Track ListingA1. Blue Monday A2. Join The Tribe B1. Orbiting B2. Automatic
DescriptionLocklead arrives on LOCUS in style as he drops a quartet of cuts via his ‘Blue Monday’ EP. An artist undeniably in a purple patch following releases via Dungeon Meat, Vatos Locos, Dark Side Of The Sun and his debut album ‘Square One’ on Up The Stuss, Utrecht’s Locklead continues to flourish as one of the Netherlands’ hottest emerging house talents. Showing no signs of slowing down, his next release provides another signal of intent as he heads to FUSE sister imprint LOCUS for the first time. Following multiple appearances for the label at their London showcases, he now unveils four diverse and expansive offerings showcasing his far-reaching sound across his ‘Blue Monday’ EP. A track that’s been the subject of ID requests for months, title cut ‘Blue Monday’ kicks things off in style as infectious vocals and spiralling synths go to work above a wormhole of a bassline to provide a peak-time cut already proven to work dancefloors. ‘Join The Tribe’ leans on tight rolling grooves guided by crisp organic drums licks, rumbling low-ends and off-kilter samples, while ‘Orbiting’ is a spacey journey into the late night hours. To close, Locklead takes things deeper as he layers rich chords, swinging drums and hazy vocals across a classy house effort to wrap up proceedings.

Track ListingA. Three Drops B. Arp Love
DescriptionWhen James Pepper met Riccardo Paffetti (Black Loops) a bromance was quick to bloom. After touring the Berlin-based Italian across Australia, the two soon realised they not only loved each others company but records too. Following Black Loops maiden trip down under, the dudes stayed in touch and led to Pep crashing on Riccardo’s sofa bed for a week in Berlin. The duo went to work in the studio, brewing up some gems that were released on classy imprints Neovinyl Recordings and Haŵs. It was on Paffetti’s most recent trip to Oz (well before the world shutdown) that brought about their most anticipated tracks to date. Bunkering down in a Marrickville studio, the cross-continent pairing got up close and personal with some neat hardware. Experimenting with an array of compressors, a TR8 and the Elektron Analog Four MKII ‘Three Drops’ EP was born. The title track is a lively affair. A rampant message to club folk far and wide. Founded on lo-fi percussion, a crunchy kick and echoed key sections ‘Three Drops’ throws a flurry of punches. Varied combinations of electro, acid and techno rolling together just right. Here we have a welcome jab of adrenaline. You can almost visualise the duo grinning from ear-to-ear, as they bring in each piece of machinery. ‘Three Drops’ made its live debut at Pepper’s recent Boiler Room in Sydney and has since taken the interwebs by storm. Hundred’s of ID requests later and the time is right to share this gem as the clubs open back up across the globe. On the B side comes ‘Arp Love’. A frantically beautiful dose of techno. Soaring risers make way for pulsating chords and shimmering TR8 patterns, as we’re led deep into a clubby rabbit hole. In signature Black Loops style, a spoken word sample on the disappointment of love breaks the piece in two.

DescriptionOriginally released in November 2021, Guy Gerber and Albertina’s ‘Bocat’ is now remixed by Michael Bibi & Tel Aviv’s OMRI. Now recruiting Michael Bibi for a hard-hitting club remix, the Solid Grooves founder track delivers a new lease of life to the original. Bringing his signature production style to Rumors, Bibi adds twisted vocal chops amongst spacious percussion, deep acid lines, and pounding kicks. Following appearances on Disco Halal, Mobilee Records, and more, OMRI. now arrives on Guy Gerber’s Rumors imprint with his interpretation of ‘Bocat’. Injecting a solid groove to the track, OMRI. brings skippy hats, pounding kick drums and heavy low end underneath Albertina’s vocals and other select elements of the original to craft a new vibe perfectly curated to move dancefloors worldwide.

