It’s that time of year, the darkness envelops us. Luke Solomon shares some of his demons…

Luke Solomon is no stranger to the Rebels, a treasured friend this is his second EP for the label. ‘Demons’ is another slice of menacing techno bubbling with laidback house elements.

Luke’s contributions to the industry are countless with productions under various monikers, turning his hand to numerous genres throughout and leaving his print on the influential labels such as Classic and his own Music For Freaks. His ability as a producer matures with each record and has never been so evident as on ‘Demons’, a perfect blend of samples, sounds and effects. To whet the palete of those in the know, this release opens up a contender for remix of the year by the Canadian musical genius, Brennan Green, whose seminal ‘Downstreamers’’ EP woke up techno in 2001.

The title track is a haunting and elating record that would suit closing the moments of the night as well as the opening. Brennan has served up a fresh remix culminating in a warped hybrid of the original, lighthearted yet full of drama. ‘Return To Darkly’ is a looming track with a throbbing bassline, melodic instruments and high-pitched cries form a mischievous yet leisurely underground treat. The digital release will include ‘The Devil is a Gentleman’, delivering an enveloping groove and watch out for the sample - it bites! The Demons EP proves Luke is never afraid to take risks and stand out from the crowd, an EP sure to stay in the record box for a long time.

Luke Solomon completed his album for Rekids last year and has almost completed its follow-up, ‘Timelines’. He has enjoyed success in the Top 10 of the British national charts with his band the Freaks who have remixed Duran Duran and hold superb new material under their belt. A new project is in the works with old Classic chum Rob Mello and he has remixes forthcoming on Gigolo and Classic Digital (the contemporary hybrid of Classic and Music for Freaks). Here is an artist definitely capable of multi-tasking, always reinventing and pushing his sound forward.

We are delighted to release this EP already supported across the board and in the boxes of Michael Mayer, Ewan Pearson and Tiga. ‘Demons’ is set to light up the cold Winter nights and give you nightmares for many nights to come.
