A new year, a new VisionQuest excursion: rising Romanian Floog is our navigator for this mission and he’s coordinated a precision interstellar trip to ease us into a new season.
The timing couldn’t be better. Momentum made via his debuts on the likes of Crossed Grooves and Atipic, ‘Suprapus’ is Floog’s boldest, furthest reaching EP to date as he continues to map his own name around the cosmos.
‘Suprapus’ takes the lead. Romanian for superimpose, it lives up to its title as layers weave with natural ebb and flow. The sense of timelessness is another strong superimposed weave as we’re immersed in a haze of foundation elements and a strong rolling funk while driven by future focused beatcraft and production.
This theme is continued on ‘Staring At The Sun’. Another wistful piece that stares up with hope but runs with such groove hypnosis you lose any temporal senses, it’s both heads-down and shades-down as Floog rolls out into the centre of solar system.
Finally ‘Premiza’ brings us back home. Darker, gruffer, trippier and relentlessly driving. There’s some serious noir magic at play on the tweaked drums, creepy arpeggios and overall sense of tension. Transition in 2019 complete, but don’t get too comfortable... Another VisionQuest excursion is awaiting imminently.
Grammy-nominated producer Nic Fanciulli joins Radio Slave’s Rekids this February with two thumping cuts entitled ‘Understand’.
Having appeared before as a remixe r of Radio Slave’s seminal ‘Grindhouse’ in 2012, Saved Records founder Nic Fanciulli now finally joins the Rekids imprint for the first time with original material. Highly regarded for holding residencies in some of the biggest super clubs in the world like Ibiza’s Space and Pacha, the longstanding British DJ is also responsible for four legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. His production distinction spans to a revered Grammy nomination at the age of only 26 for Best Recording Remix as part of Buick Project, to his acclaimed debut album 'My Heart' with collaborations alongside the= likes of British Rock legend Damon Albarn.
The title track opens the release with submarine-like bleeps chiming over a mysterious voice repeating “understand”, while a growling bass dives deep beneath a thundering drum groove. On the flip, ‘Where U At’ features mesmerising vocal cries that flutter between upbeat stabs and bouncy percussion that expertly bolsters a driving low end.
Erol Alkan welcomes Joshua James to Phantasy for his debut release ‘Coarse’ featuring The Bunker NY producer Justin Cudmore on remix duties.
A fixture of London’s dedicated queer club scene, James maintains a trio of distinct residencies, including XOYO, the notorious 'Savage' parties, as well as fortnightly on Rinse FM. On this unapologetic and upfront track, the DJ-turned-producer instantaneously captures the raw energy and sexuality that underpin his life by night, backed by a remix from a key figure in the US underground, Justin Cudmore.
Designed with sweatboxes and serious sound-systems in mind, ‘Coarse’ wastes no time in establishing its rude intent; hammering jack-bass, orgasmic cut-up vocals and larger-than-life synthlines flirt expertly from the off, before the track descends into outright sleaze in the spirit the of gnarlier edge of acid-house. Only a series of breathless gasps indicate you’ve safely reached the other side… A personal weapon for James each week behind the decks, as well as for Phantasy founder, Erol Alkan, ‘Coarse’ is a powerful dancefloor paean with only one (well, maybe two) things on its mind.
Having turned heads with his own uncompromising acidic perspectives on labels such as The Bunker NY, Phonica White and Honey Soundsystem, New York-based DJ and producer Justin Cudmore unfurls ‘Coarse’ in a trippier, deeper direction, nonetheless still bumping in a style that subtly recalls the peak-time sound of classic 90s NYC clubs like The Tunnel.
Recondite returns to Hotflush for his fourth release on the label, and his first since 2016.
The signature sound of this singular artist is in full effect across this EP, as melancholic melodies intertwine with rough textures and direct percussion. Moods and styles are similarly varied, as the spaced out atmospheres of Pour contrast with the glistening sheen of title track Silk. Channel, meanwhile, represents the harder edge of the Recondite aesthetic, combining trademark atmosphere with an unambiguously dancefloor dynamic.
The vinyl release of ‘Silk’ will also include an exclusive track, ‘Skeletal’.
Afterlife Recordings welcomes back the Fideles duo for a new EP, ‘Endless Sacrifice’.
