Glaswegian producer Alex Smoke returns to R&S Records with an EP of steely, obtuse techno. It might his most dance floor intended release for some time, and shows the producer delivering thudding kicks on 'LSD', that are nonetheless manipulated to give a strangely cosmic, tripping effect (as the track's title of course implies). Throughout the rest of the release the music is kept heavy, but Smoke's lightness of touch as a producer and knack for worming unexpected elements onto the 4/4 techno template makes this release stand out from the industrial techno clatter.
