For its newest record, Public Release soars over the Atlantic and glides into Greece to convene with two brothers from Thessaloniki, Christos and Fotis Papadakis, for Cosmic Swimmer, a gentle, lilting sunbleached house escapade.

The 12-inch opens with their soft and cushy original mix of “Cosmic Swimmer”, a charmed layer cake of round, full-bodied hand drums, airy pads, and washed-out vocal harmonies. A breezy, wide-open endless groove that ambles along at a not-too- slow, not-too-fast Goldilocks pace that will easily keep you undulating on the floor or in your head. Another pair of brothers, the Soulwax boys, making a very rare, celebrated appearance here, take the reigns and fill out the arrangement by wrapping it all up in some stone-cathedral euphoric resonance and injecting it with their trademark finger-plucked bass struts. One of their top remixes ever? Perhaps.

The hot potato is then passed to New York City’s Kim Ann Foxman for her take, a more urgent and pressed affair that swaps the organic elements for jittery programmed percussion, strobed effects, and brittle synth licks, all the while somehow keeping the dusting of Balearic feel-good presence intact. Finally, Eric “Dr. Dunks” Duncan jumps into the frame with a tough love acid- flecked interpretation that thrusts the record into peak-hour rave territories.

    1. A1 Rebaptised By Dub
    2. A2 Flynns Theme
    3. B1 Headhunter 1
    4. B2 Baptised By Dub

Originally released on White House Records. Remastered from digital masters by Robert Macciochi with full restored cover done by myself. This EP should need no introduction to Ravers as often cited as an Anthem (whatever that means to you, to me that just means classic and good and still worth hearing any day again and again).

"Baptised By Dub" was originally on World Beat Records with "Virtual Reality" on the flip side and later licensed to White House Records with other tracks and the totally different but equally awesome Re Baptised By Dub by DJ Halo. This Ravers favourite has never been reissued on vinyl in its original 4 track form. it did make it to a White House Classics series but only Baptised By Dub and not the greatest quality.

According to DJ Spatts the DAT's were misplaced in the 90's and only unearthed again in 2014 when I searched the Warehouse. All CD licensed versions on compilations are allegedly a vinyl rip supplied by White House. These official DIGITAL remasters were issued to TCM Records as digital only. This is your first chance to get your hands on what will definitely be the best vinyl reproduction of this music since it's original release in 1992.

With over 70 singles and 9 LP’s to his name Dan brings all his valuable experience into this number by chipping in 3 tracks out of 4.

A1 Pay to win, is an intricate, driving and bass heavy techno floater with a refreshing feel to it and with a couple of suspenseful breaks. M.R.E.U.X loved Pay to win and did a superb job remixing it on A2, a darker and more sequential approach redefine this tune but maintaining the heavy bass line. Making his debut on Crosstown Rebels, AEON founder Alex Niggemann takes us on a sonic exploration of the African continent for his next musical venture.

Allow yourself to melt into the hypnotic rhythm of Zoulou. Ambient sounds are textured with percussion that lures you in. Tribal chants and explosive drums seek add drama as the abundance of intricate layers pull you along for the journey. Bwana is more progressive than its predecessor with a soft drumbeat underpinning it. It utilises that same tribal vocal stab contrasting against harder synths.

Alex Niggemann is an artist who prides himself on being innovative and forward thinking when it comes to electronic music. Over the years, he’s had releases on Last Night On Earth, Watergate and Poker Flat Recordings. In 2013 he set up his own impressive imprint, AEON, in a bid to release music that breathes quality and originality and blurs the line between house and techno. Recently celebrating its fifth anniversary, AEON is now a fully fledged brand and has played a part in bringing now established artists such as Denis Horvat, Speaking Minds and TVA to the forefront of the scene.

Perplexer drops the listeners into an utterly obscene bassline that is guaranteed to cause uproar on the floor. This is neatly followed by the rhythmic drums of Don’t Know Disco, a track that is altogether darker than its title would suggest. Last up, Derober is driving with an insatiable groove and an energising bounce.

