SALES NOTES

Crosstown Rebels get set to unleash the power of The Model feat. My Favourite Robot with a vampish feast of 80s proto-house in ‘Still In My Heart’ followed by a playful epic rework from Ivan Smagghe and a dose of warped late night techno courtesy of two mesmerising Brett Johnson remixes.

The Model makes a storming entrance into the Crosstown camp with the original of ‘Still In My Heart’ spinning a circus of 80s inspired melodies, rave synths, techy bleeps and stabbing bass. My Favourite Robot’s soul-penetrating vocals nonchalantly weave a darker thread through the dizzy heights of electro styling’s supplying a vein of moody romance.

Emerging from the deeper recesses of the night comes Brett Johnson’s eerily melodic techno ‘Still In My Heart 4am Remix’, a huge club record that warps the mind with its’ wonky chimes and druggy motion and feeds the body with firm kicks and sub bass dirt. Searing synths and spooky FX tear through the toughness and engage the soul in their haunting ascent.France’s king of electronica Ivan Smagghe lends his genre-bending flair to his ‘Still In My Heart Remix’ with an epic building of quirky 8-bit sounds, filtered vocals, and breakdown of hypnotic beats.

Hailing from Romania, The Model is an eccentric show man imparting his distinctive blend of edgy electro and baroc techno on the world with a string of successful releases behind him on labels International Deejay Gigolos Berlin, Underl_ne London and Traum and a fierce reputation for rocking the stage. Canadian duo Jared Simms and Voytek Korab, AKA My Favorite Robot, one of Toronto’s finest hottest exports, are following in the footsteps of Art Department to join the Crosstown clan and stamp their fresh electronic vision on the package.
