Track ListingA. All I Wanted ft. MON B1. Dreaming ft. Care B2. Say What
DescriptionAs Freerange hits another landmark release with their 300th EP we see label head Jimpster join forces with Philippa who together deliver 3 original tracks which epitomise the labels’ sound over the past (almost) three decades. With recent releases appearing on Slothboogie and Razor n Tape, remixes for Roach Motel on Faith, and James Curd and Robert Owens on Pronto, not to mention her recent Panorama Bar debut, it’s safe to say Philippa is making waves. The Berlin-based New Zealander has a sound all her own with an organic, deep and musical style winning her many fans from Terry Farley and Aroop Roy to DJ Spen and Dave Lee. Lead track All I Wanted sees the duo pooling their influences with both producers sonic touches shining through. Chunky drums and bassline are the bedrock for pulsing synths and MON’s vocal which is chopped up and looped bringing a rolling momentum to the track. Dreaming features the wonderful vocals of Care and goes on a floaty vibe with chiming synths and crusty Rhodes keys layering up to produce a densely textured track. The mood is powerful yet subtle and refined and will work as nicely on a chilled house playlist as it will on a discerning dance floor at 4am. Closing out the EP we have Say What which goes on a jazzed out, UKG inspired excursion. Shuffling beats, bouncing square wave bassline and big brash synth chords all combine to form a track which sounds both retro and contemporary.

Track ListingA1. Freedom A2. Circulate B1. Freedom (William Kiss Remix) B2. Twisting Shadows
DescriptionMathias Kaden returns to Rekids with the 'Circulate' EP, featuring a William Kiss Remix. Mathias Kaden is back on Rekids after 2022’s ‘Blackbird’ EP, this time with the four-track ‘Circulate’ EP featuring a remix from the hotly tipped William Kiss. Kaden’s ‘Freedom’ kicks things off with stripped-back machine rhythm, tasteful stab melodies and a deeply satisfying low-end groove before an iconic gospel vocal joins in. Title track ‘Circulate’ is another infectious low-slung crawler with crunchy synth hits and a hypnotic and classy vibe that will get the dancefloor moving. On the flip, William Kiss remixes Mathias Kaden’s ‘Freedom’ following his recent EP on Rekids' sibling label RSPX and the release of his collaborative project, Not Without Friends, with Luke Alessi and Jordan Brando on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue. Kiss turns the track into a pumping peak-time cut with additional percussion and plenty of his signature Jackin’ Active since the mid-90s, Mathias Kaden appeared on Radio Slave’s Rekids for the first time in 2019 for ‘Liberate Drums’. He now returns to the label with the ‘Circulate’ EP, adding to his versatile discography on labels like Dyinamic and Vakant while also remixing work by Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Anja Schneider, and Trentemöller.

Track ListingA. Guardian Angel B1. Guardian Angel (Stimming Remix) B2. Guardian Angel (Hardt Antoine Remix)
DescriptionPowerful duo Henri Bergmann and Wennink make their Crosstown Rebels debut with ‘Guardian Angel’. Stimming and Hardt Antoine take the single to darker territories on their remixes. Magnetic husband-and-wife duo Henri Bergmann and Wennink blend Bergmann’s taste for melodic realms with Wennink’s etherealv vocals and experimental left-leaning sound. Focusing on supporting up-and-coming talent via her label Automatik, Bergmann has also recruited some of the most notable producers in melodic house and techno for remixes, including The Element, Hernan Cattaneo, and Betical, while the duo's compelling collaborative work has caught the attention of heavyweights like Afterlife - featuring on the label’s ‘Realm Of Consciousness Pt.VI’ VA. Now, following Bergmann’s recent Hï Ibiza appearance and ahead of forthcoming sets at the likes of Zamna Mexico City, KOKO and Amsterdam Dance Event, the London-based couple bring their talents to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with ‘Guardian Angel’. Set to captivate audiences, the enchanting vocal single lands this September with remixes from German house DJ/producer Stimming and fellow London-based eclectic talent Hardt Antoine. Melancholic yet uplifting ‘Guardian Angel’ opens with richly textured choric percussion that rises to meet Wennink's angelic vocals to powerful emotive effect. Stimming’s remix enters second, reaching for intensity over a stripped-back rendition through the driving rhythm and ethereal SFX. Closing out the record, Hard Antoine's remix pulsates with darker basslines and sharper synths, leaning into the otherworldly and stretching the melody into satisfyingly strange sci-fi-esque planes.

