Track ListingA. Fleuron Drift B1. Fleuron Drift (Theo Kottis Remix) B2. Fleuron Drift (Kassian Remix)
DescriptionHugely influential electronic innovator Sasha has been at the heart of the underground almost since it began. He has done it all, from legendary residencies and seminal mix CDs to GRAMMY Award-nominated productions, but never stops pushing forward either with his dexterous and high-tech DJ sets or innovative productions. He had a big 2023 that featured a collaboration with Because of Art and a new single, 'Works Vagon,' and now backs that up once more with this latest outing. The superb 'Fleuron Drift' is a typically epic sonic journey with meticulous synth craft that is ever evolving. Lead lines dance, and background chords add soul as the hypnotic drums lead towards a spellbinding and signature breakdown that will get hands in the air before the chords swirl and circle around the groove like birds on a warm vector. London-based Theo Kottis has established himself as one of the UK's most versatile DJs and producers on labels like Dekmantel and Permanent Vacation. His superb remix brings more energy and snappier, tech-leaning drums with glitchy synth textures, making it more suited to sweatier dance floor moments. Kassian is a London production duo who have released on cult labels like Heist and Phonica. Their version is quicker, with clipped drums bringing the funk under molten chords and rising synth tension that is designed to lift crowds off their feet and into another realm of electronic pleasure.

DescriptionA globally-renowned selector whose ‘Mastermix’ series and impactful, diverse DJ sets have garnered a cult following for the past decade, Numbers co-founder Jackmaster has seen his focus shifted towards his blossoming discography of late, releasing material via Seth Troxler’s Slacker 85, The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz and CircoLoco Records, plus his own TDSR imprint. Here, he continues to showcase his studio nouse with an impressive label debut on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, unveiling two new original productions across his latest EP, ‘Don’t You Want My Lovin’. Vibrant, deep and jackin’, featuring resonant stabs, skippy drums and soulful vocals at its core, the bubbly ‘Don’t You Want My Lovin’ is a punchy slice of house crafted for bustling dancefloors, while the airy and trippy ‘Ode 2 U’ takes things into more paired back territories and journeys through vast textures to unveil a wormhole of a production. Needing little introduction, Chicago’s finest and house music icon, Mike Dunn, steps up on remix duties as he makes his first outing on the renowned imprint. His aptly titled ‘Blackball 303’ interpretation is precisely that: a wicked, acid-laced trip harnessing the original’s infectious vocal while offering an instrumental for those looking to keep things darker.

Track ListingA1. We Trawl The Hurts A2. We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Dub Remix) B1. We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Remix) B2. We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Drum and Bass) B3. We Trawl The Hurts (Deetron Bleep Tool)
DescriptionMan Power debuts on Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ ft Louisahhh. The duo’s first collaboration, a huge spoken vocal house cut, comes alongside three interpretations from Deetron. DJ, producer, promoter, composer, and cultural agitator Man Power makes his debut on Radio Slave’s Rekids with ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ featuring Louisahhh on 12th April. The first fruits of a long-term friendship see Man Power (Me Me Me/Throne of Blood/Optimo) serving up a stomping, big-room cut that tips its hat to late-90s NY house and serves as a bed for the inimitable Louisahhh’s (RAAR) breathy vocal delivery of classic Prefab Sprout lyrics. An intimate, spoken-word vocal from Louisahh weaves through a world of vibrant pads and chords. The gorgeous lyricism of their ‘We Trawl The Hurts’ is underpinned by an uplifting and emotive swirl of melody and a rock-steady beat. Man Power’s love of Murk and Tenaglia shines through. The evergreen Deetron delivers three versions of ‘We Trawl The Hurt’s ft Louisahhh’: a remix that flips the original into a thumping deep techno cut featuring loopy synths and pixelated leads, a stripped-back and powerful dub, and his DJ tool ‘drum and bass’, built for those who like to mix.