Sizeup, the alias of Jamie Burley, has had a passion for electronic music from a young age, hauling a bag of vinyl to his school discos with choice wax from legendary producers including Frankie Knuckles, Kevin Saunderson and Todd Terry. Roy Davis Jr. needs little introduction as one of Chicago’s finest house music producers, releasing on labels like Peacefrog, FXHE, Large Records, Cajual, Strictly Rhythm and Daft Punk’s Roulé, producing for artists like Faith Evans, Mary J Blige, Patti LaBelle and Morcheeba, not to mention creating one of electronic music’s greatest anthems, ‘Gabriel’. An in-demand remixer, Roy Davis Jr’s early work on Sex Trax – DJ Duke’s sub-label to Power Music - was some of his finest, particularly two renditions of fellow Chicagoan producer Nate Williams.

Released in ’94, Roy’s Deathwish Mix of ‘Club Patrol’ is a moody and psychedelic cut complete with stomping kicks and twisted synths - the track was a staple in the sets of DJs like Andrew Weatherall. Meanwhile, Roy’s Total Recall Mix of ‘Klimax’ dropped a year later and features heady piano riffs, crunchy snares and sweeping effects.

Born the 26th of October 1956 in Aïn Azel near the Algerian city of Sétif, Nourdine Staïfi, real name Larbi Smati, was very young when he emigrated to the French Chambéry region.
After having recorded 'Sraoui' style songs, his real devotion as a singer took place in 1978 when publishing the song 'El Ghorba S'hiba', a disco version of a traditional East-Algerian piece. This song would revolutionize the modern Algerian music, and made Nordine one of its most important protagonists of the 1980s.
For nearly ten years he dedicated himself to the modernization of his music, traversed by the themes of exile, love and the nostalgia of his country.
Nourdine Staïfi died prematurely on December 17th 1989 in France, at the age of 33.

    4. B2. Koro-Koro (Dub Dance II)

Presenting a fully legit, remastered and repackaged reissue of this legendary afro-house classic for 2018.

London's Warriors Dance label was a unique operation and a pioneering London label during the late 80's acid house phenomena. Home to an assortment of DJs, MCs and soundmen, they went on to make their own original and indelible mark on the rave scene from the infamous 'Addis Ababa' studio on Harrow Road on the North-West side of the city. A former reggae and soul studio that was instrumental to the output of influential artists like Soul II Soul and more, a steady diet of reggae, bass, hip-hop, house and techno kept their edgy, and diehard UK sound and style right at the cutting edge of the dance music underground across the globe with the top DJs and producers of the day celebrating the label. The studio, helmed by label owner Tony ‘Addis’, acted as an incubator for artists whose names would go down in the history books.

Tony's own No Smoke, a project with associate Fred McPablo, was one such name, and their 1989 uber classic 'Koro Koro' is a record that should need no introduction. A record that gained fame in its native London through being absolutely caned by the cream of the crop of the nascent acid house scene at the time. 'Koro Koro' was one of those records that had DJ's and dancers clamouring to get a copy, so much so that it was subsequently picked up and licensed by labels in the USA where the record had fallen into the hands of DJ's such as Tony Humphries, Masters At Work and many more, fast becoming an all-time classic in the states too. Essentially 'Koro Koro' birthed a new style of House and Techno music, fusing together tribal, African and percussive elements with analogue synths, hardcore street-style drum programming and a warehouse attitude. All very Warriors Dance indeed! This is basically one of those classic records, completely essential. All killer, no filler!

The EP is presented again, in its full 1989 form with all 4 cuts intact. No edits, no remixes, just the pure unadulterated WD vibe, featuring original label artwork tweaked by Atelier Superplus and lovingly remastered by Optimum Mastering, Bristol, UK. Special thanks to Nicky Trax & Tony Addis. Proudly distributed by Above Board distribution. 2018.

Presenting a fully legit, remastered and repackaged reissue of this extremely sought after, cult 1991 EP. Brand new for 2018.

London's Warriors Dance label was a unique operation and a pioneering London label during the late 80's acid house phenomena. The studio, helmed by label owner Tony ‘Addis’, acted as an incubator for artists whose names would go down in the history books.