Track ListingA. Dreamin' B. Dreamin' (Instrumental)
DescriptionAbsolutely flawless Boogie sounds on NYC's SAM Records from 1982, Greg Henderson's "Dreamin" was licensed from the tiny Rain Records label and no doubt gained some invaluable exposure to the early 80's post Disco club scene that was in full swing at that time. Breezy, soulful, sweet and most importantly of all - funky, "Dreamin" is an absolute pleasure to the ears. Greg Henderson only released a handful of records during his career (including the incredible Henderson & Whitfield - "Dancing to the beat") and was also involved in the production of some other classic Boogie rarities (Masterforce - "Don't Fight The Feeling" , Rome Jeffries - "Good Love"). "Dreamin" has always been a sought after record, often fetching collectors prices of £100 - £200 a time. A sublime cut for all lovers of Disco, Boogie, Funk and Modern Soul. Now made available again, legitimately licensed, remastered and reissued in conjunction with SAM Records New York City.

DescriptionFollowing the Kota Motomura and Exterior debuts earlier this year, it’s another first from Hobbes Music. Maastricht Research is a brand new project from Scottish artist Jonathan Hunter producing ambient/drone style material. Jonathan was part of the quartet behind the much-loved Slabs Of The Tabernacle parties at Glasgow's now-legendary La Cheetah club back in the late 00s/early 10s. He's also one half of The Three Lives, whose debut EP, Mud & Flame and follow-up Across & Beyond were released recently by Glasgow's Full Dose label. Written and recorded over a number of years, whilst living in Amsterdam, Glasgow and Dublin, the Maastricht Research vibe is about as horizontal as it gets and is the perfect soundtrack to long, lazy days and balmy eves in the park, by the pool, in the bath etc! There are zero beats. It's proper ambient / drone music and could well have been beamed in from another dimension, planet or century altogether, including field recordings, atmospheric fx, lush and eerie pads, with the occasional snatch of a weird vocal and generally other-worldly sounds. The record owes a debt to the likes of Manuel Gottsching, Cluster, Susumu Yokota, Detroit Escalator Company, Astral Industries and Alessandro Cortini, among others… Mastered by Keith 'Radioactive Man' Tenniswood, Idle Animation will now be out at the end of October on extremely limited edition 12" vinyl, with CMYK printed labels, contained in a plain white sleeve with 3mm spine (reverse board for natural finish) including full colour artwork plus titles* printed using a Risograph on 135gsm ‘Context Natural’ A3 paper and finally all packaged in a polyurethane bag. *[printed on the ‘Obi flap’ - excess paper folded around the spine]. "Loving it. Beautiful stuff here - all tracks doing it for me" ROLANDO (UR) "This is great! Will use in on Ambient Flo" AUNTIE FLO "Really diggin the MaastrichtResearch release" INTERGALACTIC GARY "Love this, thanks for sending" DOMENIC (Sub Club) "This sounds fantastic!" NICK CRADDOCK (Gateway To Zen) "Really liking the sound of the record. Dublin air tugging on his emotive side by the sounds :)" JOHN HECKLE "Mesmerizing music, something we all need to listen to because of so much chaos and stress in the world...with this, just sit back and zone out for a bit and regain balance...." DAN CURTIN "This is nice music, thank you for sharing it with me. A3 is the one for me, really nice vibe" ARIO (Astral Industries) "More emotive and soulful ambience and drone from this red hot label. Maastricht Research have been reviving the Poolside revellers at Pikes morning sessions this summer" DRIBBLER (Pikes, Café del Mar, Ibiza)

Track ListingComing Back Automatic Discipline Automatic Discipline (Intrumental)
DescriptionLos Angeles' Zen 2000 returns with its third release, the third and final chapter in its kick-off string of 7-inches. For this episode, we once again dip into the deep and diverse well of local talent for a single from Tim Jones, a.k.a. Ex.Pontoon. “Coming Back” is a slinky, off-kilter slow burn, a slinky vocal groove snaking through SoCal G-funk refashioned into a crackly reggae dub wobble. The other side is a delirious and psychedelic trip into the desert, the fiery sun scorching the earth below. Icy guitars and a cavernous arrangement turn the sonic horizon into a shimmering mirage. For the digital bonus, an instrumental version of the B-side, further revealing the nuanced and delicate composition of the piece.

