SALES NOTES

Girls of the Internet are stepping into the new decade with the first track from their sophomore album ‘Girls FM’.

After a stellar 2019, which saw them release their debut album to universal acclaim, achieving the accolade of being one of BBC 6 Music’s Album’s of the Year, gaining radio support from Gilles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Tom Ravenscroft, Mista Jam, Nemone, Lauren Laverne, Toddla T, playing at some of the most renowned venues around Europe, and counting DJ’s like The Black Madonna, Basement Jaxx, Claptone, Axel Bowman, Nightmares On Wax, Joe Goddard, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Saoirse and Horse Meat Disco as fans.

After fielding offers from all kinds of record labels, Girls have decided to keep hold on their independence and the rights to their music, and join the long list of successful artists who are taking on the mainstream themselves.

‘I Don’t Wanna Lose You’ sees the band take traditional house and disco formula, and drag it into the future. Featuring Olivia Louise, who featured on one of the standout tracks from 2019’s ‘SYRUP’; Olivia delivers her trademark smooth RnB vocals over the disco bass and thumping drum machines.

Girls of the Internet are deliberately blurring lines between dance and electronic music, and live music. Instead of sampling old music, Girls are creating their own sounds.