The opener ‘Heading North’ pairs the heavenly vocals of Flu with a subtle, acid bassline and radiant melody, setting the scene for the eerie and transcendental sounds of ‘Harmed’ and the title track ‘Endless Sacrifice’. ‘Tynos’ is a more hard-hitting take on the theme, primed for a night’s peak hours. Fideles express a full spectrum of dancefloors moods and kick off the year in style.
Gimpmask wriggled out of the London sewer system to present his take on the current state of the social inadequacies in Britain today. From the poorly conceived Brexit vote to the injustice of homelessness and the countries drug epidemic. His gritty music conveys a certain sadness with its heart wrenching melodies enhanced by vague and distant vocals backed by simple yet solid grooves that serve to deliver a pure urban cinematic experience. Imagine if Banksy made music!
UK DJ/producer A-Future has launched new imprint EON, an output for broadcasting a new wave of predominantly electro, leftfield and ambient sounds.
With a string of releases planned throughout this year and a label launch party at London’s Pickle Factory on March 1st, the first EON drop is a four-tracker with three original cuts courtesy of San Francisco based live act, DJ and producer Sepehr with the full release mastered by Keith Tenniswood aka Radioactive Man.
Known for his versatile sets which range from psychedelic techno through to classic acid, and with previous releases on respected labels Dark Entries and Titonton Duvante’s Residual, Sepehr continues to become one of the west coasts most exciting talents.
EON head A-Future and long-time afflilate UK producer Stratowerx who heads up his Caught London Sleeping imprint round of the EP with a collaborative remix of ‘Thinking of You’
Sepehr’s ‘Cybernetic EP’ is released 22nd February on 12”
The EON Records Launch Party is at Pickle Factory on Friday 1st March
Italian producer Mennie teams up French producer Julien Sandre to release the third of their collaborative EP’s. Previously releasing on Housewax and Poker Flat the duo now grace Infuse with a superb three track EP of exquisite grooves!
The A Side ‘Time On Our Side’ is a deep, textual, bumping beat of a track. On the flip and ‘Pulsar’ ups the ante and jacks the groove with an added dose of tech-n-acid. Finally ‘Telstar’ takes us on a wonderfully wonky journey and bleeps us into orbit! Now on its thirtieth release Infuse maintains the pedigree and once again rocks the floor!
Coming soon will be a very special 7inch edit of the highly sought-after

Dichotomy Records opens up its 2019 account with a four track extended player from Mary Yalex, the German born producer who has made big strides with her music over the last few years.
With a catalogue than spans numerous singles and two albums for her own Yalex Recordings label, as well as 2018 releases for Kann Records and ADSR Collective, Yalex delivers the fourth release on Danny Clancy’s imprint.
Industrious beats and waves of ethereal pads define ‘Here And Nowhere Else’, as deft melodies and chords ripple over this reflective mood piece. This deep sound aesthetic continues through ‘Remember When’, as blankets of warming tones envelope the tribal percussion and considered groove.
IDM soundscapes are abound on ‘Ambient Floor’, whilst ‘Dream Chasers’ offers up a beatless ambient passage that sparkles and dazzles with electronic splendour.
Double Touch are Van-Anh Nguyen and Mark Olsen from Australia. Producer meets musician.
Electronic music meets instruments.
Each track has it's own unique mystery and musical journey. Equally at home at a Gardens Of Babylon party, on the beach in Tulum or in a club set, these tracks bring moody ethereal vibes.
The opening track 'Adagio' is a gorgeous piece of classical music that we can't wait to have an orchestra play live.
The following three tracks bring the beats and the bliss. Emotive and dreamy stuff.
The fifth offering in the opening 12” series by Pfeiffer, the Los Angeles label is proud to bring a mysterious producer to the fold. 9th House made his debut in September 2018 with the dreamy 'Feel It In The Evening' featuring NYC artist Baltra on vocals. With support already from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, KCRW & Radio Nova to name but a few, this latest release on Pfeiffer sets the tone for a busy year for 9th House, with an impressive slew of forthcoming original works coming on labels like Jamie Jones’ Hottrax, Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave, and TEED’s Nice Age. On the A-side, “Iter” brings an agile 808 workout with synth sequences so dreamy you can almost feel them bouncing off the tents at Dekmantel. A twinge of acid towards the end gives it the edge to find a home on sweaty, low ceiling dancefloors. B-side “Mercury” provides an introspective roller to round out the package described by Tom from Groove Armada as the "heads down, 6am groove." Precise drum machine grooves effortlessly cut through the lush soundscapes to hypnotic effect. Both tracks showcase a heavily Detroit-inspired sound, but with a deft modernism.
