Qwestlife’s dedication to crafting authentic, heartfelt and original disco tracks has been well documented over the course their partnership. The duo, a cross-European collaboration between Southern French maestro Tom Laroye and London mainstay Andy Williams (aka Yam Who?), came together in 2013, and with Tom’s song-writing abilities and Andy’s club track mastery, they were a match made in musical heaven. Using old school methods and analogue techniques to produce enchanting boogie-filled numbers, the Glitterbox regulars now release their debut album ‘Prophecy’ on the imprint, encapsulating the boundless energy of their DJ sets in an exquisite 10-track collection. With highlights including previous singles like the joyous Glitterbox anthem ‘Hit It Off’ and instant party anthem ‘Give Me A Minute’ (the duo’s label debut) the feel-good qualities of this album highlight not only Qwestlife’s production abilities but also their expansive knowledge of the genre. Album exclusives like ‘Can’t Stop’ and ‘Cut You Loose’ show them exploring a distinctively housier vibe with vocalist Alena, while ‘Universal Love’ and ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ could have been taken straight from the heart of a 1970’s disco. Featuring an incredible array of collaborators that range from session vocalist to the stars Teni Tinks, Barbados’ Bobby Saint and the ubiquitous Sugarhill Gang this album is a wonderful ode to the dancefloor and a record box essential.

Hot on the heels of its debut release, Montreal’s Chambre Noire is back with its second record: an EP by Québecois artist Vromb, a veteran producer around since the mid-90s, known in particular for his releases on Ant-Zen. Over the course of five tracks on vinyl (six in the digital version), the artist’s sounds seem to take on physical shapes, like living origami: constantly mutating as they open, close and transform into something else. With attention to movement and boundary-challenging textures, this EP is ready to ensnare listeners in a variety of contexts, from club environments to more contemplative environments.

- B1. Religion Rebel (Passarani Remix)
- B2. Il Vortice
TAMBURI NERI’s WORKS 2 is the first LDDLM release of the new decade. Following their acclaimed EP on Optimo, Claudio Brioschi (aka Brioski) and Andrea Barbiera further their exploration in stripping down their psychedelia. There is a long tradition of slo-mo tribalism in Italian dance music, cosmic or not. But Tamburi Neri dissolve the tribal decorum, focusing on the beat-as-heartbeat, and on Italian language as incantation.
INDIO, the faster paced track, has been a staple in our DJ sets, pure raw energy for when things get settled in darkness. RELIGION REBEL is an exercise in menacing trance-funk, whereas IL VORTICE puts the vocal forward, a track and a story.
We have been a fan of Marco Passarani for more than two decades, a man constantly reinventing himself and rewriting the history of Italian electronics. He here remixes RELIGION REBEL in some kind of power-balearic anthem, a record for, yes, ecstasy and sunsets.

