Track Listing TBC | |||||||||||||||||||||
DescriptionKill Frenzy, our Belgian booty-loving Jean-Claude Van Damme look-alike returns with his latest ode to the female form. It never ceases to amaze us that the crew member with the tightest pants consistently turns in some of nastiest ghetto funk. Whilst radio producers will be quaking in their boots, fans of his crunkin' creations will be singing 'Tongue n Lick' for months to come. A summer hit for the dirtybird crew its now set to make your winter walls sweat. Taking an even heavier path, Kill Frenzy brings together classical piano, lazer-edged synth, marching snares and a bulbous bassline on the epic, Naked Piano.

Track Listing | |||||||||||||||||||||
DescriptionBack in 2015 our bearded Dirtybird Player, Will Clarke, needed a secret weapon for some of his festival gigs for the Summer. He sampled the ghetto house legend, DJ Funk, who made an appearance on Dirtybird back in 2013 for the Kill Frenzy smash, “Make That Booty Clap”. Will passed it on to the rest of the Dirtybird crew, and before we knew it the track took a life of it’s own and quickly became one of the most requested tracks, even to this day. Will ended up linking with DJ Funk himself, and they turned what was a quick bootleg into a full blown collaboration. Ladies & Gentlemen, “Booty Percolatin’” is officially here. For the flip side, we added Will’s solo effort “House Girl”, a bumpin’ ride with a contagious bassline and chanting vocals for all the ‘House Boys’ and ‘House Girls”.

Track ListingA1. Ya Kidding (Original) A2. Ya Kidding (Sebastien V Remix) B1. Ya Kidding (Solardo Remix)
DescriptionThis is the one you’ve been waiting for. First broken by Claude VonStroke & Justin Martin in their B2B set at Miami this year, “Ya Kidding” by FISHER was the biggest track of the conference. The vocal says it all - “Movin' On The Dancefloor”. A former pro surfer from Sydney, Australia, FISHER’s debut release is already generating big waves with early support from Pete Tong, Green Velvet, Eats Everything, Skream, Latmun, and more. We also enlisted two mighty remixes from artists who have sculpted their own unique sounds-the red hot UK duo Solardo and the mysterious up and coming, Sébastien V.

Track ListingA. Walay (My Bae) B. Raw Nerve
DescriptionOur boss Claude VonStroke is the busiest guy we know. When he’s not traveling the world or curating an event, he’s in the studio every day putting in hours upon hours, relentless in perfecting his craft. He’s had a slew of hits the past couple years in the form of remixes and collaborations, and now with the “Walay (My Bae)” EP, Claude gets back to some inventive and somewhat “out of the box” solo works. The title song leads with a melodic riff and an funky vocal that sounds like a defective cyborg is proclaiming love for his partner, “Walay.” This quasi-human uses the slang “My Bae” to try and pass for human and we almost believe in his passion. The sound harkens back to old classic rave tracks but also pushes very modern production techniques. On the flip, “Raw Nerve” is an emotional exploration in both sounds and lyrics. A melancholy VonStroke dives deep into his insecurities and fears with sonically mutated lyrics like “I’m feeling so sad, I’m feeling real bad today. When I see you on the street I dont want to compete.” You can feel the social instability oozing out of the vocal only to come back at the close with a violently hard bassline embodying the personal angst and frustration that goes along with not “fitting in.”

Track ListingA1. Set it Off (Justin Martin Remix) B1. Set it Off (Justin Martin Party Starter Remix)
DescriptionY’all want this party started right? Well you came to the right place, as this classic anthem from the fabled electro & hip hop artist, Strafe, gets official remixes from Justin Martin. Originally created by Justin as a secret weapon for his DJ sets, this quickly became one of his most requested track IDs, and now here it is for the masses alongside an additional never before heard tech house version. A special project deserves special artwork, and Justin hand-picked Nico Salazar to create imagery based on the classic 808 drum machine, featuring a boombox of the iconic colored buttons and lighting.

