As one of Australia's pioneer techno DJs, Peter, aka ’Biz’, has been a key player in the evolution of the underground techno movement. His passion for the art form, which ignited in the early eighties when he purchased his first set of turnta-bles, is rivalled by few. His ability to work the dance floor with his soulful, yet tuff grooves is truly a pleasure to experience. He has had the chance to work with some of the world's greatest techno artists and has been a major inspiration and mentor to a plethora of contemporary Australian artists.
As a producer he has released sought after records world-wide as the artist Biz and under the alias of Calix, and has been charted by the likes of Derrick May, Mad Mike, Ben Sims and Dave Clarke. He has run three import record stores over the last thirty years and compiled releases for labels such as Detroit's Submerge and Germany’s Force inc. He al-so promoted the legendary Flash and Fix parties, Events that introduced Sydney to the pioneers of Detroit techno.
Today after witnessing the beginnings of an underground movement and seeing it turn into the worldwide phenomena it is one thing remains clear….Biz is still 100% committed to living and breathing the art of djing, and production with the tuff attitude and showmanship that is required. His addition to the Transmat family in 2019 couldn’t be better timed.
