Ben Caldwell in another enormous talent from Newcastle who’s about to break through, and it gives us enormous pleasure to be able to present his first ever full release.
Formerly the housemate of Me Me Me alumnus, Elliot Adamson, Ben has a similarly iconoclastic approach to stitching together musical genres, but manages to sound entirely distinct from any other artist we can think of.
Over 3 tracks Ben takes us from full throttle dance floor destruction with the raved up “Sixteen”, to Driving techno via “Impernum”, and finishes on on heart wrenching melodic Balearia with “Bub"
Remixer come courtesy of Wes Baggaley and Jaye Ward, 2 DJs who deserve to be even more well known, and that we think are amongst the best in London, if not the world.
While neither is well known for their production output, we’ve been determined to get them in a studio to see how their impeccable individual tastes would translate in to new material, and the results exceeded even our high expectations.
Wes twists “Impernum" in to a heads-down floor-plan-esque techno-slammer. whereas Jaye takes “Bub” down the rabbit hole, with her “Deep Bump” version