Some of the raw talent that passed through the legendary WD studios appear on this extremely rare various artists EP from the dawn of the 1990's - Addis Posse, Melancholy Man, Watt Noize & No Smoke all feature. Drawing on the breakbeat heavy, more Hip-Hop orientated style the crew were known for this one's packed full of pure London street sounds all fused with the Techno and House sensibilities that made the label so potent. Let's bear in mind all of this stuff pre-dates the incoming Jungle scene by a good few years, but the seeds and attitude are there for all to see. Brimming over with rough and tough left-field sounds 'Warriors Dance After Midnight' is a strong statement of intent, 4 blistering and obscure cuts from the depths of Harrow Road. Crucial and essential. This EP has always been one of the 'tougher' WD records to track down with used copies and white labels changing hands for big money, a must for any fans of this sound. If you like your music rough, tough, deep and no nonsense, then this one's for you!

Norwegian artist Tarjei Nygård first touched upon the ESP Institute spectrum in 2016 with a limited-edition red flexidisc of 'Bleusa', which accompanied issue 21 of New York City’s acclaimed Love Injection fanzine. Since then, his poetic offerings have been a staple in our arsenal (especially during Summer), for their ability to effectively dictate mood is second to none. Across the four tracks on this debut EP, Tarjei paints quite viscerally using the fundamental tools of melodic and rhythmic hooks, and while that may sound obvious on paper, its this deliberate approach to songwriting that brings his productions to life. 'Bleusa' is literally dripping with fantasy and adventure — island pads, golden bent notes, even a cameo bird-call from the infamous Acid House loon — yet Tarjei exhibits a mature level of restraint, a highly sophisticated sleaze thats recognizable to refined pleasure-seekers. 'Forus Echo' furthers this notion but expands into full-blown rapids of ecstasy, coasting over soft-thumping percussion that mimics the human heart while smothering the listener with concentric waves of synth feedback. On Side B, Tarjei shifts to a strong rhythm dynamic — the demented 'Lost In Lindos' is an aquatic breakbeat thats both deep and buoyant, a malleable tool that works at any BPM — not specifying particular references but skirting the ballpark of early turntablism. 'Øylie' closes the EP with a familiar ESP prescription; we lie on our backs, finger-painting in the opium smoke above, feeling the warm embrace of collective consciousness while telepathically harmonizing plans for our utopian future.

With its airy pads and shrouded ambience, “Hammers” drives a 303 bass line right through its centre, perfectly balancing the tracks emotive and darker sides.
Hodge (Livity Sound/Hemlock) comes on board with an industrial sized remix, carving out some heavyweight tribal drums and additional percussion and letting the acid do its tweakable thing.
“Denergy” meanwhile channels some electro tinged bassline moves over super funky, tight drums, a flourishing acid line, and laced with the futurism and sound aesthetics that’s keeping James Welsh at the top of his game.

Fittingly, the reissue will be released on a limited lenticular edition of 500, alongside a standard edition both with heavyweight vinyl. LOTP (Sam Eastgate, Andrew Faley, Ross Dawson and Sam Potter) were a band of inter-dimensional musicians who landed in the late noughts, whose wild journey took them from the quiet North West Leicestershire countryside to the stages of Coachella, Tokyo and beyond, touring with the likes of Soulwax and Justice. Their music was a mutant take on pop that described the chaos of being a teenager by looking forwards and backwards over and over again until the present moment started to make sense. Following the release of Fantasy Black Channel they put out singles ‘Blueberry’ and ‘Best In The Class’ in 2010, picking up fans from Mike Skinner to Dave Grohl along the way. Talking in a 2014 interview, Grohl exclaimed, “They blew my fucking mind. They’re called Late of the Pier. They made one record and disappeared. […] They use crazy computers and then they rock and it sounds like dubstep for one minute, then it’s a crazy prog thing, and it’s like, ‘Wow’.”

Late Of The Pier announce a special 10th anniversary edition of their cult debut album ‘Fantasy Black Channel’, produced by Erol Alkan and released in 2008 to great acclaim. Fittingly, the reissue will be released on a limited lenticular edition of 500, alongside a standard edition both with heavyweight vinyl. Both reissues are accompanied by a digital companion album of unreleased demos and outtakes from the album recording sessions – set for release through Alkan’s Phantasy Sound label, landing in stores on 18th January 2019.

