Craig McNamara revives his much-loved Last Magpie moniker after a few years of absence. Always delivering juicy house jams, Last Magpie fired out a run of great releases for Hypercolour, Losing Suki and Electric Minds, and so it’s an honour to have the Magpie’s return on Waze & Odyssey’s Street Tracks label, with ‘Organ House’.
Not unsurprisingly, ‘Organ House’ features the classic M1 organ as its centrepiece motif. A sprightly and up tempo house rhythm track builds up as those delectable organ riffs keep layering over the solid drums, it’s uncomplicated and soulful, just as all house music should be. Accompanying track, ‘Changes’, is deeper in mood, with wistful chords and a loping bassline over a mechanical and rugged beat.