- A Mountains (Extended Mix)
- B Mountains (Danny Krivit Remix)
Few artists strike the balance between the classic and contemporary quite as effortlessly as The Vision. Striving to produce meaningful and honest records, their latest single ‘Mountains’ makes an apt follow-up to their incredible breakout hit ‘Heaven’, the vocal house record that garnered support from BBC 6 Music and Radio 1, as well as tastemakers that ranged from Joe Claussell and Gerd Janson to Gilles Peterson. Teaming up with the exquisite Andreya Triana once more, ‘Mountains’ illustrates the duo’s ability to create records with boundless dancefloor appeal, without forgoing a drop of soul or emotion, as melodic keys and rich instrumentation bring Andreya’s stirring vocal to life. After his acclaimed edit of ‘Heaven’ it seems only appropriate that dance music pioneer Danny Krivit would provide a remix of the pair’s latest offering too, road tested at high-profile gigs like Dekmantel festival, his club-friendly mix with extended breaks and a deep, wandering bassline highlights his signature New York City flare.
- A1. Whistleman
- B1. Firefly
- B2. Voodoo
Brooklyn-based duo Bedouin launch their Human By Default imprint with a silky release entitled ‘Whistleman EP’.
Tamer Malki & Rami Abousabe formed as Bedouin in 2012 and have since established themselves as two of the most vital names in melodic house music. As producers their mesmerising instrument-driven cuts have arrived on top tier labels like Crosstown Rebels, All Day I Dream and Supernature. Meanwhile, as performers they continue to headline clubs and play at festivals across the globe, such as sets at the legendary Burning Man, Coachella, Extrema Outdoor Belgium, III Points, Kappa Futur Festival and Tomorrowland, while helming their own Ibiza residency at Pacha named SAGA, getting ready for their 4th season, which has gone on to become a renowned worldwide event series.
Human By Default is their highly anticipated label which the pair now launch with three of their own original cuts. ‘Whistleman’ opens with smooth keys, shimmering percussion, a warming bassline and gorgeously delicate vocals that send the senses into aural bliss. ‘Firefly’ swings with marimba samples, churning shakers and bubbly synth patterns until ‘Voodoo’ rumbles with Afro-Cuban drums, exciting vocal work, Santur like pads and rolling electric stabs.
- A. Destiny feat. Patrick Kitchens
- B. Drugs feat. Julian Smith
German native and Desolat regular Basti Grub makes a much-anticipated debut on Crosstown Rebels with Destiny. Serving up a stunning two-tracker, the release begins Basti’s impressive 2020 schedule that will see him work on his fourth studio album.
Beginning with the shimmering of cowbells and a subtle rolling kick, the instant impact of Destiny is prevalent right from the get-go. Patrick Kitchen’s soothing vocal tone soon coats the track with a seductive feel, perfectly rounding off a cut that is alluring and danceable all in one. The mood quickly changes with Drugs, as Basti brings us a spinning, peak-time number. In-your-face and unapologetic, prevalent kicks converge on Julian Smith’s captivating monologue that discusses everything from altered states to space and time, to create a hypnotic, floor-filling record.
Having first found a home on Loco Dice’s Desolat label in 2010, Basti Grub has continued to cement himself with an unrelenting schedule of quality releases. In recent times, the likes of Mobilee and Hot Creations have provided a platform to showcase his ever-changing sound.

- A. Fairytale Frequency
- B. Sundancing
The 27th of March will see one of this year’s most sought-after releases, as Paradise founder and Hot Creations head Jamie Jones teams up with long-term friend and Paradise resident Alan Fitzpatrick on Fairytale Frequency. The stunning two-tracker is the debut collaboration from two of electronic music’s most in-demand talents and, as expected, the end result is an outstanding offering that showcases both artists at their best.
The lead track Fairytale Frequency instantly showcases the bespoke sounds of both artists. From the get-go we witness the tell-tale signature of Jamie in the tribal drum patterns and whispering female vocal hooks, whilst Alan’s trademark club sound comes through in the pulsing, acid-twinged lead synth. Sundancing rounds things off. Soulful and soothing, the track is reminiscent of Hot Creation’s early days with it’s warming bassline and deep, emotive vocals, as gentle hats converge on light kicks to form a Baleric-inspired closing cut that tugs deeply on the heartstrings.
As a world-renowned DJ and producer, head of Hot Creations and founder of the global Paradise event series, Jamie Jones has etched out a legacy on electronic music that few can attest to. His personally curated Paradise series offers an international showcase of house and techno’s most recognisable artists. A long term Paradise resident, Alan Fitzpatrick has risen to the upper echelons of electronic music with a constant stream of outstanding releases on the likes of Drumcode and his very own We Are The Brave label.