The ‘Vigilans’ EP combines wide-ranging elements - a heavy, guitar riff on the title track, unhinged drumming, zippy synth melodies and distinctive sounds - to stamp the Innellea identity on a bold and high-energy record. They push limits and refuse convention in fine style, making for a standout entry in the Afterlife catalogue.

The third outing on Øyvind's private Moonlighting label. The long time Oslo DJ and producer unveils some deep, late night house sounds from the frozen North. Ice cold synths, stuttering drum machines and melodic motifs grace this 12", all lovingly collaged and channelled through Morken's own unique style and sound. 2 tracks of hardware laced expressionism recorded in Oslo at his home studio and spread across a side each on a super nice 12" pressing. For the uninitiated, Morken has long been a representative of Norway's dance music underground and his reputation as Jaegers weekly resident DJ in Oslo has earned him worldwide respect where he has booked Theo Parrish, Levon Vincent, Mark E, Beautiful Swimmers, Mark Seven, Ron Morelli, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Hunee, Floating Points & loads more! With very tight links with Sex Tags, Todd Terje and Prins Thomas and with releases on Olsen, LIES, Full Pupp & Mysticisms, Øyvind is a very busy man! Moonlighting is his own personal label platform and venture where he releases his own music and ideas. The previous 2 releases on the label disappeared in record time (no pun intended!) and are feverishly sought after by those who snoozed! Quality Norsk vibes on this one, sure to find a home in the most discerning DJ's bags. Super limited pressing on this one!

    1. A Take Me to the Bridge
    2. B Jumpin' (Get Hot, Hit the Spot)

The very first in a series of remastered classics and rarities from the Unidisc vaults sees Vera's anthemic and highly sought after 'Take Me To The Bridge' kick things off.
Originally released in 1980 and featuring the vocal talents of Patricia Masi and the production sounds of Louis Toteda (Nightlife Unlimited) this soaring and sultry synth driven Disco jam has long been a favourite among DJ's and diggers searching for those more esoteric dance-floor grooves. Often sampled, edited and copied, the original truly cannot be beaten in any way. A total underground Disco classic!

Vera was one of many Canadian studio projects that released on Unidisc during the late 70's and early 80's when the label home to numerous stars of the scene and many hit records. The group cut 2 LP's and released a handful of singles and EP's during their lifespan but the magic of 'Take Me To The Bridge' is what brings us here. Backed with 'Jumpin' (Get Hot, Hit The Spot)' - another piece of slick, synth and vocoder driven early 80's Disco, this record is a long time want for many and original copies can be tricky to track down, often costing quite a bit of money on the used market. Avoid the sharks and purchase this official repress.

These are brand new reissues courtesy of the label and have been remastered and repressed using all of the original source material. Above Board distribution are proud to partner up with Unidisc to bring these classics back into the marketplace. Keep them peeled for more top quality represses incoming for 2019.

    1. A Love To The World - KON's Lots Of Love Remix
    2. B Love To The World - KON's Lovestrumental

Christian 'Kon' Taylor's KonTemporary imprint goes from strength to strength! This, the third release sees the Boston crate diggin' selector, producer and remixer extraordinaire reworking the mighty sounds of L.T.D.'s roof-raising 'Love To The World'.

L.T.D., an acronym of Love, Togetherness and Devotion were a highly respected and dope 70's Soul and Jazz Funk outfit fronted by the powerful Gospel-tinged vocals of one Jeffrey Osborne, whose powerful tenor voice gave their music some serious weight! Heavily revered among music lovers and often sampled throughout hip-hop and dance music (check out 'Cuttin it up', Llove ballad', 'Holdin on' & 'Back in love' for proof!) One of the group's biggest and most well-known cuts was 'Love to the world', a track that got love from the hardcore dancers, B-boys and old-school heads alike. As usual, Kon has taken this classic into a new realm with his own unique arrangement and use of ad-libs and unheard instrumentation, all taken from the master tapes and lovingly reworked. It's a difficult task to breathe new life into the classics, but Kon always comes up trumps with his fresh ideas and expert ear. Now you can catch these super heavyweight 12" versions, including an epic 9 minute plus instrumental mix, all expertly tweaked by Kon and mixed by Scott 'Supe' Stallone at Found Sound, Philadelphia.

Promo's, edits, mega-mixes, the record pools, white labels, acetates, reel to reels.

