New Jersey house legend Harry Romero makes a welcome return to Crosstown Rebels this March with It Hurts. Teaming up with long-term vocalist partner Jessica Eve, the single includes a remix from award winning producer Rodriguez Jr., who makes his first appearance on the label since 2017.
It Hurts sets off with tribal drum patterns, as Jessica Eve’s hypnotic vocals open into a myriad of jungle-like samples. Whispering hats compliment the bassline throughout, helping to form a quintessential peak-time number. Rodriguez Jr.’s remix comes next, as the French talent provides six minutes of emotive electronic music thanks to his trademark emotive sound. Stripped-back kicks meld into gentle key chimes, creating a signature poignant cut.