- A1. Vacation To Life
- B1. Cedar
- B2. Light Eyes
Dream and Green kind of rhyme. Not really relevant but though we'd say. Anyhoo...Tim joins like minded artists aboard our dreamy ship and we're lucky to have him.
Each track oozes class and have been rocking dance floors and deserts alike. ‘Vacation To Life’ is a bomb. Tim's use of vocals in his tracks bring magic to the world. We think this is one of his best ever, ever!
On the B-side of the digital download (is that even possible) are ‘Cedar’ and ‘Light Eyes’. ‘Light Eyes’, another grooving dancefloor winner. That late bassline gets us every time. ‘Cedar’ is a three and a half hour epic that drifts. Buckle up and turn the lights off.
*Cedar is really about eight minutes but we do like to exaggerate on occasion.
- A. Cityspell
- B1. Do U Luv Me?
- B2. What U Done
Tee Mango joins the DOG fold for his first full EP release, although we feel like we’ve been connected for many years through buying his Millionhands T-shirts, playing his excellent releases and having him previously remix Ron Basejam for the label back in 2017. Someone who has always carved his own path with attention to detail and aesthetics seemingly as important as the music, Tom has been a good example of how to make the DIY approach work for yourself since his first vinyl output back in 2012. Millionhands and Millionhands Black have seen the majority of his original material and edits but we’ve also seen him appearing on Royal Oak, Aus and Local Talk and future output planned for Permanent Vacation and his own new label SUPERUNKNOWN.
Opening track Cityspell goes for the jugular with a pulsing 16th-note bassline sitting centre stage while huge washes of deep pads layer up around it. Sirens and horn stabs join the scene adding increasing energy, making this one of those tracks that nails the balance between hypnotic deepness and hyped up intensity perfectly for the dancefloor.
Flipping over we have Do U Luv Me? which kicks off with a simple one-note Moog bassline and syndrum whitenoise snares before some crazy, off-kilter cross-rhythm synth stabs join the party; cue heads running to the booth asking wtf?! Just the kind of wonky, outerspace sh*t that we’ve come to love and expect from masters such as Maurice Fulton or Recloose.
Finally Tee Mango closes off with another absolutely killer cut featuring livesounding drums calling Paperclip People’s Throw to mind with those rasping open hi hats and rolling two beat bassline. A tripped-out female vocal sample and extra acid-esque synth line add to the frenetic atmosphere but melodic arpeggiating chimes ensure things remain deep and musical.
A really strong three tracker we’re sure you’ll agree. Give them a spin out and share the love in your charts and mixes!

- A1. Raver
- A2. Insta
- B1. Midnight
- B2. Hear Me
Beard Man label boss Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with a swinging techno focused four-tracker entitled ‘Raver EP’
Since the early 90s, renowned UK artist and DJ Mark Broom has been cherished for his consistent output of rhythmically charged techno and energy spiking performances with releases on Warp, R&S, Soma, Hardgroove and Blueprint alongside collaborations with artists such as Baby Ford, James Ruskin, Discrete Circuit and Gary Beck. A regular on Rekids, Broom's contributed numerous releases and remixes to Matt Edwards' label - notably last year's massive 'Break 97 EP' - and his next outing sees the prolific producer return with four more versatile club-focused cuts.
‘Raver’ opens with boomy kicks, splashing cymbals and aggressive stabs until ‘Insta’ trembles the floor with rolling snares, driving rides, distorted claps and arpeggiated synth patterns. On the flip, ‘Midnight’ takes retro sounding keys and adds peak time drive with lofi drums, distant vocals and a sleek funk line
sample before ‘Hear Me’ electrifies with a tease of classic 90s-esque lyrics, bouncing toms and elated chords.

amongst the wider techno community, he brings his thundering and infectiously rhythmic techno to Redimension.
'Midnight Sun' opens with flying synths, cantering drums and spaciously sweeping snares that briskly fuels the audio journey into techno bliss. On the flip, 'Dark Yellow' drives with industrial kicks, layered claps, saturated keys and propulsive percussion until 'Dark Grey' concludes with zapping stabs, subtly emerging bass and polished cymbal patterns.
- A. Never Forever
- B. Never Forever (Afriqua's Neverclear mix)
R&S welcome electronic composer Matthew Puffett AKA Future Beat Alliance with his killer single ’Never Forever’ a sublime slice of broken beat techno that originally had a limited release on his “Patience and Distance” album in 2009. It now comes backed with a first rate remix courtesy of R&S regular Afriqua.
A veteran of the UK electronic scene originally from Oxford but now located in Berlin, Puffett made his name in the late 90s with a string of sought after releases on Void Records under the aliases Mode-M and Soul Electrik before settling on the Future Beat Alliance handle. Notching up releases with the likes of Delsin, Rush Hour and Versatile as well as with the storied Tresor imprint, both as a DJ and an artist. In 2019 Matt started his new imprint Reward System to self release new creations.
Life long friend from Oxford, Mo’ Wax and Unkle maestro James Lavelle reached out in 2012, which led to a further creative chapter in Puffett`s story that culminated with him co-writing & programming on Unkle’s 5th studio album ’The Road Part 1’ as well as some singular work in film and television. “The moving image plays a key creative motive in my process,” Matthew explains. “Sound & picture married together is such a powerful combination that always inspires me every time to make my own version, 'Never Forever' is one of my many attempts to try and
Taking cues from modern cinema masters like Denis Villeneuve, Panos Cosmatos, Steven Soderberg and Jonathon Glazer and their respective composers, Puffett's widescreen sonic craftsmanship alongside his irresistible rhythmic sense are a key part of what makes Future Beat Alliance music so alluring; "I want my tracks to guide the listener on a exit route far from this world”