All of the above were the weapons of choice for the disc jockey's of yesteryear, utilising these tools helped various luminaries pave the way for where we are today on the modern dance-floor. Those 'secret' mixes, 'private' versions and edits of the hottest Disco jams that only the select few had access to could make or break a DJ's reputation in the clubs and on the streets.

It is within this world that the For Discos Only label operates, sourcing the finest underground edits and mixes for the Discotheques. We carefully hand pick and dig for obscure or forgotten versions of the best tracks that may have been previously out of reach for the majority, inviting the hottest editors and mixers to open up their archives and share their secret weapons with us all via the medium of the 12" record.

Our second offering pulls together 2 of THE biggest edits from the last 20 or so years, so big in fact that they are regarded as classics of the genre. 2 absolute monsters that now fetch tidy sums in their original forms. That's right, we've asked the mighty Revenge to give us their versions of BOTH Hot Chocolate's 'Heaven's In The Back-Seat Of My Cadillac' AND Gwen McCrae's 'Keep The Fire Burning' and they agreed! We then cleared both of these versions to be released on FDO with the license owners and catalogue controllers, had them remastered and pressed onto a high quality 12" for your maximum playback, dancefloor pleasure. This is one essential 12" for any serious lovers of the Boogie, Funk, Soul and Disco underground, boasting 2 of the largest reworkings to ever come out of bonnie Scotland. Do not sleep on this!

These versions are designed to remind the dance-floor of where we came from musically in a respectful, modern fashion. Giving a nod to the pioneers who came before us in the DJ booth. Absolutely essential tracks for the late night dancers. All mixes are 100% legit, licensed and sanctioned. For Discos Only is a BOOTLEG FREE zone. Too legit to quit.

Managed by producer Fede Lng, this imprint is a spin-off of his already successful parent label Axe On Wax, which is responsible for exposing the world to such artists like Kirk The Flirt, Jesse Bru, Trudge, and Mall Grab.
Although Axe On Wax specializes in a more traditional sense of house music, PNP appears to be all about the disco - a way in which Fede and his friends can release edits of their favorite tunes of old. For DJs looking to spice up their sets with unadulterated funk, look no further than their upcoming record PNP 003, which features songs by Tom Jay, Braga Circuit, Pacific Bureau, and Fede Lng himself.

Absolutely ESSENTIAL record right here - The Underground Solution aka The 'S' Man aka the legendary Roger Sanchez is a name that you should all be familiar with by now, and his 1990 ANTHEM 'Luv Dancin' is an NYC deep house benchmark. That's right, this originally came out in 1990. That's a heck of a long time ago. Thing is, this record, when played at the right time will still cause maximum damage in the club. Riffing on disco classic 'Is it all over my face' and with elements of 'The bottle' interspersed with a deep, rolling garage bassline and dreamy keys and pads Sanchez crafted a solid gold cut, a timeless piece of dance music that still inspires today and is often imitated yet obviously never bettered! The flipside cuts 'Deep in my mind' and 'Afterthought' are also sublime exercises in the deepness, The 'S' Man's trademark eerie pads, bleeps and dope drum programming evident throughout, making these tracks huge hits from NYC to Sheffield and beyond! This whole EP is flawless and if you dig the deeper side of this stuff then you're in for a treat - Now's your chance to bag a bonafide, hands down classic record!

'Luv Dancin' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2017.

Undoubtedly one of the most addictive records of 2017, CamelPhat & Elderbrook’s ‘Cola’ has been a defining musical moment of the year. Growing exponentially since its release, the track has captivated tastemakers, DJs and clubbers alike, topping charts and blowing up worldwide to become a true modern anthem. Leading on from the success of the original and some heavyweight remixes, three of which hit the Beatport top ten – for the first time on vinyl, comes a remix package set to continue ‘Cola’s’ dance floor domination.

Rising superstar Franky Rizardo’s suitably heavyweight remix comes correct with a club-friendly update that elevates the unmissable vocal hook and bottoms out the breakdown. Dario D’Attis’ vinyl exclusive mix continues the club feel with rolling grooves, teasing breakdowns and shuffling hi-hats in a remix which packs a punch, guaranteed to get people moving from the get-go. Mousse T. flips the track completely, bringing those Glitterbox vibes to Defected, taking ‘Cola’ to the next level and going straight to Traxsource #1 in the process.