Track ListingA. Breakfast (Original Mix) B. Breakfast (Jesse Perez Remix)
DescriptionThe Croatian duo PEZNT pay homage to arguably the best meal of the day, “Breakfast”. With vocals from Born I Music, Claude started playing it this Spring and the song quickly started to get the ‘Birds on the hunt trying to find out what it is, hitting a fever pitch when he played it at the Oakland BBQ. As the original is already becoming a favorite, we enlisted Miami’s ghetto house expert, Jesse Perez, to give it a flip and put his high energy beats and bass behind it.

Track ListingA1. Where You At B1. Being Tru B2. Deets Yew
DescriptionWhen Claude was hunting for tracks to include in his ‘Live in Detroit’ album, he came across Chambray’s ‘Evenue’ , which ended up making the final mix in his recorded Movement set. When we reached out to him about it, the Berlin artist sent us 4 demos and we signed them all. With an influence from the early stripped down jack sound of the Midwest, Chambray’s productions add a polished style and wide range of musical character, both of which are in full display on his “Where You At?” EP. It’s not easy to create a ‘signature’ sound that both crosses boundaries and also appeals to them all, yet Chambray’s particular music feels effortless.

Track ListingA. Min and Soda B. Car And Driver
DescriptionMarc Houle has long been an influence to electronic music, as well as many of our Dirtybird flock. Having been an integral part of Richie Hawtin’s Minus label in the early 2000s, he’s well known for being a live act and producer—with an affinity for analog gear and a sound that crosses between Detroit & Chicago with a new wave influence. He made his first appearance on Dirtybird in 2017, where Claude hand-selected him to remix ‘Whose Afraid of Detroit’ for the 10th anniversary. He’s back again on the label, this time with his own EP “Min and Driver”. The lead track ‘Car and Driver’ begins with a ferocious acid line and never lets up, with weighty drums and his signature synth elements weaving in and out. The flip side, “Min and Soda”, is a trippy minimal monster with sparse and bouncing discord throughout, and using negative space to create a track that is full and impressionable.

Track ListingA. Another Planet B. Ducking
DescriptionIt’s no secret that in recent years Brazil has become a breeding ground of sorts for Dirtybird talent, and two artists at the top, Bruno Furlan & DJ Glen, come together for the massive “Another Planet” EP. Truly sounding like they were made in a studio from a different world, both the title tracks and the flip side, “Ducking”, will stop your feet in your tracks when you hear it, and then get them going full speed when it comes back end. Colossal basslines, mammoth breakdowns and a bunch of extra terrestrial sounds and rhythms make this one of our most unique releases of the year, and will surely be on of the biggest.

Track ListingA. Black Magic B. Downstairs
Description“Every time I play Cour T.’s “Black Magic” the room changes. The entire vibe of the party goes from hands in the air to grinding, sexual energy. This track has arcane properties on the dance floor. I wish I had 10 tracks with this vibe because nothing else sounds like it and when I play it, I always wish I could keep the vibe for longer. Selfishly, I asked our label manager to hold back this track for 6 extra months just so I could have it all to myself. That’s how much I’m into it. For all the DJs complaining about how everything sounds the same right now, take a risk and drop this one in your sets.” -VonStroke

