    3. B1. Light Of Falling Rain
    4. B2. Time Marked Its Irregular Pulse In Her Eyes

A memorably bracing, momentarily pummeling highlight of ‘Song For Alpha’, Daniel Avery perfectly bridges the light and dark contrast of his influences on standout cut, ‘Diminuendo’. Uncompromising tech-noid drums establish genuine frenzy, matched by a pulsating industrial drone, ultimately collapsing into ethereal feedback, before one final round of frenetic rhythm.

On ‘Hyper Detail’, the intense acid lurking beneath the surface of ‘Song For Alpha’ is dramatically unleashed, easily matching the frantic energy of the previous track, and upping the potential for wide-eyed, rave-friendly electronic hypnosis. ‘Light Of Falling Rain’ is more severe and equally intricate, creating immediate enormous tension and re-lease with a barrage of snarling electro and expertly intertwined mi-crorhythms.

Finally, on ‘Time Marked Its Irregular Pulse In Her Eyes’, the disem-bodied elements of Avery’s studio communicate something cryptic and unnerving as a farewell. The most uncompromising and purely physical batch of material to emerge in the wake of ‘Song For Alpha’, the ‘Di-minuendo’ EP finds Avery on urgent and ruthless form.

    3. B1. Take My Hand ft Brian Temba (SMBD Zulu Edit)
    4. B2. Take My Hand ft Brian Temba (SMBD Zulu Dub)

It’s taken a mere 12 years to get Simbad back on Freerange for his follow up to the 2006 Solar System release under his Mowgly moniker. Not that he’s been scratching around looking for inspiration in that time.... the London based producer and DJ is one of the most prolific artists in the scene having notched up countless EP’s edits, remixes and behind-the-scenes production work for labels like Apron, G.A.M.M. Faces, Hyperdub, Atjazz & Brownswood. His association with Gilles Peterson and Worldwide runs deep, hosting regular shows on WWFM as well as traversing the globe delivering his unique and eclectic sets from Africa to South Korea and beyond.

Collaboration plays a huge part in Simbad’s musical output and for his new release for Freerange he teams up with South African vocalist Brian Temba, whose previous release together Come Join In dropped on Hi:Rise back in 2011. In it’s original form Take My Hand is a sublime, forward-looking deep and soulful house track based around a filtering symphonic string loop, low-slung groove and heart-felt vocal. Simbad has created a very London-centric vibe but with a French touch and Detroit sensibilities, drawing from house heroes such as Parrish and Bradock, joining the dots and creating a fresh masterpiece in the process.

Next up we have Jimpster on the remix, picking up the BPM’s slightly and loading up on his trademark deep stabs, sub-bass and spacious FX adding just enough dance-floor bump whilst leaving the vocal placed firmly at the core.

On the flip side we have two SMBD Zulu Edits which replace the more spartan groove of the original with some driving Afro percussion. The first version keeps the vocal intact, the second version goes balls deep into dub territory, closing out this amazing release with an instrumental pushing the strings and hypnotic groove front and centre.

AXEL BOMAN Love Love Love this.

    1. A. So 1992
    2. B. So 1992 (Radio Slave & P.Leone Remix)

Dutch duo Deep Dimension debut on Rekids with a stomping vocal cut entitled ‘So 1992’ featuring a collaborative remix from label founder Radio Slave and rising star P.Leone.

Jeffrey Hek & Jimmy van de Geijn have been actively DJing for over two decades. The pair paired up as Deep Dimension in 2015, combining their talents to form a signature techno sound comprised of deep basslines and powerful kicks. Launched earlier this year, their vinyl label named GEN X has instantly picked up overwhelming support from the likes of Radio Slave, Tommy Four Seven, Benny Rodriguez, Kobosil, and many more. They now continue their upward trajectory by arriving on Matt Edwards’ respected Berlin based imprint, Rekids.

Thudding kicks are joined by rising synths as pitched up vocals come into play in ‘So 1992’– the result is a rave inspired techno monster designed to throw crowds into frenzy. On the flip, Radio Slave pairs up with Rekids regular P.Leone for a cavernous reimagining complete with rolling percussion, off-beat hats and eerie atmospherics.

    3. B. Emanuel Satie & Mowgan - feat. Endalk & Wude - Argew Neka (Matador Remix)

Berlin-based house and techno wizard Emanuel Satie brings together a plethora of talent for Addis Ababa on Crosstown Rebels. Ninetoes, Mowgan and Matador all join the party to complete this epic EP.

Satie says of the release that it’s “an homage to worldwide collaboration. While travelling through Ethiopia I recorded traditional musicians, brought the sounds home to Berlin and made electronic tracks out of them with my friends Ninetoes and Mowgan”.

EP opener Injera, produced with Ninetoes, is a mysterious and bumpy roller. Argew Neka, made in collaboration with Mowgan, adds tribal song and brings a delicate yet hypnotic groove to the table. Matador’s remix of the latter turns the track completely on its head layering futuristic elements over a harder beat.

