ORIGINALLY RELEASED APRIL 2007 : WE NOW HAVE LIMITED COPIES
Crosstown Rebels proudly announce the 2nd part of the Get Lost series and welcome Jamie Jones to lead the charge…
Ever the risk takers and pushers of the new, exciting and irregular, Crosstown Rebels first invited you to Get Lost in 2006 with an epic two-part mix from Damian Lazarus and Matthew Styles. A journey of unrivalled weirdness and deep, tripped out sounds, it was a mix that took the best part of six months to compile and stood tall as one of the finest and certainly most daring releases of the year.
2007 is the year of Jamie Jones.
Jamie Jones is a name that will be familiar to some and new to others, but ask anyone who’s seen him play records and you’re likely to hear a very similar story, Jamie is a rising star! A regular behind and in front of the decks across Europe and Ibiza, his talent and hard work was rewarded in 2006 with regular DJ slots at Fabric, T-Bar and DC10 and much praised releases on Freak n’Chic and Poker Flat. Described at the ‘up and coming king of techno’ by Mixmag, he started 2007 with a bang as his debut release for Crosstown Rebels, ‘Panic EP’ became one of the hottest records in Europe, further underlining his talent to many and affirming Damian’s choice to have him mix Get Lost 2.
Get Lost 2 is a cavernous, groove-laden, mysterious route through future house music. Strange filtered sounds, odd beats and twisted melodies fill the album and allow you to close your eyes and literally Get Lost in a soundtrack of raw, sublime electronics. Featuring exclusive new Rebel releases from Jennifer Cardini & Shonky, Nico Purman & John Keys plus killer cuts from Larry Heard featuring Mr White, Dennis Ferrer and Plasmik. Get Lost 2 offers up new angles and fresh experiences for both dancefloor abandon and headphone sensibilities. It’s perfect afterhours listening, “when the Rebels crew asked me to compile and mix the second part in the Get Lost series, of course I was really happy, but I also knew exactly what direction I wanted the mix to go. Which is basically, if I was invited back to yours for an after party, Get Lost 2 is what you would hear me play if I was allowed on the decks…” says Jamie.
