the cold 4/4 engineering of minimal techno which is primarily made with expensive soundsystems in mind, these tracks are about chunky rhythm, melody and colour, built to cut through under any circumstances without pandering to cliché.
DANIEL MALOSO - RITMO ESPECIAL Daniel Maloso is from Monterrey, Mexico. He co-produced Rebolledo's first 12", the fabulous "venganza y seducción". The track here reaches back to EBM, combining a repetitive analogue sequencer bass line and metallic handclaps with sighing vocoders and Daniel Maloso's mannered mcing. Already a popular track with the comeme djs for it's simple punchy intensity.
MATIAS AGUAYO - VENENO "Veneno" means poison and the repeated chant of "que saque el veneno" means 'bring out the poison', a chant that Santiago de Chile crowds shout over this track. It's easy to see why, as the punchy heads down mix of midrange kicks and pitched down bassy toms build under dark tango inspired synths, increasing the dance floor intensity and making bodies move.
CHRISTIAN S - JAGOS Long time collaborator Christian S is the only european artist to release on Cómeme. He is a dj from Cologne who has also collaborated for a long time with Matias Aguayo, with the 'lost' parties. Jagos, is already Comeme classic, noted for it's simplicity, a thuggish single note baseline and walking speed drums, one dubbed out drum note repeated and tweaked and a high pitch one note sound for contrast, work together to give this track a unique feeling.
REBOLLEDO ft. RAQUEL WOLFF - CAMINANDO In this track Rebolledo introduces young singer Raquel Wolff. "Caminando" means "walking" and she describes walking from the countryside to the city. It's a charming track, Raquel's wavering child voice over tough claps and a bleeping bass note, that sounds lush and resonant despite the novelty.