Track ListingA. Dripping Diamonds ft. Albertina B1. Idea 6 B2. La Sombra
DescriptionToday, the celebrated multi-instrumentalist and visionary artist Guy Gerber announces his new three track EP 'Dripping Diamonds' on his Rumors label. The rarest of artists in electronic music, Guy possesses the ability to write, compose and record live instrumentation with crushing effect for the dance floor. Dripping Diamonds, the lead song, sees Guy collaborate again with singer songwriter Albertina who previously sung on his renowned Bocat single. The track has been overpowering the dance floor of Guy's Rumors Ibiza Residency all summer and now he’s decided it’s only fair to share. While Guy is famed for his ability to create the worlds leading melodies, La Sombra shows a new level of beauty and cool from him. A song of careless whispers, the track will take its listeners to a deeper place most tracks fail to. It’s Idea 6 though that flexes his live composition capability, bringing in trumpet sections that make the hair on the back of your neck stand while keeping feet moving. An EP, like the artist, that doesn’t fail to deliver.

Track ListingA1. Beats Intro A2. No Beats Intro B1. Danny Tenaglia Presents George Vidal - Out From Obscurity B2. Danny Tenaglisa & Cevin Fisher - Move That Body (Antranig Remix)
DescriptionDanny Tenaglia’s new EP on Nervous Records features “Tonight” and “Out From Obscurity” and a remix of his prior Nervous Records release “Move That Body.” With ”Tonight,” Danny kicks things off with the title track - treating us to both ‘No Beats Intro’ and ‘Beats Intro’ versions. And in doing so - manages to deliver, hands-down, one of the most tantalising and majestically rousing opening gambits we’ve heard in some time. And when ‘Tonight’ finally bursts its aural banks, circa 1 minute 30 seconds - with the most seamless of transitions, we suddenly find ourselves surfing a decadent wave of hazy Rhodes, staccato bass and mesmeric vocal work - ebbing and flowing right up to it’s opulent and wonderfully soporific conclusion. Next up we have DT’s re-rub of George Vidal’s ‘Out From Obscurity’; a veritable pressure-cooker of a track, that spins and weaves a sense of poise, tension and drama which escalates stealthily throughout. A stripped-back, rolling synth-driven’, made-to-measure for the 2024 club floor. Finally - closing this souped-up invigorator of a release - we have ANTRANIG’s remix of Danny and Cevin Fisher’s ‘Move That Body’… a fully tribalized, menagerie-wrapped groove; which wears the sweat, the writhe and all that heat - very much on it’s visceral, live-and-direct sleeve.“