Track ListingA1. Blackout A2. It's Just A Dream B1. Wind Breaker B2. Balaclava
DescriptionParisian techno talent AIROD is next up on Charlotte de Witte's unstoppable KNTXT label with four blistering and innovative new tracks. AIROD is known for his muscular and explosive take on techno. The French DJ-producer stands out as one of the few who elevates the international techno scene to new heights. Starting his career in Paris, for years he never stopped showing his ability to unleash crowds and ignite warehouses throughout continents, and he has built his own label Elixir with that same quality flowing through. He once again pushes forward with his own potent brand of techno with this superb new EP. 'Blackout' opens up with turbo-charged drums and twisted, laser-like synths that shoot across the dance floor. A female vocal adds some human soul to this most monstrous cut. 'It's Just A Dream' layers up urgent, high speed drum funk with more flashing synth loops that add light to the darkness of the grooves. 'Wind Breaker' has a haunting lead that drifts way up above the drums as subtle trance energy feeds into the mix and reflected vocals keep things futuristic. 'Balaclava' is the hardest cut of the lot with slamming, steely drums detailed with more ghostly vocal apparitions. “I wanted to share with you the memories that I've gathered from each continent I discovered the past few months”, AIROD explains. “This EP will take you on a melodious yet ultra-punchy journey and transcribe all my travels & feelings from these recent times. Each track brings a different flavour to the listening experience, a path between hard-hitting bangers, heavy melodies and breathless energy. A surprising twist is hidden in each tune that I hope will not leave you indifferent. Just like the EP's cover, which embodies the sensation of before and after listening.” Charlotte de Witte on AIROD’s Blackout EP: “I've been following AIROD on his musical path for a while now. I was very pleased to get more connected to him and to start working on this absolute masterpiece of an EP.” AIROD on KNTXT is a perfect coming together of two of techno's most creative contemporary forces.

Track ListingA1. Price We Pay feat. Karina Mia (Mothership Remix) A2. Mirror Image B1. A Better Tomorrow (Mothership Mix) B2. Price We Pay (Mothership Instruments)
DescriptionOctave One stride into 2024 with a fresh four-track EP that once again showcases their unique take on techno with three new versions of classic tracks alongside an all-new cut. Detroit's legendary Burden Brothers had a big 2023 that saw them release their superb Never On Sunday album, which was a nod to their 90s downtempo project of the same name. The bumper collection traversed deep techno, house, and tech in their usual inimitable style while the pair themselves continued to push techno forward with their incomparable live show at the world's most notable clubs and festivals. They now show that their creative reserves continue to run deep with four more essential tracks. The first one is a new Mothership Remix of 'Price We Pay' with long-time vocal collaborator Karina Mia. The original appeared on Never on Sunday and this version comes on strong with vast rubbery kicks powering a deep and seductive groove. Muted synths roam down low while twinkling melodies fall from above next to the controlled, soulful vocal. The superb 'Mirror Image' is a new track that rides a heavy broken beat. Downtempo chords are melancholic but stirring and have a dramatic sense of finality to them. 'A Better Tomorrow' also gets a new Mothership Mix following its original release on the Burn It Down album back in 2015. Here it is a surging cut with funky guitar riffs and bleeping synth sequences that bring to life the thundering low end. It's a hi-tech and soulful fusion of the organic and the synthetic that will blow the roof off. Last of all is a Mothership Instruments version of 'Price We Pay' that powers along on thudding drums with edgy synth stabs riding up and down the scales. Deft keys shine and twinkle and signature Octave One arps break out at the midpoint to take things to a higher level. These are four more classic techno sounds steeped in great synth craft from The Burden Brothers.

Track ListingA. Parade B. Watchers
DescriptionOne of the longest-serving and most consistently intriguing artists within the fold of Phantasy, U returns to the label with another two-track trip of sonic mystery and erratic magic, ‘Parade/Watchers’. Presented on limited-pressing 12” vinyl with a sleeve riso printed by U with London's Error Press. With the texture and earthy promise of a psychedelic mulch, ‘Parade’ presents a glorious timelapse of acid-inflected minimalism. Unfolding defiantly at nearly fifteen minutes, U’s driving but subtle composition transports from guttural, electronic uncertainty to a wide-eyed denouement in one illusionary transition. With inverse effect but no less power, ‘Watchers’ unexpectedly drops listeners into a rough wash of digital hardcore, spinning it’s initial warehouse chords into a collage of decay and regrowth, a nephilim-scaled journey and arguably U’s most ambitious production to date.

DescriptionSimply an iconic track from Swiss brothers Mandrax and Seb K aka Shakedown, ‘At Night’ is one of the most recognisable house tracks of the last two decades. With one of the most-hyped remixes of the year, artist of the moment Peggy Gou delivers with a squelching 7 minute groover, bringing in that iconic synth motif to lift the production and keep it rolling. Stepping up to tackle this masterpiece with a nu-disco dance track, Tiger & Woods use cowbell to accent a B-boy beat, with drum machine breaks bringing it back to the dancefloor.
