Track ListingA1. Big Love (David Penn Extended Remix) A2. Big Love (The Dronez Mix) B1. Big Love (Original 12" Mix)
DescriptionIt’s almost hard to believe that a record with anthem status like Pete Heller’s ‘Big Love’ was created out of a happy accident, but that is exactly how it happened. Left to his own devices as his studio partner Terry Farley went to watch a Chelsea game, Pete Heller was playing around with his Akai sampler when he produced what is arguably one of the most recognisable pieces of dance music of the 1990’s. Earlier this summer Urbana Records boss and Spanish powerhouse David Penn took to remixing this enduring classic. Winning over dancefloors in Ibiza and beyond with his signature rolling bassline and infectious groove, the record soaring to both Beatport and Traxsource #1. Now Defected present a special 12” package that features David’s remix, joined on the A-Side by The Dronez Remix, where house masters Erick Morillo, Harry Romero and Jose Nunez lend their classic house capabilities to the track. On the B-Side is Pete Heller’s original, sounding as incredible as ever over twenty years after its original release, once again proving the timelessness of ‘Big Love’.

DescriptionWe are delighted to welcome DJ Sneak to Industry Standard. An artist that needs very little introduction in the House scene… Since being the forefather of the filtered disco house sound in the early 1990’s with his releases on Cajual, Relief, Henry Street & Strictly Rhythm, and his production credits with Daft Punk, he has been a mainstay in the underground scene with his unwavering style. Little has changed in Sneak’s music in this time, as he always delivers his jackin’ signature sound on his productions or in his DJ sets. So we are delighted to have him on the label. There’s no point is going into the usual track descriptions, these are just straight up DJ Sneak… Real House Music made for Real House People on Real House Music Dancefloors. Track ListingA. Nothing Wrong (Love Mix) B1. Nothing Wrong (AYYBO Remix) B2. Nothing Wrong (Club Mix)
DescriptionMarking his first EP on Damian Lazarus’s revered Crosstown Rebels, OMRI. (pronounced “OMRI dot”) steps into the spotlight with ‘Nothing Wrong’—an infectious, immersive dive that traverses well beyond the dancefloor, laced with rhythm, tension, and soul. Dropping in June, the EP brings together a shimmering original, a hypnotic club-focused cut, and a peak-time remix from fast-rising US talent AYYBO. Having already left his mark on the label with his remix of Jessica Brankka’s ‘Musk’, OMRI. now arrives with a statement of his own. The ‘Love Mix’ of ‘Nothing Wrong’ leads the release as a full-blown vocal anthem, layering captivating vocals over sweeping melodies and crisp percussion to create a powerful record destined for both club rooms and open-air settings. The ‘Club Mix’ takes a more experimental route—glitchy, stripped-back, and built for locked-in dancefloors and after-hours sessions. AYYBO adds his own bold interpretation to the mix, injecting a darker, punchier energy that’s become synonymous with his releases on the likes of Experts Only, Insomniac, and HARD Recs. It’s a remix that captures the raw electricity of his sets while reimagining OMRI.’s original through a distinctly West Coast lens. An in-demand name, OMRI. has quickly carved a reputation for transcendental performances at some of the world’s most revered institutions. His sound, shaped across labels such as Hot Creations, Disco Halal, Haccabi House, and more recently through his own imprint Collecting Dots Records, blends deep psychedelia and hypnotic grooves with a forward-thinking approach, with past collaborations alongside Adam Ten, Moscoman, Yamagucci, and more. Set to feature regularly at Lazarus’ Hï Ibiza residency throughout the summer, expect standout sets that reflect his genre-blurring style and connection to the Crosstown Rebels sound as he serves up one of the label's most essential cuts of the year to open the summer in style.

Track ListingA. Careless Drifter AA. Basic Foundation
DescriptionPhantasy proudly presents a new AA single from Ewan McVicar, ‘Careless Drifter / Basic Foundation’. Undoubtedly one of the most prominent and successful figures in UK dance music in recent years, McVicar’s contribution to Erol Alkan’s long-standing London label is a love letter from his earliest days raving in rural Scotland. Debuted by McVicar at I Love Acid at Corsica Studios, and road tested at his own Handpicked parties, each track is a paean to communal party spirit that has informed his musical philosophy. Patient but instantly trippy, ‘Careless Drifter’ coaxes dancers into a bottom-heavy bath of bassline and oscillations, revealing an alluring saxophone break that bridges the rawest end of the rave with unexpected opulence. On the flip side, ‘Basic Foundation’ further strips back this instinct for club composition, dropping the tempo while dazzling with razor-sharp synths. The result is primo acid-house chug, alternating between light and shade, as McVicar’s knack for a melody emerges from his modular experiments.

