I WANT TO SAY IT!

THANK YOU LORD! OH, THANK YOU!

Spiritual energy is one of a kind. It’s pure, eternal, and soothing. Spiritual energy positively impacts 9 to 5 office workers, athletes and artists alike. A strong spiritual grounding, no matter what religion, is the essence of happiness and positivity.

“You Are Everything” from the forthcoming album, “Louie Vega Starring…” features Jocelyn Brown, an infinitely talented singer and staple of r&b, soul and dance music. The single is a powerful exaltation of our protagonist’s deep appreciation for her Lord that she wants the world to hear. And let us tell you...with Jocelyn’s golden pipes...the message comes across loud and clear!

She comments, “This song is a deliverance song. It expresses all that you feel in your heart and soul. I am from the Pentecostal Church and when you give praise for your life, you’re giving him thanks for being everything to me. I know that when folks hear this song, their days will be blessed and overjoyed!”

Jocelyn and Louie Vega go way back, “Louie and I have known each other for a long time! He was introduced to me by Jellybean Benitez. Louie and I worked on his first projects together and we have had some beautiful success. So Louie gave me a call to let me know he was doing a new album and he wanted me to be a part of it. Naturally, I was over the moon!”

This time around they find themselves collaborating on the Vega-produced “You Are My Everything” for his latest album. Brown beams with excitement as she talks about the Master of House’s strong predilection for inspiring creativity in others, “Louie has a way that allows you to show who you are and your gift! He introduces the song to you, gives you his thoughts and let's you go! He is a singer’s producer!”

Any house music and nightlife fan can immediately taste the notes of a classic Vega production upon pressing play. And with the lyrics, melody and background arrangements of Josh Milan, the single is a hit.

Vega starts you off with a slow sizzle followed by a steady but patient uptempo beat. Electric piano grooves beautifully coat the slow buildup with a layer of sophistication. Vega’s friend, Cindy Mizelle curated the background vocals, which feature herself, James “D Train” Williams, Sharon Anderson, Paulette McWilliams and Jocelyn Brown. Amidst the frenzy of all these intertwining vocals, there is peace. All the elements are so carefully pieced together that you fail to notice the song ascent. You just want to dance! Afterwards, you’re left wondering, “Wait! What just happened?”

The song features the all star cast of David Morales, Jocelyn Brown, James “D Train” Williams, Sharon Anderson, Paullette McWilliams, Cindy Mizelle, Selan Lerner (keyboards), Josh Milan (keyboards), and Gene Perez (bass).

And what would a Louie Vega single release be without a little help from his friends. Vega calls upon good friend, NYC legend and King of House, David Morales to create a remix that has the energy to rip any dance floor apart. Morales’ mash-up remix is comprised of a Vega remix of Free by Rhyze (Nervous Records) and Jocelyn’s powerful vocals. David contributed another version to this special release, “Morales Tribute to Frankie Knuckles Remix.” Frankie Knuckles, the famed pioneer of House Music passed away in 2014, but his legacy, impact and influence is felt all over the world. The defining moment of this tribute is the opening piano ballad that will fill any room with emotion and love. The impact Frankie Knuckles had on the dance music community worldwide is apparent and inspiring.

This is the level of curation and devotion that has become synonymous with Louie Vega. Brown perfectly encapsulates his unique ability, “He makes new musical concepts happen, like getting the Winans Brothers and the Clark Sisters together and combining house and funk with George Clinton, Funkadelic and Kendrick Lamar. Not to mention bringing Tito Puente, George Benson and myself together to collaborate. Who else can pull that off?

Be sure to pick up a digital and vinyl copy of Louie Vega’s remix of Jocelyn Brown’s “You Are Everything” at select distributors and Vega Records.