Techno, Disco, Italo, Electronics, House, Library, Cosmic and Ambient frequencies - These are the bedrocks of the Midnight Drive ethos and sound. A label shining a light on overlooked or unheralded creations and respectfully reissuing them for the contemporary audience. A label that respects and understands the connection between these disparate and sometimes forgotten forms of musical expression and celebrates them. Midnight Drive are extremely proud to present a long out of print and highly sought after NYC ambient techno classic - Code 6's 'Untitled' EP from 1993.

In the early 1990's, Code 6 was a side project by Joey Beltram. A name that is extremely well known and respected in the world of dance music, a true techno stalwart with a hugely impressive catalogue of music, including more than a few classics and with a DJ and production career that spans almost 3 decades.Recorded in 1993, this 4 track EP is a departure from the style Joey was most associated with during this time period, favouring a more ambient, breakbeat driven and esoteric aesthetic. Contained within is 4 wide-screen snapshots of sci-fi drenched emotion, a raw, melodic tour de force that leaves the listener wanting more. It's easy to make lazy comparisons with other sonic emanations of the time from Sheffield, Belgium, London and Cornwall in terms of feel, but the 'Untitled EP' is very much it's own planet, a truly original set of short but effective techno-vignettes that still captivate today in 2018. All of the tracks on this reissue have been remastered from Joey's DAT archive, with the exception of 'Tempest' which was transferred from his mint personal copy of the record. All efforts were made to respectively maintain the sonic integrity of this fantastic, lost record.

SoulPhiction’s Nervös Mix is a production in two parts, leading with synth lines on deep and intense keys then ascending into disco glory. Detroit DJ Norm Talley takes a classic house approach with piano riffs and sharp hi-hats, adding another edge of genuine old skool sound to this release.

It’s been over two years since Talaboman’s ‘Sideral’ EP, a joint release out on Hivern Discs and Studio Barnhus. It was John Talabot and Axel Boman’s collaborative debut and marked a new sound for the pair, consisting of rich synth motifs and vivid, afro-infused drum programming.

The two electronic artists have been independently successful in their respective careers, responsible  for some of the most well-received dance releases in recent years (including Talabot’s ‘fin’ LP and Boman’s ‘Family Vacation’ LP) . Featuring on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Young Turks and !K7, Barcelona-based Talabot has become known for his unique take on chugging house and electronica. Similarly, Boman’s refined his own dusky aesthetic via Pampa, Hypercolour and his own Studio Barnhus imprint.

Now, the pair come back together with an album’s worth of material in a release titled ‘The Night Land’. Due for release on [date], via R&S records, ‘The Night Land’ continues Talaboman’s head-first dive into the deeper reaches of their conjoined musical creativity.

Nothing’s really changed since their first release, apart from the fact that this time round they produced (in their own words) an “absurd amount of music”. Writing sessions spread out across studios in Barcelona, Stockholm, and Gothenburg have given space to nascent ideas, where the two have been able to mature their sound.

The music is patient and warm, but also broad and diverse. ‘Midnattssol’ opens with atmospheric tropical panoramas, coloured by rhythmic stick hits and bell chimes. ‘Safe Changes’ and ‘Brutal Chugga-Chugga’ are hazy slow burners that crawl at a nonchalant pace, while tracks like ‘Samsa’ and ‘The Ghosts Hood’ are contrastingly more immediate and assertive.

‘The Night Land’, as the title suggests, “is a journey inwards, an attempt to reach our subconscious and to document our dreams. We want to ignite hope and push imagination. Close your eyes and open your mind.” Even when many tracks involve the heavy use of synthesisers and distortion, Talaboman have been sure to keep things sounding organic and light.

There is no complicated message or hidden concept behind this release, it’s simply “two persons meeting and playing music, a catalan and a swede talking blip blop until we felt that we had something worth saying” - and perhaps unsurprisingly this impromptu style of working has resulted in an album that is rich and vivid, but also feels somehow pure and sincere.

The message is clear: “Love is all this world needs. Loosen up those tight fists and give your sisters and brothers a helping hand and dance your anger away.”
