Seth Troxler offers up the next installment in a lauded series of 12”s on his no nonsense, club-focused imprint Play It Say It. With previous releases coming from Butch, The Mekanism and Steve Lawler, next in line is a new addition to the roster: Leonardo Gonnelli.

Based in Florence, Leonardo Gonnelli has recently release on Defected and has also on Dirtybird, Snatch Off, Suara and Deeperfect. Throughout, the Italian native has consistently pedalled a sound heavily indebted to 90’s Acid House and Detroit Techno and it’s this in conjunction with a sound understanding of how to work a dancefloor that aligns him perfectly with the ethos of Play It Say It.

‘Tonada’ is a rich, hypnotic dance floor track propelled by clever sequencing that has it twisting and turning throughout. Arresting Spanish vocal passages punctuate progress while a circling sequence tumbles through the mix. The Dub version then omits the vocals in favour of distant whispers and caps off another solid addition to the Play It Say It series.
