SALES NOTES

Dino Lenny’s Fine Human Records returns with a classic slice of the main man’s trademark 80’s noir space disco. His ‘Fire’ EP comes with two outstanding originals from Lenny, and a beautiful remix from Black Mami. Launched in 2015, Fine Human Records has a good pedigree already. Whether it’s the manga-style artwork or the intricate attention to detail in the tracks. Everyone from The Chemical Brothers and Maceo Plex to Damian Lazarus have shown the upmost appreciation for Dino’s productions.

In typical style, lead track ‘Fire’ bucks all the current trends with a groove straight out of Giorgio Moroder's handbook. Leathery bass and snares that snap in outer space lead us down a to a happy place as the 90’s electronica vocals take over. Sure, to be a big hit with a huge cross section of DJs unafraid to walk in the long grass.

‘Dis-Konnect’ is the wonky electro exploration of the modern world. Deliberate and uncompromising, it’s off kilter vibe soon becomes warm and inviting with scattershot vocals and weird sonics that have a nostalgic vibe of Dino’s classic hit ‘I Feel Stereo’. The addition of an ever so familiar rave stab in the break with annihilate the dance floor! Rounding out the pack is enigmatic Black Mami with a faithful reimagination of ‘Fire’. Keeping much of the original vibe in place, strips back the groove to create a powerful roller from the saw-toothed bass that ebbs and flows with consummate ease. Acid shots add interest and a futuristic edge.
