If you’ve ever heard a crunching Roland system 100 bass line ringing in your ears at 5.00am in the morning, there is a good chance that it has been written by Andy Meecham. Whether as Emperor Machine, Sir Drew, Chicken Lips or even Bizarre Inc his music rolls and waves in incredible ways and sheds light on all the probable combinations of familiar sounds.
He’s always communicating with his own well-developed sense of freedom and rebellion away from conventionality.
In the milieu where most other producers tend to lose their identity in order to conform to the ever changing vogues in electronic music, he has demonstrated a laudable integrity of style and therefore each of his songs carries a distinct undercurrent of vintage analogue elements.
Morning Banger is certainly a hot potato! Upon the first listen you’re hooked in with the slightly aggressive Korg Delta drawing you in. The track builds and builds into a crescendo of beautiful tension and before you know it your brain is eagerly awaiting the next step of the journey.
Face Down is the classic sound of the Meecham studio! A big bouncy bass, romantic chords and melody everywhere you look or hear. We even added extended drums of Morning Banger on the 12” for the real DJ’s and already we’ve received positive vibrations about this music from Andrew Weatherall an exceptional DJ with good taste!!