Track ListingA. An Die Freude B. Pass in Light
DescriptionMore than three years has passed since her last release on Höga Nord Rekords but now Laughing Eye is back on the label with two tracks of electronic neo hippie beat-music. A departure from the 2019 album (”Laughing Eye”) but still true to the core of psychedelic music, Laughing eye taps in to the early eighties and primitive drum machine driven music on these two tracks. Both ”An Die Freude” and ”Pass in Light” has an alien and outer spacey feeling to them: the titles suggests this and the music fits them perfectly. If Laughing Eye aimed at your inner space on the last album, these songs goes to seek extraterrestrial life with kind intentions. Gothenburgs observatory lies under threat of a shutdown due to raised rents, but maybe with help from Laughing Eye and other space freaks like her, we can turn this ”development” around and secure the resources needed in the search for life on other planets!

Track ListingA. Observatoriet B. Besök
DescriptionThe word datasal paints inner pictures for most people growing up in Sweden during the 1990’s. The datasal (a classroom for computers) was an ordinary classroom with few changes to fit the school’s 10 newly leased computers. The room represented the change of times in Sweden during this period: the fixed institutions and the awaiting digital flood wave. The music of Datasal sounds captures the feeling of printing a downloaded picture of your favorite hockey player or music artist or the expectations building up as you wait for the modem to log in to interact with the thousands of users of the internet in 1995. The two tracks on this release manifests the excitement but also the bit of fright you felt connecting to the world in the mid 90’s - a time when the internet still was fun. The sound is built around repetitive sequencer loops and programmed beats where electric bass, electric guitar and flute improvise around a theme, creating a sound that is best described as cosmic flute house. Datasal is an harmonic reminder of a time where digital progress seemed less harmful than today.

Track ListingA Ten City - Be Free (Dimitri From Paris Remix - Extended Version) B Ten City - Be Free (Dimitri From Paris Remix Dubstrumental)
DescriptionChicago's Ten City have long been one of the most respected and successful vocal house groups to emanate from the city since the late 80s. The groups original and unique style fused elements of gospel and soul with acoustic, orchestral arrangements, underpinned by the throb of Chicago's house sound. Featuring the powerhouse production and vocal stylings of Marshall Jefferson with Byron Stingily, 'Be free’ is the first new release from the group since 1994. ‘Be Free’ - originally released in 2021 - was the sonic natural continuity of cult releases and worldwide club hits such as ‘That’s the way love is’ and ‘Devotion’ that have never left dance-floors, discerning DJs and dancers' hearts and memories since. Dimitri From Paris has naturally been a fan of Ten City from the very beginning. Upon hearing 'Be Free' he reached out to producer Marshall Jefferson to ask him to remix his new song ‘Music Saved My Life’, and after a quick chat Marshall asked if Dimitri could remix ‘Be Free’ in return and a deal was struck. As with most of his work, Dimitri used all of the original production, respectively and intuitively adding a few extra touches for maximum dance-floor potential. It is no surprise then that this long awaited vinyl release of 'Be Free' comes with Marshall Jefferson and Byron Stingily's full approval, with Byron even being quoted as saying that Dimitri's new version is ‘one of my favourite mixes of one of my songs ever!’

Track ListingA. We Bring It B. The Best Thing
DescriptionA collaboration between two talents who initially broke through on the White Isle several years ago, Jamie Jones and Darius Syrossian deliver the We Bring It EP on Jones’ seminal label Hot Creations. It’s not the first time the duo have co-produced together, with previous releases like Rushing and Eyes Of The Night displaying their dynamic approach. Their latest release brims with bright melodies and club-driven energy. The title tune unfurls with chunky kickdrums and a chopped-up, speedy vocal sample that winds between a thwacking bassline. A touch of tribal percussion bounces throughout the track, reflecting the Balearic vibe for which Jones and Syrossian are celebrated. On The Best Thing, a stabby synth-line breaks up a wavey and tripped-out soundscape. A vast bassline dominates, with a rave-ready feel that shimmers throughout the track.