DescriptionA lot can happen in 15 years. Few things manage to thrive for a decade and a half, especially in music. But a scrappy, left of center, Bay Area house music label, Dirtybird, has managed to do just that. Claude VonStroke, Dirtybird’s founder, is marking this 15-year milestone the only way he knows how… working. This year, VonStroke will throw two dozen-plus parties, three festivals (including the famous Dirtybird Campout), host his traveling Dirtybird BBQ series in major cities across the US, publish a coffee table book, release a seasonal clothing line, stage art shows, produce a fly on the wall docu series...and kick it all off by releasing a new album, out February 21st. What began as a free party, turned basement record label, has morphed into a truly thriving community whose familial, fun and welcoming vibe has won over hearts and minds across the world. And while Dirtybird has grown and evolved, VonStroke’s core focus on music remains unwavering. The new album ‘Freaks & Beaks’ is a celebration of quirky innovation and a relentless pursuit of something new and fresh, while hearkening back to the freewheeling spirit that inspired the launch of his label. This is a project that draws upon the inspirations of family, old friends, new fans and proper dancefloors. Claude will let his flock wet their beaks while they wait in anticipation of the new album with two new singles demonstrating the breadth of the dance music landscape explored on the record. Youngblood touches on the deeper sides of Claude VonStroke, a throwback to the label’s early days, featuring local LA music house talent Wyatt Marshall, while All My People in the House is a dancefloor heater that is sure to unite new and old Dirtybird fans together. Today, Claude also delivers fans part one of an intimate video series, shot by his sister Emily (an accomplished filmmaker), documenting the creation of ‘Freaks and Beaks’, celebrating this historic milestone and taking a deeper dive into the day to day life of Claude VonStroke on the road. ‘Freaks and Beaks’ is the fourth artist album and sixth full-length project from Claude VonStroke. He approached the album with a new process, including committing to daily creative time, experimenting with a lot of new hardware and having fun creating a huge amount of sketches. He made music on many levels of gear all the way from complex modular synths to simple drum apps on his iPad. Keeping it all DIY, he sampled his own voice and his two children on several tracks as well. He allowed himself to breathe while creating over 130 ideas, which were whittled down to the finished 11 album tracks. Freaks & Beaks nods at the inspirations that underpin VonStroke’s world, inside jokes between him and Justin Martin (FlubbleBuddy), unused experimental live sessions (Session A), playful noodling on synths (Alpine Arpline), obscure French producers (Frankie Goes To Bollywood), championing new talent (Youngblood), irreverent self-aware humor (Birthday Messages) and genre inspirations that range from ghetto tech and drum n bass to hip-hop and breaks. This is VonStroke’s love letter to the vibrancy and genre diversity that have made Dirtybird such a singular label.

Track ListingA1. I Can’t Wait (Ardalan’s Electrocoustic Rework) A2. Mr.Bad (DJ Deeon Remix) B1. I Can't Wait (Delano Smith Reconstructed) B2. Lifted (The Martin Brothers Remix)
DescriptionArdalan’s debut album, “Mr. Good” was a perfect launching off point for the bright, young artist. A genuine reflection of the producer he has become with a considerable nod to the future. The album was widely admired by critics, DJs, fans and industry alike, and we’re super proud of what Ardalan continues to accomplish. For the remixes of the album, Ardalan’s music receives re-interpretations from DJ Deron, Delano Smith, The Martin Brothers and Ardalan himself.

Track ListingA. Tribes of the Metronome B. About You
DescriptionNasser Baker’s talent precedes him. A handpicked protégé of Dennis Ferrer, the blossoming talent is now carving his own niche in the house space. His ascension continues today with the release of ‘Tribes Of The Metronome,’ marking his DIRTYBIRD debut. “Tribes Of The Metronome” uses sputtering bass and distorted vocals to make its impact, maintaining a consistent, yet driving pace that keeps energy levels high from start to finish. “About You” sees Baker laying on the heavy grooves, with a reverberated bassline, off-kilter synths, and crisp hi hats joining together with its vocal elements for a tech house piece with a classic flair. Both have been sought-after set weapons for Claude VonStroke, making their release particularly exciting for the DIRTYBIRD flock. Beyond his work with Dennis Ferrer, Nasser Baker’s keen ear for house has been recognized by plenty of industry greats. His ‘Say Something’ EP on Circus was an instant hit, receiving remixes from the likes of Paul Woolford and Rebūke. Nasser’s work has also appeared numerous times on Objektivity, and recently, he was tapped by Green Velvet for an EP on Relief. It’s clear this young producer is here to stay!

