Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two imprint continues to fly the flag for steadfast rolling and pumping house jams, with a sterling EP from James Burton, backed with a remix from one of the scene’s most decorated soldiers, Dennis Ferrer.
Burton has already released certified bangers on labels like Skream’s Of Unsound Mind and Kaluki Music, and its on his debut Four Thirty Two release that we are treated to a brace of tracks that straddle disco’s rich heritage with contemporary house music’s subby bass and tight, swinging beats. Peak time business from this hotly tipped producer.
Dennis Ferrer really requires no introduction, but for the uninitiated, the DJ & producer from NYC has been behind a huge swathe of certified house classics since the mid 1990s, for labels like Ibadan, Defected, King Street, Strictly Rhythm, and of course, his own Objektivity label. Ferrer chisels out a typically funky and raw remix that’s scattered with delirious vocal chops, sax tones and chugs of rhythmic guitar.
