SALES NOTES

DAP, also known as Daniel Poli, Andrea Mazzini and Philippos Nikiforakis, mans the controls for this impressive tech house EP, 'Brush Your Lips' - 4 cuts of irresistibly groovy, no-nonsense, stripped back house, featuring Lance De Sardi on vocal duty for the title track.

Thankfully the clever people at Rekids have seen to the studio magic created by DAP back in 2004 getting a well-deserved re-release and ‘Brush Your Lips’ is an immaculate batch of cuts with fresh addition ‘Little Deeper’ hitting just the right spot.

Kicking off with moody sub bass and a naughty analogue groove that locks you in from the start, A-side ‘Brush Your Lips’ is a compelling slice of rumbling tech, transfixed by the dark sleazy tones of Lance De Sardi and set against an eerie backdrop of steamy moans and cinematic distortions. B-side ‘Little Deeper’ does exactly that with shimmering pads whilst driven by the same tough edge mixed with a deep serenity. A dream inducing, percussive roller, it’s a groove to get lost in.

The DAP project was born when after countless discussions about getting in the studio to do something (as they would put it) “different”, Daniel Poli, Andrea Mazzini and Philippos Nikiforakis finally joined their creative force. Daniel has been running labels, spinning records and releasing music (under various guises and collaboration outfits) since 1989 and met Andrea at Croydon based label Swag Records where he was working as a sound engineer and label manager at the time. Andrea’s passion for house and techno had led him to leave hometown of Rome where he’d been DJing in the late 90s, ending up at Swag Records. Greek export Philippos met Daniel in Greece where he was a DJ and underground rave promoter but moved to London to study audio engineering.