Track ListingA. Psychic Attack B. Sun Is Hot
DescriptionOne of the most enjoyable parts of Dirtybird is to watch a talented artist grow. Nala started out in Miami cutting her teeth on the local DJ circuit and then moved to LA where she eventually signed with VonStroke and Aundy's Motherbird Management. Her weekly Dirtybird "TV Party" on Twitch is one of the most popular shows on the network. Each week she features her unmistakeable punk & new wave-influenced DJ style while also hosting a special underground guest, as well as her long time friend and local LA rave legend, Richie Panic. Nala’s debut on Dirtybird, “Psychic Attack”, is a gritty A-side with her own vocals shouting about the nervous the angst of 2020. The B-side, “Sun Is Hot” showcases her gentler side with a deep groove, a smooth vocal tone, and melodic vintage synth riffs throughout.

Track ListingA. Sinking B. Cue The Rhythm
DescriptionIt’s always exciting to hear collaborations from two familiar faces — especially when the results are completely unexpected. “Sinking” and “Cue The Rhythm” from VNSSA & Lenny Kiser are two of those collabs. The two artists got together to exchange some ideas, and we’re thrilled with the outcome. Both moody and comforting, VNSSA’s vocals on the title track adds a deep undertone to keep it floating, while the other’s breakbeat sensibility gives off an air of old-school rave vibes.

This duo are figureheads in the Future Beats movement, and their “Press Play EP” is a collection of 4 tracks that explore all facets of the sound. From futuristic acid half step to Neptunes-influenced BBQ beats and sublime Drum n Bass, the EP shows range and skill few producers can match.

Track ListingA1. Deliverance A2. Inchoate B1. Venality B2. Danny Goliger & Michael Fam - Fog
DescriptionWe have really enjoyed the launch of our Dirtybird White Label series. So far this year we have been able to release some outstanding records across a wide range of genres. Up next, the eclectic sounds of the series continues with an extremely talented LA producer, Danny Goliger. Our friend Justin Jay who also helped kick off the entire white label series, turned us on to Danny's music. Danny weaves a tapestry of sound, vibes and emotion across four pieces of unique, left-field electronica. We love it.

Track ListingA. Feel A Little Strange B1. Micro B2. Dwelling
DescriptionChange is good. It’s inevitable. It’s the general nature of how the universe works all around us. Change comes in many forms, and this particular one is the debut EP from 2Phargon. While it might be the debut, the veteran producer behind the new alias isn’t a stranger to Dirtybird, Lee Mortimer aka Friend Within. The EP features three brand new tracks under the new guise covering a wide landscape. “Feel A little Strange” is a monster attention grabber - the perfect piece to kick off the new venture. “Micro” is fast-paced filled with moments of drifting away before snapping back into stride. Rounding it out is “Dwelling”—a bubbling kaleidoscope of sound. We welcome the change with open arms.

Track ListingA1. Fast Forward A2. Dynamic Symmetry B1. Quantum Mechanics B2. Astral Waves
DescriptionHugo Massien is a synthesizer engineer at Novation with high profile singles on XL Recordings and a stellar 2021 album, "Metamorphosis”, which caught the ear of Claude VonStroke. He is a fixture in the sets of Roman Flugel, TEED, and Ben UFO to name a few. We are more than thrilled to welcome him to the Dirtybird white label series with “Fast Forward”. Hugo delivers four vinyl gems— from the melodic break of "Fast Foward”, to the dream state mood of “Dynamic Symmetry”, the lo-fi bass of “Quantum Mechanics”, and sublime “Astral State”.

Track ListingA. Wormhole B. Facelift
DescriptionSan Diego born and raised DJ/Producer, Dillon Marinez, today releases his latest EP ‘Wormhole’, out now on Dirtybird. Curated by Claude VonStroke, the compelling two-track project presents a dynamic soundscape showcasing the sonic duality of one of Dirtybird’s newest rising stars. The chaotic, high-energy sound of its titular track ‘Wormhole’ is instantly mesmerizing, while its companion ‘Facelift’ is a deep, rolling burner. Regarding the EP, Dillon Marinez said, “My first [Dirtybird] Campout inspired both tracks. Claude’s set especially was full of some thick stabby bass which was right up my alley. This sound gave me an idea for each lead and the rest flowed naturally.” Continuing to grow as a consistent member of the Dirtybird flock, Marinez’s latest EP, ‘Wormhole’ marks his fifth release on the esteemed label following last year’s ‘No Pressure’ EP and earlier singles like ‘Dance For Me.’ Taking inspiration from funk, hip hop, and reggae, Marinez credits his father and brother for exposing him as a kid to the multi-genre sounds that shape his music style today. A bassist since childhood, it was only natural for Dillon to be drawn to the ebbs and flows of house music. Learning Ableton in college, Marinez was able to incorporate a blend of rhythmic elements to create his unique bass lines and incredibly catchy beats known to captivate crowds. Releasing music on Dirtybird marks a full circle moment for Dillon, as he has previously named Dirtybird’s artists Justin Martin and Shiba San as major sources of inspiration for his music. Marinez invites fans to join him on his rhythmic journey and stream ‘Wormhole’ today.