Emanuel Satie’s career has blown up since he came to our attention in 2016 with his rework of Late Nite Tuff Guy’s remix of I Get Deep, which hit the top spot in the Beatport charts. He’s won the coveted Best Producer award in the DJ Awards and had a string of releases signed to impressive imprints including; Saved Records, Moon Harbour and Knee Deep In Sound. This year saw his track Don’t Forget To Go Home given the accolade of Essential New Tune from Radio 1 tastemaker Pete Tong at Miami Music Week.

    3. B1. So Dope (Djebali's Congalicious Mix)
    4. B2. So Dope (Heartthrob Remix)

Currently fizzing up summer crowds on his European tour, the Argentinian renaissance man is testing his wares, as he prepares to unveil his third artist album at the turn of 2019. Set for release on The Martinez Brothers’ perennial Cuttin’ Headz imprint, it will herald a fresh jacking chapter for the artist who famously refuses to sit still.
An instant statement of intent, ‘So Dope’, the first taster from the forthcoming long-player, lives up to its name with a thumping NYC swing, loose twanging slap-bass pops, trippy vox overlays, springy rhythmic elements and all essential conga rolls. With its concrete-thick groove, ‘So Dope’ commands an equally robust remixer rollcall. Which is exactly what The Martinez Brothers have recruited...
The bossmen themselves get elbow deep with a warped and twisted bassline that snakes around the stately jacking beat, gradually becoming more warped and wonderful as the track progresses. Djebali follows with a precision contrast as the vocal shots wrap themselves tightly around a timeless 909 beat and subtle tracks of venomous acid while Heartthrob flips it into an all-out rolling techno experience. Dope ain’t the word.

The second in a series of all-time CLASSIC hip-hop anthems from the Nervous vaults, pressed onto high quality dinked 45's.

Remastered from the original source material and featuring the unedited 'dirty' version on the A-side, and the full instrumental on the B-side, these 45's are for the heads who know what time it really is!

'How Many Emcee's Must Get Dissed' is that raw, NYC, Beatminerz flavour, even the video that dropped on MTV in 1993 is legendary featuring the whole Black Moon mob in their native Brooklyn posting up with their crew. Everyone remembers that Timberlands & Philly Blunts rap from the mid 90's onwards, raw SP1200 beats, dusty loops and samples pulled out of crates in the darkest corners of the five boroughs, a truly creative period in rap music and popular culture with many artists who came up in the era shaping the future of music from the streets upwards. Black Moon are one such group, their indelible mark on music is still felt today, the blend of streetwise raps and sturdy, murked out, jazzy beats supplied by the Dewgarde brothers is timeless. They sure don't make em like this anymore and if they did we're sure Black Moon would continually crush the competitors as they always did. Essential New York rap classics right here! Don't front.

    3. B1 Headhunter 1
    4. B2 Baptised By Dub

Originally released on White House Records. Remastered from digital masters by Robert Macciochi with full restored cover done by myself. This EP should need no introduction to Ravers as often cited as an Anthem (whatever that means to you, to me that just means classic and good and still worth hearing any day again and again).

"Baptised By Dub" was originally on World Beat Records with "Virtual Reality" on the flip side and later licensed to White House Records with other tracks and the totally different but equally awesome Re Baptised By Dub by DJ Halo. This Ravers favourite has never been reissued on vinyl in its original 4 track form. it did make it to a White House Classics series but only Baptised By Dub and not the greatest quality.

According to DJ Spatts the DAT's were misplaced in the 90's and only unearthed again in 2014 when I searched the Warehouse. All CD licensed versions on compilations are allegedly a vinyl rip supplied by White House. These official DIGITAL remasters were issued to TCM Records as digital only. This is your first chance to get your hands on what will definitely be the best vinyl reproduction of this music since it's original release in 1992.

Dynamic Range is a new label focused on unearthing deep Soul, Funk and Disco jams that continue to resonate with todays dancers and DJ's. Time spent scouring the bowels of the majors and independents has unsurprisingly resulted in numerous gems being added to the DR wants list. High quality, fully licensed reissues are the order of the day, always taken from the correct master source and re-presented to hungry record heads the world over. To repeat, this is a fully legit operation - Avoid the sharks at all costs!

George Benson's name is legendary, his much vaunted career in music has spanned decades, styles, trends and tastes. A prodigious jazz, funk & fusion guitarist and vocalist, Benson cut his teeth in the 1960's releasing music on labels such as CTI, Paul Winley, A&M and Warner Brothers. He has had numerous hit records throughout his career and maintained the respect and credibility that he built from the ground up, influencing generations of musicians, artists & producers. His 1977 version of the classic 'The World Is A Ghetto' features beautiful string-laden production and of course, Benson's languid guitar playing that graces the wonderful Claus Ogerman arrangements effortlessly. As well as being an underground disco classic, this amazing groove has been sampled by numerous contemporary producers, most notable Moodymann, Kanye West, Bob Sinclair and many more, a testament to the lush production and soul contained within the grooves of this classic. This repress is programmed exactly like the '77 disco promo 12" that record pool members and DJ's would have received and due to licensing constraints it features the same 9 minute 41 second mix on both sides.