It’s only been one year since Ireland’s Rebuke put out his first release, yet his original sound has already catapulted him to the top of the class, and he makes his debut on Dirtybird with a two track EP, “Jump Ship”.
The unique way Rebuke uses percussion alongside rolling bass and 90’s-era stabs on “Jump Ship” immediately grabbed our attention, and the cascading drums over the big bottom bass of “The Pipe” is a striking piece of music that won’t go unnoticed in any set.
The latest release from DEEWEE, the record label run by Soulwax/2manydjs’ David and Stephen Dewaele, comes from Phillipi & Rodrigo. ‘Paciencia’ is the Brazilian duo’s 9-track debut album, recorded, produced and mixed at Studio DEEWEE in Gent.
This longplayer follows Phillipi & Rodrigo’s single of the same name; released in November last year, ‘Paciencia’ (single) was backed with a DEEWEEDUB. The release picked up plaudits from Lauren Laverne on BBC6 Music, Dazed & Confused, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Rinse France, Acid Stag, and a host of DJs including Âme, Mano Le Tough, Disclosure, Applescal, Elliot Adamson, nd_baumecker, Tiga, Joe Goddard, Citizenn, DJ T., Black Coffee, Carl Craig, and more. All vinyl copies sold out within 3 weeks.
Described by David and Stephen as sounding “like Stereolab in 2018 singing in Portuguese while a Batacuda band performs at a Brazilian beach techno party”, ‘Paciencia’ (album) begins with ‘Magnetico’, a languid, dubby start, that opens proceedings before the upbeat, organ-heavy psychedelic pop of ‘Retrogrado’. The melancholic ‘Minas’ (complete with beautiful piano, strings, and birdsong), is the first straight dance cut on the album, a torch song, sung, like the rest of the album, in Portuguese.
Previous singles, ‘Mantra’, (their second release alongside ’New Beach’ on DEEWEE017), and the equally acclaimed ‘Karma’ (released with ’Gueto De Gent’ as DEEWEE010) are also included. ‘Barberella’ and ‘Rotina’ show the depth and width to Phillipi & Rodrigo’s sound, before the album shifts gear with the slow techno groove of ‘Face’, and ‘Paciencia’ (single) closes the album with 5 minutes of hypnotic brilliance.
After a brief wander ‘round the garden, Chilean-born Ricardo Tobar returns to the ESP Institute bearing earthly delights. With 2017’s Liturgia, he introduced his creative point-of-view—instantly substantiating a sense of rhythm that was deliberately complex yet slightly rough around the edges, while touching upon his musical origins from the guitar-driven corners of psychedelia— however with his debut 2xLP Continuidad, he leaves us gobsmacked and seeking shelter as he leaps from dancefloor comforts and descends into absolute chaos (in more ways than one). Emotionally, the artist has crossed all previously self-imposed and subconscious thresholds, putting his true imagination on display and exposing an unwavering attraction to all things loud, orgasmic and transcendent. He’s not subtly hinting at a fetish, but opening his arms wide with conviction, abandoning genre taboos and personally inviting everyone to join his enchanted caravan. Sonically, his appetite for intensity is clear throughout—epic chord changes, ascending peaks in arrangement, accumulating layers of grit that build into impenetrable blankets of distortion and feedback—a kind of aural hedonism that translates visually into the potent video abstractions our Mario Hugo has summoned for the album’s packaging. The first single surrounding the Continuidad album is Birds (Continuación), a glorious extension of the album track that conjures imagery of shaman-led rainforest exploration and illustrates the artist’s affinity for Latin-American percussion. The flipside is an exclusive non-album cut La Venida Del Mar, a bonafide big room thumper that carries all the rave seasonings we’ve come to crave from Tobar.
Mahoney's voice vacillates smoothly between ghostly and falsetto, while McNany’s arrangements and instrumentation bump, click, and whirr like a lovingly tuned Rube Goldberg jukebox. Not too surprising, perhaps, considering they named the band after a song by schizophrenic outsider favorite Daniel Johnston, and they cite Harry Nilsson and Roxy Music as influences. - VIBE
Mysterious white label release “ALFA EP” coming from new kid on the block “Alfa Cornae”.
This EP is all Italian, recommended listening: cruising through the Tuscany countryside, riding shotgun in a vintage Alfa. If the above is not at hand, then any local nightclub with a decent sound system will do.