Track ListingA. It Knows B. Rain Check
DescriptionToday, Toronto-based producer Sven Lochenhoer releases his quirky two-track ‘It Knows’ EP, out now via Dirtybird. Since 2017, Sven Lochenhoer has been a consistent character among the flock, popping up on various Dirtybird compilations and sub labels over the years. Diving into the depths of house music, Sven Lochenhoer’s ‘It Knows’ EP is reminiscent of Dirtybird’s 2005 origins. Thoughtfully produced, the EP consists of its edgy, club-centered title track and experimental downtempo companion ‘Rain Check’. Each layered with gentle piano melodies, warm basslines, and wonky vocal effects, Lochenhoer has crafted an intricate duality through this two-track project. The rising Canadian producer first appeared on the scene six years ago. Since then, Lochenhoer has gone on to release records with such labels as Dirtybird, Trippy Ass Technologies, and Dumb Fat. Through his original productions and Splice sample packs, Sven Lochenhoer continues to earn the favorable regard of artists and aural aficionados alike.

Track ListingA. Stay Strong B. In Your Eyes
DescriptionToday, UK duo Audiojack release their edgy two-track ‘Stay Strong’ EP, out now via Dirtybird, marking their debut release on the label. Embracing their unique deep house sound, ‘Stay Strong’ lives comfortably on festival main stages and underground dancefloors. Its titular track is an intricate soundscape complimented by layered synths and textured percussive elements. The companion track, ‘In Your Eyes,’ strikes a different tone with its rhythmic breakbeat nature. Ready to leave their mark on the Dirtybird flock, ‘Stay Strong’ arrives ahead of Audiojack’s upcoming debut at Dirtybird Campout this October. Regarding the EP, Audiojack said, “We made these tracks as the pandemic restrictions were lifting and there was light at the end of the tunnel. We imagined how good it would feel to play loud music again to people who were full of joy and relief at being free again, and we tried to encapsulate that feeling in the music.” Following the release of their second album, 'Surface Tension', Audiojack are entering what might be called the major phase of their career. This, of course, is not to diminish the solid reputation they have built over the last fifteen years as DJs, producers, remixers and label curators with original releases on labels like Crosstown Rebels, 2020Vision and Hot Creations, remixes on labels including Moon Harbour, B-Pitch Control and Diynamic, and artists like Underworld, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 who have enlisted their talents for remixes.

DescriptionDanny Goliger was one of our first artists that we launched our left-of-center White Label project with, and his eclectic and genre-bending tracks make their way back to the label again. This time he brings along Choopsie, the talented producer out of LA with an equal amount of diversity, Both broken-beat in nature, “Cycling” contrasts with rumble bass and soft pads, while “AF Rex” takes a melancholy tone with chopped vocal bits and rolling low subs.

Track ListingA. McDonalds (EPROM Remix) B. McDonalds (Barclay Crenshaw Remix)
DescriptionGreat minds think alike. EPROM & Barclay Crenshaw’s remixes of Yung Skrrt’s “McDonalds” are cosmically connected. Both artists separately discovered the track via Bandcamp, and both began transmitting the frequencies through their DJ sets on different stages around the world. Once the parallel universe became perpendicular and crossed paths, they each decided to make their own interpretations and now the world is one.
