Irish duo Lakker reveal their second release for Belgian imprint R&S with the Mountain Divide EP. Here, the pair channel their roots in noise, punk and metal into a scintillating broken techno excursion, beginning with the hard-hitting title cut which lets off a barrage of stuttering beats, cathartic hiss and feedback. Following on, ‘Math Fall’ centres on tripping voice chatters surrounded by electrified bass pulsations that really make the hairs stand on edge whereas ‘Monla’ changes up on the mood with its grainy pitch-bend chords.