Ok so you climb into your Alfa, a thing of beauty, you rev the engine, it sounds like your ex… in a good way…. This is a serious roadster, we’re not talking Ford Mondao, we’re talking all Italian smooth V8 engine, luxury leather upholstery, the real deal!
You’re on your way to the best party in town, driving down the freeway toward Milan, 120 mph, roof down, a virgin Negroni in the passenger seat, casually smoking on a fat Toscano cigar; you’re on the way to the biggest discotheque this side of the river Po.
Now you’re in a hot tub. You don't know who’s it is but it has bubbles. You turn to your right; next to you is Roberto Baggio. You take a big drag on your cigar and smile at him, he responds with a cheeky wink. Next thing you know you’re dressed as a goalkeeper and everyone’s dancing. Negronis all round, even for the reserves. Everyone is dishing out high fives; there’s been one too many cigars smoked. Gerd Janson is dressed as a lama and the crowd is loving it.
Earth shattering early 80's Bronx sounds transmitted back to us as fresh as the day they were terraformed!
NYC's Easy Street label is known for it's contributions to house music, electronic disco and boogie, but there was a handful of early rap singles on the label too including this megaton bomb from the freshly monikered Lil' Jazzy Jay & Cool Supreme from '85, all the way live. This record has it all, dubbed out FX, vox, cuts and brain frying vocoders..... not to mention the monolithic drum machines and dope braggadocios rhyming.
This is the FIRST TIME this mid 80's rap rarity has been made available on a 7". Both the 'club vocal' & 'dub instrumental' are featured here, cut at 33 rpm for maximum sonics. Made available courtesy of Above Board distribution for 2019. Shout out to Easy Street, %100 legit re-issue, re-master & re-press, essential wax!

Four floor fillers sourced from the Rising High Tape Archive of 880 Tapes and assorted sampler disks. We have lost count of how many Rising High titles we have restored in the last two years but it is over 250 and we are still only scratching the surface.
Two of these gems made it to the Rave compilation series, "Noise 3". The compilation tracks are that classic 1992 SL2 inspired sound that was so popular, using the same vocal sample as the Tango Project 1 Remixes "Original Rub-A-Dub-Style".
The unreleased tracks are a Belgian style hoover track that would of been at home on early KMS Records or R&S Records and a pounding trippy Acid Techno banger. Check out the You Tube video play list as words do not do them justice.
These 2 tracks are unreleased, produced in 92-93 Spencer found them on a DAT that he thought he had lost, in a metal box in his loft ... "I used to play it out on 10" dub-plate back in the day when I used to DJ at Sterns"

The real Holy Grail here is Lovebyte (Original Mix). Have a read of the Discogs thread that inspired this project below, the Artist had to remake the track as the Original Mix was long since lost. The result sounds authentic to the original that was only ever broadcast on Kiss FM by Colin Favor.

Another dyed-in-the-wool house classic here, from all the way back in the golden mists of 1987 on the tiny, cult Danica label. Don't forget, Mint Condition's mission is to bring you the classics too, a nice, new copy to play out in the club so you can keep your original nice and fresh! We care about these things. That's why we're happy to present this monumental slab of Chicago house history from one of the absolute gods of this culture - Mr. Frankie Knuckles - this time operating under his Night Writers alias. We're not sure too much needs to be said about this one, it's all here really, that classic Knuckles deep touch, the musicality, the vibe... Ricky Dillard's vocals encapsulating that feeling when the music takes over, pure abandon. The pairing of these two talents results in what would eventually become a bona-fide house CLASSIC. No arguments. If you're not familiar you're in for a treat, if you already know then you're nodding your head and agreeing with everything you've just read. Simple really - YOU NEED THIS ONE!

Detroit bred / LA based producer Kenny Larkin has long been a force to be reckoned with, both in the studio and in the DJ booth. For over 2 decades this giant has supplied us with some of the deepest, most soul touching and verdant techno sounds the scene has ever presented. Larkin's music is always awash with human emotion, his machine tinged expressions hark back to the true sources of techno music where man always met machine and the soul was inherent. 'Serena X' always sounded like it had been beamed back to us, even in 1992 when she first appeared, bolstered by a classic remix from fellow Detroit techno auteur Carl Craig that saw C2 firmly innerzoning and adding in some trademark stellar chopped-up breaks to the mix. Both of these now classic and monumental tracks are included here, on this reissue, backed by the towering melodic workout that is 'Empirical Reality'. These tracks all stand tall today, a testament to the forward thinking style of Mr. Larkin. Remastered from his own source materials and with his full involvement, it's a pleasure to welcome 'Serena X' back into the ears and minds of today's listeners.
