Baham is a coming ‘together’ in the creation of a shared experience, a musical partnership between friends, an artistic expression of a collective. A multimedia project led by the Montreal based The Doctors, the duo of Houman Farzin & Kam Kafi bring together elements of folk music reinterpreted through electronica.
Their ‘You Are Simin’ EP for Blond:ish’s ABRACADABRA will tickle your technicolour senses, and with an added remix from Gab Rhome & Adisyn, another spiritually effecting release enters the ABRACADABRA catalogue.
“We found this amazing track on an old Persian western record, and the main verse says "You are the one", and we thought how poetic to use that as our first release. It was like it chose us or itself for this. The Shahre-farang that was designed by Maryam inspired this idea of a glimpse into a foreign world, where here we are offering everyone a glimpse into our culture in a playful manner. Our good friend, Ali Sabet, then gave us one of his script drawings with a focal female character after hearing our track, and she became the one. Simin”, Baham explain the title track, which Gab Rhome & Adisyn ably add some bottom end and a more driving rhythm to on their exceptional remix.
Collaborating with Mahmood Schricker on ‘Call It Love’, Baham describe their collaborator as “...a next-level character who makes some pretty eclectic music. He plays multiple instruments and has this next-level character who makes some pretty eclectic music.