    1. A1. Killer ft. Steven A. Clark (Original)
    2. B2. Killer ft. Steven A. Clark (Instrumental)

German producer and DJ Boys Noize has announced the release of his much-anticipated cover version of Adamski and Seal’s 1990 rave classic ‘Killer’ on 12″ vinyl, via The Vinyl Factory and Boysnoize Records.

Featuring vocalist Steven A. Clark, the original 12″ version is backed by an instrumental, both of which you can listen to below:

As Boys Noize says: “Being a ’90s kid I kind of grew up with this song which later became one of these tunes I’d play out at the end of the night. When I met Steven and heard his voice for the first time I immediately thought of that track and the idea of doing a cover version was born. It was initially just for fun but it turned banging and lit the dance floors wherever I’d drop it.”

Adamski and Seal’s original represented something of a breakthrough for both the producer and vocalist, spending four weeks at the top of the UK Singles Chart in the summer of 1990.

Speaking to journalist Dave Simpson in The Guardian in 2013 Seal explains the impact the song had on his career: “Within a week, I went from being a relative nobody – this weird guy at raves, with silver bits in my hair – to a household name.”

Boys Noize’ ‘Killer’ is out now digitally and on 12″ vinyl, limited to 500 copies.

    4. B2. Shot At Dawn (Leonidas & Hobbes 'Deep House Instrumental' Remix)

Shot At Dawn is a scintillating return for a band who have been collectively quiet (but individually busy) for a few years, and (once again) sounds like the music of tomorrow. Lyricist Leon Mayes wills the real revolution to come, Morris's uneasy keys and driving, bittersweet production embodies the UK's collective anxiety/apathy coupled with an impending sense of doom, as we all obediently troop off the cliff like lemmings, while vocalist Michelle Manetti's melancholy delivery is the perfect foil both, recalling Tracey Thorn at her best.

It's a genuine wake-up call for the dance floor that's dropping well with club DJs but clearly has the potential to shine fully on radio. A2 track Warm Your Love is an equally forward-facing slice of sci-fi dance music sonically and already turbo-charging the dance floor with its futuristic feel.

The remixes come from Edinburgh/London duo Leonidas & Hobbes and are the first productions they've released since 2017's summer anthem and Release Of The Year, Web Of Intrigue (from their Rags of Time EP), as voted by some 400+ DJs on Bill Brewster's DJ History podcast back in January. Their Electro mixes doff a cap to Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo) and Daft Punk/Thomas Bangalter, with some Compass Point era Grace Jones/Sly & Robbie thrown in for good measure on the electro dub, while the Deep House variations are more Pepe Braddock’s Deep Burnt meets Frankie Knuckles/Jamie Principle’s Your Love and Orbital…

‘Uplifting electronic pop that takes the best bits of the 90s... a strong sound that is definitely overdue a revival. 8/10’ MIXMAG

Deep house legend Kerri Chandler's mighty "Atmosphere EP" dropped in 1993 and still packs a punch today! A killer, heavyweight 4 tracker of deep Zanzibar, Shelter channeling NJ House music that has always been a big one among the DJ's, heads and dancers. Opener "Climax 1" is an organ driven, stomping groove with piano stabs sprinkled throughout managing to sound tough and subtle at the same time while it's partner "Climax 2" is an uplifting, old school leaning cut with vocal loops, samples and that unmistakable KC swing! On side-B "Track 1" kicks things off with some super, rock hard drums and horn samples woven through those blissed out late night synth sounds, one to get lost in! "Track 2" rounds out the EP in fine style and sounds a bit like Kerri is jamming with Mr.Fingers as the ubiquitous Juno bassline rolls out over some jazzy piano, lush pads, strings and claps making the "Atmosphere EP" a truly essential record with every track oozing pure class.

This has always been a sought after 12" due to it's classic status and has often changed hands on-line for collectors prices. Now it is available again, re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released with permission and in conjunction with Shelter Records, New York City and featuring the original 1993 label artwork.

Often speaking of street life in New York in the 1990's, Black Moon gained cult status via their 1993 debut LP 'Enta Da Stage', one of the most celebrated hip-hop debut albums of all time. The Beatminerz production changed the game, their deep knowledge and understanding of samples, records and digging in the crates gave their sound a real style and edge. 'Who Got Da Props' is the perfect example of this, one of those timeless rap records that appeals to the hardcore and can ignite the party. Truly essential. Every home should have one (or 2!).