Track ListingA1. Incognito Rhythm A2. Things To Do Remix (With Drama1) B1. Just Saw Johnny B2. Deepest Darkest Jungle C1. High Time C2. Ribena (With Papa Levi) D1. Beautiful Thing (ft. Pinty) D2. All I Need In This World Is You E1. Wutt E2. Pianos Raining Down (165 TO 134 BPM MIX) (With McDonald & Jannetta) F1. Ooh Boy F2. Sound System Love
DescriptionFresh off a rework of Papa Levi with single Ribena, London’s jungle pioneers 4am Kru drop their highly anticipated debut album Incognito Rhythm featuring all the tracks that have cemented their reputation as the go-to act for raw, live jungle music. Having already taken the 2024 festival circuit by storm with appearances at Outlook Origins, Boomtown, Boardmasters, Reading+ Leeds, The Blind Tiger, Parklife Waterworks, Boundary and a milestone Saturday night closing set at Glastonbury’s Temple Stage, 4am Kru continue to draw audiences into the madness of their raucous blend of 1993-1994 influenced jungle. First bursting onto the scene post-lockdown, the falling monitors and flying bodies of their shows were particularly thrilling for ravers who had turned 18 in isolation. Originally developing their live sound in indie bands while sharing a studio in Tottenham, the duo quickly realized that the traditional DJ set couldn’t contain the energy of their act. They have since surrendered to the chaos of their incredibly physical performances, nursing chipped bones and back injuries, deep finger taping, chalking up and wearing shoes designed for skipping rope whilst rewiring what it meant to move their bodies. Their innovation extends to the equipment, with the duo reinventing a way to deliver their signature throbbing basslines with a Roland SPD SX drum pad as thick as a car tire. Their upcoming UK tour this October promises to further showcase their immersive, disruptive sound. 4am Kru’s latest single Ribena breathed new life into Papa Levi’s iconic British reggae classic Militancy following the release of hard-hitting Wutt this past July, setting the stage for their most ambitious project yet. Their debut album draws from a wide range of influences in addition to 4am Kru’s signature blend of 90s jungle flavours, from obscure slow jam R&B like Angela Bofill, Janet Jackson and Prince, early hardcore bands like Hüsker Dü, off kilter Scottish folk, and even classical music. The project is a snapshot of the incognito, nocturnal world that the duo have dwelled in for the past two years, a time capsule of well-worn songs played between midnight and 4am. An extraordinary debut, 4am Kru’s Incognito Rhythm is an immersive, razor sharp, face melting journey through their show-stopping live sound.

Track ListingA. Catch Your Ear B. Meringueatang
DescriptionMint Condition - A record label focused on excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics, overlooked gems and never heard before material, mined from the last 30+ years of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. From Chicago, Detroit and New York to London, Nottingham and beyond. Mint Condition have got their digging hats on to bring you exclusive heat and those rarer than rare jams that have been in your wants list for years. Dig in! Forged in the fertile acid house scene of the late 80s, A Trifle Too Far comprises childhood friends Simon Ward and Tony Grimley from Hornchurch, on London's outer fringes in Essex. Their insatiable thirst for seeking out new sounds led them to countless shindigs, parties and raves, eventually inspiring them to craft their own music based on their adventures on the dancefloor. Their studio collaboration culminated in the creation of the remarkable record you currently hold in your hands: 'Catch Your Ear / Meringueatang'. This two-track release, recorded in 1992, offers forward-thinking and fresh prog-house cuts, as rare as hen's teeth and as exhilarating as they were upon their original release over three decades ago. Catch Your Ear was expertly engineered by Evren Omer, boss of Essex-based techno bunker Strategy Records, while Meringueatang was helmed by Matt Clayden, one half of M&M and Acorn Arts and the proprietor of X-Gate Records, another stalwart in Essex's underground dance scene. 'Catch Your Ear / Meringueatang' remains the only musical collaboration between the duo. When Mint Condition approached them to reissue this highly sought-after EP, both Simon and Tony were surprised and delighted in equal measure by the proposition. Now, a few months down the line, we find ourselves with yet another top-tier addition to the MC reissue catalogue, fully licensed from the artists, mastered and cut by Keith Tenniswood at Curve Pusher, and available once again for purchase. Track ListingA1. Loves Love A2. Beautiful Dancers B1. Limbo B2. Escape B3. Essence Of Time
Description“Loves Love” jettisoned STÜM into 2024 and now “Beautiful Dancers” is here to take him ever higher. As the second single off his forthcoming Essence Of Time EP, “Beautiful Dancers” is a blissful yet haunting take on techno. This track is total club rapture made up of ghostly vocal calls, static-like percussion and howling wind effects. A record of mixed emotions, pleasure and pain all blended up into 6 plus minutes. Speaking on the tune, STÜM says “The songwriting process involved juxtaposing the organic with the synthetic weaving together contrasting sounds to mirror the duality of human emotion.” Third in line is “Limbo”, a heaving acid hit full of hypnotic foreign instruments and vocals. This one gives off a massive street party feeling. From there we head to “Escape” a more dreamy and introspective bell-tone tune. A deliberate breather from STÜM before storming into the title track of the EP. “Essence Of Time” is a shimmering rave piece. Dulcet piano intertwines with airy effects and hammering synths – another excellent example of STÜM’s ability to blend light and shade all at once.

