Clash Lion is the brainchild of Shall Ocin, Terr and Daniel Watts, three different people with different backgrounds, tastes and ideas, but with unlimited love for interesting music from techno to electro, from indie-dance to
experimental stuff. Operating since 2017, Clash Lion has already released well-established artists like Anna and Maetrik as well as new talents as Risa Taniguchi and No_Ip.
Clash Lion founder and boss Daniel Watts comes with his second EP on the label (after the much-praised Social Operators from 2018). The title track is an unusual mix of minimal and electro tints with psychedelic keyboards and TB-303s, cooked and served with mysterious vocals and philosophical lyrics. A lot of analog and old textures were used to make the track sound the way it does - modular synths, old distortion pedals, Tascam multitracks and Atari
computers were part of the process.
The first remix is by Terr. After releasing some killer music on labels like Phantasy, Permanent Vacation and Correspondant, she comes back to her own label to deliver an irresistible indie-dance anthem, mixing disco beats
with acid lines and using vocals and keyboards from the original track, creating a ready-for-the-dancefloors version. Closing the EP we have the multi-talented Man Power, boss of the 'Me Me Me' label, skilled DJ and producer of gems in labels like DFA, Life and Death
and Permanent Vacation. His excellent remix takes the experiment to a step further - it begins in an almost ambient way but soon starts growing slowly with a constant crescendo of elements and layers to reach a unique and captivating climax, defying any gender boundaries.