Track ListingA. No Division feat. XSALT (Original Mix) B. No Division (Instrumental Mix)
DescriptionCharlotte de Witte’s unrelenting single ‘No Division’ featuring XSALT drops digitally on May 29th while she plays six NYC shows in four days (vinyl on 6th June) – with different DJ sets across venues from small and intimate to big and uncompromising. The vinyl version (including the Original Mix and Instrumental Mix as a B-side) gets an early release and will be on sale at the shows. Why the NYC connection? Says de Witte: ‘Launching this single while I’m in New York feels symbolic. There’s something about the city, its chaos, its diversity, its constant movement, that perfectly mirrors the spirit of ‘No Division’. It’s a place where differences collide and coexist.’ ‘No Division’ is the second single from Charlotte’s eponymous long-awaited debut album (out November 7th). ‘This track is another chapter of my upcoming album, and like the others, it reflects a part of who I am. ‘No Division’ is both a call and a celebration. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when we lose ourselves in the music and come together on the same frequency. It reminds us that we are one.’ ‘No Division’: Brimming with an overwhelming, penetrating techno power, this track demands our full attention, with spacey hoover sounds, piercingly hooky main theme, a classic organ sound and hissy robotic spoken vocal lyrics like ‘…cut the wire/break the system/fight the fire/no division…’ It’s a manifesto you can dance to. Charlotte de Witte has an agenda as well as making a killer track; ‘‘No Division’ comes from a place of unity and the understanding that when we come together through music, the barriers between us start to dissolve. It’s about erasing the invisible lines that separate us, whether cultural, emotional, or personal.’ XSALT was previously sampled by de Witte on her tracks ‘Overdrive’, ‘High Street’, ‘Roar’ and ‘How You Move’. Here he provides exclusive vocals for her for the first time.

Track ListingA1. Track for NIX A2. I want to lick your brains B1. No Fap Day 37 B2. Gina doesn´t love me enough
DescriptionÁrni’s Reykjavik-based label NIX builds on early momentum with a third fresh EP, this time from Ocirala - a new anonymous project from an already established artist. Ocirala was born and raised in London and moved to the Bailiwick of Guernsey to study ornithology aged 18, where they built up a database of the local flora and fauna with a focus on birds. Now they emerge from the wilderness with four mesmerising club tracks on Icelandic imprint NIX that are so naughty the artist behind them decided to pick a new name for the project. A global online marketplace for freelance services was used to read out the vocals in the tracks with the instruction to be “cheeky, sensual and horny”, with the result coming in the form of the four-track ‘I Want To Lick Your Brains’ EP. What results is pure club sleaze. Opener ‘Track For NIX’ is a pounding techno cut with vast rubbery kicks, raw claps, dark libidinous vocals, and groans of pleasure up top. It’s an unrelenting banger to release your inner kink, while ‘I Want To Lick Your Brains’ is a punchy, high-impact house cut with slamming drums, as freaky synth stabs and edgy sustained chords are peppered with provocative spoken words. ‘No Fap Day 37’ drops into deep subliminal techno with sonar pulses and bleeping synths topped off with more erotic talk, before the twitchy and funky techno pumper that is ‘Gina Doesn’t Love Me Enough’ adds steamy and seductive vocals bringing real sexuality while the bold grooves power on. Ocirala ‘I Want To Lick Your Brains’ EP drops via NIX on 5th May 2023.

DescriptionA multifaceted artist, who over his career has traversed between singer-songwriter, hit producer, DJ and curator, Ben Westbeech now arrives on Glitterbox Recordings with a fully realised artistic vision on his new album Everything Is Within You. Encapsulating Ben’s appreciation of the power we all have within us to achieve joy and peace, as conveyed sonically by all the musicians involved, Everything Is Within You came together organically. His first full length solo LP since the acclaimed There’s More To Life Than This on Strictly Rhythm in 2011, Everything Is Within You showcases Ben’s artistic development as a songwriter, curator and producer as he steps into his role as producer and arranger, away from lead vocalist. “This album is about speaking the truth. The truth from within. Luckily, I have been blessed to come across the paths of other artists that shared the same sentiment over the seas that dwell. These artists all feature heavily on this record. It isn’t about me or you. It’s about everything that is within.” – Ben Westbeech Spotlighting featured artists such as Dames Brown (recorded by Moodymann in Detroit), RAHH, Karen Harding, DAVIE and Obi Franky, with co-production credits including Honey Dijon, Luke Solomon and Chris Penny, as well as Mousse T., the record was born out of a Glitterbox writing camp in London at Defected’s studios. The collection of records that were made that week became a catalyst for the full album, now arriving on Defected’s Glitterbox Recordings. An artist with a rich musical history, from the release of his mature debut album Welcome to the Best Years of Your Life for Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood, to his chart-topping club records as Breach, and work as The Vision on Defected, the path to this new album has included periods of sobriety, self-work, spiritual exploration and the integration of a healthier outlook all round. Now based in Ibiza, the omnipresent energy of the magical island has permeated into the music on his new album, as well as the influence of his personal and spiritual growth. Exploring a range of genres across the LP, from neo soul to house influences, the breadth of Ben’s musical knowledge is demonstrated throughout the eight tracks. From the blissed-out piano grooves of ‘Times Are Changing’, since remixed by house royalty Louie Vega and Josh Milan as Two Soul Fusion, to the uplifting ‘Do Me Right’ and the emotional soundscapes of ‘So Good To Me’, Everything Is Within You puts the emphasis on the guest vocalists. With exquisite live instrumentation and songwriting that give the record an evergreen feeling, this is a timely album that exudes a contagious, positive feeling throughout, something the world needs right now.

