It grabs you and turns you round. Resistance is futile. Fall into it gleefully because the darkness has been lit, there is a chill in the air and you feel as taut as a bow.
Laurent Pastor and Marc Lapeyre (FKclub) are responsible for Décadanse where “Ice doesn’t hurt anymore” according to the whisper in the title track. The label head was convinced by his partner to start production in a basement studio to create a sound using guitars and synthesisers.
The coming together of these 2 strong (id)entities has culminated in an EP which is cinematic (Train in Vein, Easy Drive), distinguished post-punk (Plan B) and electronic (Décadanse). And when Susuma Makai ventures into the meandering “Ruin”, he delivers a mind-blowing version.
