DescriptionFollowing a sold-out 10th anniversary party at London’s Corsica Studios, award-winning record label Local Action will release Do What You Want Forever, a 15 track compilation collecting its greatest hits from the last decade. Founded by Tom Lea, Local Action started off as a 12”-focused dance label, releasing acclaimed singles and EPs from T. Williams, Throwing Snow, DJ Q and more. The label’s third release, T. Williams’ ‘Heartbeat’ (and its Mosca remix) was an instant classic and still retains its anthem status in the UK underground a decade on. As the label developed into a more professional operation, it expanded its remit to larger projects - including groundbreaking albums such as Dawn Richard’s all-conquering Redemption, and ubiquitous dance records like Finn’s ‘Sometimes The Going Gets a Little Tough’ and DJ Q’s ‘Brandy & Coke’. In 2017, Local Action launched 2 B REAL: a Manchester-based sibling label headed up by Finn, which has housed records by the likes of Anz, Clemency, Martyn Bootyspoon, Iceboy Violet and LOFT (aka aya). In 2022, Local Action stands as one of the most respected imprints in underground dance music. Recent projects like India Jordan’s ‘For You’, E.M.M.A.’s Indigo Dream, DJ Q’s ‘All That I Could’ and UNIIQU3’s Heartbeats were celebrated across the board in 2020 and 2021’s best-of-year charts, while the label’s roster picked up three awards at DJ Mag’s 2020 Best of British awards, for Best Breakthrough Producer (India Jordan), Best Breakthrough DJ (Anz) and Best Breakthrough Label (2 B REAL). Following the release of Do What You Want Forever, Local Action will embark on a series of club showcases and festival stages across the UK and Europe, in London, Leeds, Barcelona, Paris and at Lewes' Brainchild Festival (full dates below). Local Action will release Do What You Want Forever on May 10 on digital download and limited CD with pull-out photo book inlay.

Track ListingA1. Onyankopon A2. I Reject What I Just Said B1. One Small Mistake B2. And All Of A Sudden, I Was Free
DescriptionPreviously releasing tracks and EPs on several respected big room labels such as Drumcode, Kraftek and Noir, Dutch DJ/producer SAMA announces the arrival of his new darker, grittier label Maximalist_Minimalist. Showcasing his new sound, the Utrecht- based DJ/producer delivers four hard-hitting, groove-led techno tracks built with intricate sound design and a perfectionist mindset. Leading the release is ‘Onyankopon’, a dark and dubby number with a chunky groove and gritty percussion. ‘I Reject What I Just Said’ enters harder and more driving territories, with textured sound design meeting polyrhythmic synth stabs and eerie atmospheres. The B-side starts with the trippy leads and atonal pads of ‘One Small Mistake’, before ‘And All Of A Sudden, I Was Free’ closes out the release with a driving roller. “I’ve felt the need to reinvent myself, to really create my own identity, and not attach myself too much to other labels anymore. For this reason, I ultimately set up this imprint: to provoke myself to become the artist that I so much adore and aspire to be. That’s why this brand will serve as an extension of myself; my creative identity, if you will.” - SAMA

Track ListingA. Reminiscence B. Murmuration
DescriptionFACT’s Patch Notes is a performance series that celebrates the art of making electronic music with hardware. As part of the practice behind Hélène Vogelsinger’s modular synthesizer compositions, she explores abandoned places, connecting with their energies to create immersive moments. For her Patch Notes performance, she serendipitously stumbled across an abandoned castle in the French countryside. “The installation and the recording session are always a process within the process, which takes a few hours. Technically it requires a good organisation: three modular cases and hundred of cables, a generator, a camera, lights and again so many cables,” she says. “It is something really intense, especially in those types of abandoned places, where you have to avoid a lot of obstacles. I love the fact that they have layers of stories and histories, with different occupants, often crossing times, and always full of beautiful and melancholic poetry.”

Track ListingA1. Sgadi Li Mi A2. Return To Nowhere B1. Ensemble B2. What's In The Past
DescriptionCharlotte de Witte marks the homecoming to her own imprint KNTXT with her brand new EP ‘Return to Nowhere’. The captivating record exists out of four long-awaited tracks called ‘Return to Nowhere, ‘Ensemble’, ‘Sgadi Li Mi’ and ‘What’s In The Past’. Further exploring her sonic realm, the record features techno sound reminiscent of her ‘Selected’ EP, but switches out the acid stabs for haunting hymns. The result is a gripping dismal soundtrack that feels desolate yet hopeful. With this spellbinding EP which combines her iconic hard-punching techno with mesmerizing chants effortlessly, Charlotte proves once again why she remains at the forefront of the industry. The release of ‘Return to Nowhere’ fits perfectly in these uncertain times. Charlotte says: “I made the EP before the current COVID-19 crisis. After being inspired by recordings of age-old traditional chants. So, I never intended it to be a “Corona record”. However, it did grow on me during this period of isolation.”