- A1. In Spite Of Everything
- B1. In Spite Of Everything (Two Pianos)
Improvisation is the core of Bugge Wesseltoft's and Henrik Schwarz's collaboration. Technology and the joy of playing often meet and beautiful creations are formed somewhere between machine and human, balancing like a mobile delicately around a centre. For "In Spite Of Everything" the duo plays on two opposite grand pianos. One is driven by Wesseltoft's emotional piano playing and the second is a so-called player piano, in which the keys are driven by motors and which Schwarz controls in real time with a computer program written especially for this piece. The program is highly reactive and sensitive, creating a sparkling piano duet of pulsating energy and wild dynamics.

- A. Plastic Dreams (Nicole Moudaber Renaissance Remix)
- B. Plastic Dreams (Nicole Moudaber Passion Runs Deep Remix)
Renowned record label and events brand Renaissance announce the next release in their acclaimed The ReMix Collection - a scintillating reworking of Jaydee’s 1992 R&S classic ‘Plastic Dreams’ from one of the leading names in techno: Producer, DJ & MOOD Records label boss Nicole Moudaber.
Nicole Moudaber’s spectacular and atmospheric remix of ‘Plastic Dreams’ is already receiving strong DJ support, not least from Carl Cox, who has been playing it out as a highlight of his recent sets.
A track that Nicole Moudaber had always wanted to remix, when approaching such an iconic track as ‘Plastic Dreams’, she applied her trademark tough yet melodic sound, emphasising the jazzy bass notes and famous organ synthesiser refrain, to deliver a fresh and vibrant reworking.
On her remix, Nicole Moudaber said: “I didn’t want to lose the essence of this ground-breaking track. I kept the balance between house and techno and added a little touch of jazz. I was in New York when I first heard it; I was dancing, I was flying, I was connecting with people, I was making memories. I believe I gave it justice, I certainly gave it a lot of space and respect of its original identity.”
‘Plastic Dreams’ will be available as a Limited-Edition vinyl, produced to go toward part of a highly collectable and beautifully packaged 6 release box-set (6th release dropping at Christmas).
The ReMix Collection celebrates Renaissance’s proud heritage which has seen the brand at the forefront of electronic music since its inception in 1992. The concept behind the collection is to put a fresh and exciting take on seminal tracks that are closely connected with Renaissance’s early years.

Producer & DJ Mall Grab has announced his new EP ‘How The Dogs Chill, Vol. 1’, on his brand new imprint ‘Looking For Trouble.’ The new release arrives ahead of Mall Grab’s upcoming ‘Looking For Trouble' tour, including a London headline show on 6th October at E1.
The 25 year old’s latest record follows one of last summer’s biggest house releases - 'Pool Party Music’ on DJ Haus’s ever-excellent Hot Haus Recs, as well as a collaborative EP earlier this year alongside Loods on Steel City Dance Discs, the label he runs with his friends Jarred Kennedy and Jackson Fitzsimmons. Having emerged in 2015 with the infectious ‘Feel U’ EP, the strength and evolution of Jordon’s productions has firmly established him as one of dance music’s most exciting talents.
The new EP arrives in the middle of another busy period for Mall Grab. Having played well over 100 shows in the last year, he just curated the London event Long Live Southbank - a one off fundraiser party supporting the restoration of Southbank’s hallowed Undercroft skate space, which was streamed by Boiler Room. Having grown up skateboarding the event’s cause was a particularly special one for Jordon. About to embark on his much anticipated ‘Looking For Trouble’ tour throughout September and October and with more shows through November & December in Japan and Australia, Mall Grab will close out 2018 on a high.