DescriptionThe unstoppable force that is MACEO PLEX launches new label ELLUM AUDIO with the flawless ‘High & Sexy EP’, two cuts of criminally seductive house music, immersed in moody soul, brooding funk and made to be together. It seems 2011 isn't showing any signs of winding down for artist of the moment Maceo Plex. With an acclaimed album to start off the year and a string of hit releases behind him, Maceo has risen exponentially in a relatively short space of time. Many would be satisfied with releasing on such acclaimed labels as Crosstown Rebels, Visionquest, Hot Creations, and remixing artists ranging from Azari & III to DJ T but Maceo is going one step further with an exciting new project that will surely cement his place within the new elite of house artists. Maceo has decided it’s time to follow in the steps of his Crosstown Rebels comrades and launch an imprint to further represent his signature sexy dark house sound. By calling the label ELLUM, Maceo is paying a fitting tribute to Deep Ellum, the name of an underground arts district in Dallas that greatly influenced Maceo's early career. Deep Ellum was a cultural zone that had some amazing clubs and warehouse venues that housed parties in the early 90s, bringing techno and house legends to Maceo's virtual doorstep and launching the career of a young Eric Estornel aka Maceo Plex. The ‘High & Sexy EP’, Maceo's first output on the label, is every bit as sexy and groovy as his other musical works and has been eloquently described by long time friend and fellow Miami expat, Danny Daze, as being "New Wave House". Brandishing deep and dark alluring soul, A-side ‘Stay High Baby’ is undoubtedly one of Maceo’s sexiest tunes yet. With trademark raw emotion, funk guitar licks and penetrating layers of vox in full affect, ‘Stay High Baby’ is an ode to frisky liaisons on the dancefloor. On the flip ‘Ain’t That Love’ packs a bit more punch in the drums but still exhibits Maceo’s signature warm, dark bass and sexy groove. Again Maceo’s unique composition awakens raw energy and drama through the distinctive vocals and cinematic synths without forsaking the groove. Haunting and beautiful with notes of sadness, love and loss, ‘Ain’t That Love’ will hypnotise Maceo lovers worldwide. With a first release of this calibre and style, Ellum Audio is already shaping up as a home for future classics of the ‘new wave’.

Featuring an astonishing guest appearance by house vocal sensation Joi Cardwell, Ellum delivers a late summer anthem with ‘Love Somebody Else’. For the A-side Eric Estornel aka Maceo Plex revives an unreleased Jon DaSilva Remix of Colourblind’s cover of 1979 Jones Girls classic ‘You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else’. Having loved the remix, lost in the heady days of the early 90s, Eric orchestrated a studio session with legendary hacienda DJ Jon DaSilva to make a new reinterpreted version of the track replaying everything and creating a new melodies and sonsstructure, also managing to track down classic house singer Joi Cardwell to lay down fresh vocals and creating a real floor burner as a result. Irresistibly warm, smooth and groovy, ‘Love Somebody Else’ is quite simply massive. On the flip, Maceo Plex goes it alone and delivers ‘Future Musik’ - homage to a favourite Closer Musik track that never did see an official release. Chilean/German duo Closer Musik (Dirk Leyers & Matias Aguayo) released a number of shimmering slices of electronica around a decade ago on the mythical Kompakt Recordings and Maceo Plex’s re-imagining and interpretation of their untitled work employs rich layers of molten pads and laid-back hats until a powerful bassline cuts through the calm and Maceo’s rippling vocals work their magic.

Track ListingA1. Solitary Daze (Original) A2. Solitary Daze (North Lake Remix) B. Solitary Daze (Barnt Remix)
DescriptionMaceo Plex teams up with Gabriel Ananda to deliver the momentous 'Solitary Daze'. An awe-inspiring piece of music; Maceo and Gabriel have pulled out all the stops in creating this anthemic masterpiece. A sure fire dancefloor destroyer! The original is also deftly remixed by Barnt and by North Lake. The A Side features North Lake’s infectious deeper remix whilst the flip features Barnt’s epic revision of the original. Both of which create fantastic versions of the original version, taking it off into new stratospheres. Another great single from Ellum, who seem to be going from strength to strength.