Track ListingA1. Gone Stumblin A2. Gone Stumblin (Dub) B1. Unifying Force B2. Gone Stumblin (Bonus Version)
DescriptionSoul Clap and Haven Star join forces for vibrant collaboration ‘Gone Stumblin’ on Crosstown Rebels. Landing on 23rd May 2025, the track brings together years of musical evolution, late-night studio magic, and the unmistakable essence of a true party anthem. Genre-blending US house visionaries Soul Clap return to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with a deeply groovy and emotionally charged new release, teaming up with South Florida’s rising star Haven Star for the striking ‘Gone Stumblin’ - ushering in a new chapter of collaboration and cosmic storytelling. Rooted in a near-mythical session at Brooklyn’s legendary Marcy Hotel, ‘Gone Stumblin’ began its journey with keyboardist John Camp crafting the original chord progressions and top-line melody. After years of floating in digital limbo, the track resurfaced thanks to Soul Clap’s Charles Levine, who reimagined it with a fresh twist and brought in Haven Star—whose soulful delivery launched it into orbit. At just 24, Haven Star brings fresh energy and vintage soul sensibility to the table—having shared the stage with legends like Patti LaBelle, Jeff Beck, and Sam Moore, while cutting her teeth across genres from orchestral pop to funk-fuelled house. The original mix merges heady keys and rich chords with a bouncing, crisp low end, while the ‘Dub’ strips it back and introduces trippy sonics and heavy low-ends for after-hours introspection. ‘Unifying Force’ leans into Soul Clap’s psychedelic ethos, before the ‘Bonus Version’ of the title cut offers yet another club-ready rework with added punch.

Track ListingA1. Fire Emoji A2. The Sunsetters ft. Hazmat Live B1. Wanna C U B2. The Shine ft. Jon Dixon
DescriptionIt’s always a pleasure to welcome Scottish producer Milton Jackson back on Freerange and this time he joins forces with a trio of Detroit heavyweights to deliver the Fire Emoji EP. Brian Kage is a producer / DJ, founder of record label Michigander and has released on esteemed labels such as FXHE and Planet E. Here, Brian is on co-production and mastering duties and helps bring a raw yet musical quality to all four tracks. HazMat Live is a Detroit native known for his unique approach to music and live performances having graced records and live shows with the likes of Kenny Dixon Jr, Amp Fiddler, Bilal, Soul Clap and Delano Smith. Finally, Jon Dixon adds his own inimitable touch to the release with his deft keyboard work. Jon Dixon not only leads the Underground Resistance live acts Galaxy 2 Galaxy and Timeline but has also performed with everyone from Jeff Mills, Carl Craig and Mike Banks through to Goldie, Leon Ware and Dwele. Lead track Fire Emoji is probably best described as a serious stomper. A paired back club tool which pumps hard and will keep the energy levels simmering on any dance floor worth its salt. Echoing vocals and reverb-drenched hits add a trippy edge whilst an extended break adds extra drama and tension to the arrangement. The Sunsetters lightens the mood with a euphoric slice of chunky, deep house which acts as the foundation for HazMat Live to deliver his epic synth solo, accompanied by lush strings, deep pads and punctuating 909 snares. Wanna C U fuses US and UK Garage sounds to form a taught, muscular club groove which will lock you in with it’s fat stabs, swinging beats and repeating sampled vocal hook. Closing out the EP we have The Shine featuring Jon Dixon on keys, who brings things to a climactic finish with his masterful jazz piano flourishes, UR-esque pads and synth lead solo.

Track ListingA1. Language A2. Pulsewidth B. Skin
DescriptionNathan Alexander returns on NIX with a hand-stamped white label, unveiling the Skin EP on the 2nd of May. Nathan set out to craft techno that drives the body while maintaining a magnetic sense of mystique: “I didn’t want to make techno that felt inherently evil,” he explains. “I wanted these tracks to carry that moment of stepping into a hidden corner of the night, with glowing lights and a strange, hypnotic tune you’ve never heard before. You look around and everyone is moving to this unearthly groove, with no motive but to dance.” This ethos resonates across all three cuts. “Language” opens with sharp synth stabs and an undercurrent of tension - ideal for setting a moody, yet inviting tone in the early hours. “Pulsewidth” follows, a peak-time stomper brimming with powerful low-end and surreal sound design to send floors into a collective frenzy. Closing out the record, “Skin” extends into a seven-minute dive through tribal-laced percussions, warped vocal snippets, and hypnotic filter sweeps. A true hip mover, perfect for those moments when reality starts to blur and dancers lose themselves to the groove. Skin EP is a three-track journey into the thrill of nocturnal discovery, channeling a spooky, sexy energy that lingers long after the final beat. This is a limited release, don’t sleep on it.