'Serena X' has been legitimately released with the full involvement of the rights holders and Atlantic Records and remastered by Bristol's Optimum Mastering from the original sources especially for this release. 100% legit, licensed and released. Code 718 aka iconic NYC DJ Danny Tenaglia dropped this 'E2-E4' riffing classic back in the mists of 1992. Manuel Göttsching's original track would have been a staple of NYC clubs back then and would have featured in the warm up sets of jocks like Tenaglia who favoured the longer, deeper sets as well as on the play-lists of institutional night-spots such as the Loft and the Garage. The track's influence on a whole era of DJ's and producers that followed is immeasurable and across 3 sublime mixes Tenaglia distills the magic of the original into something totally NYC and club-friendly without losing any of the Göttsching magic, even managing to sprinkle a little Grace Jones in the mix with her fabulous 'I floated on a cloud' vocal sample liberally applied. 'Equinox' takes us on a trip that is emotive, uplifting and warm. This is how House music is meant to sound, respectfully steeped in what preceded it yet moving forward in a fresh direction. Another example of how on the money Strictly Rhythm were in their early days, classic after classic rolled out of the labels' offices and us, the record buying legions, were / are better off for it! This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. Do not sleep.
What is there to say about 'The difference'? This is how it should be done - deep, with soul and conveying a message, house music doesn't get any realer, any purer. Logic, a collaborative effort between Wayne Gardiner, Roger Sanchez, Vivian Sessoms and Eddie Maduro unleashed this monolithic slab of music on the world in 1990. Truly streets ahead this record helped carve a new sound, a new feeling in dance music. Oozing with human emotion and feeling 'The difference' is one of those records that honestly warrants the title of 'classic'. It's B side 'I got somethin' is a slinky, late night groove that recalls smoky, sweaty dance-floors and is all the better for it, this is the real deal for real. Yet another solid, essential release from the mighty Strictly Rhythm vaults, sounding as important, fresh and incredible as it did on it's initial release. House music history brought back into view for lucky ears and feet in 2017.
'The Difference' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2017.
Groove Patrol aka the 95 North crew dropped these 2 sides of heavyweight NYC Garage pressure in 1993. One listen and it's obvious the influence records like this had on UK producers and scenes. Swinging, funked out and tough, all at the same time, 'Need your love' is here across 3 mixes. The original mix itself sounding the most UK-centric for sure. If soulful, underground US House is your bag you'll be needing this reissue for sure! Absolutely oozing class, classic material. 'Dancin to the music' is the B-side, 2 mixes feature, again and it's that 95 North sound - drenched in soul, yet street at the same time. Both versions are hard enough for the heads, but musical enough for the dancers who are deep in the speaker stack. Brilliant stuff for House lovers old and new. This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all cuts, unedited, as per the original release way back when. Essential stuff here. Do not sleep. A worthy addition to any DJ's bag.
Absolutely ESSENTIAL record right here - The Underground Solution aka The 'S' Man aka the legendary Roger Sanchez is a name that you should all be familiar with by now, and his 1990 ANTHEM 'Luv Dancin' is an NYC deep house benchmark. That's right, this originally came out in 1990. That's a heck of a long time ago. Thing is, this record, when played at the right time will still cause maximum damage in the club. Riffing on disco classic 'Is it all over my face' and with elements of 'The bottle' interspersed with a deep, rolling garage bassline and dreamy keys and pads Sanchez crafted a solid gold cut, a timeless piece of dance music that still inspires today and is often imitated yet obviously never bettered! The flipside cuts 'Deep in my mind' and 'Afterthought' are also sublime exercises in the deepness, The 'S' Man's trademark eerie pads, bleeps and dope drum programming evident throughout, making these tracks huge hits from NYC to Sheffield and beyond! This whole EP is flawless and if you dig the deeper side of this stuff then you're in for a treat - Now's your chance to bag a bonafide, hands down classic record!
'Luv Dancin' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2017.
More Strictly Rhythm GOLD right here. An all-time, hands down, unstoppable CLASSIC record from way back - 1995 to be precise. If you don't know this record it's possible you've been in a coma, living in a cave with no electricity or have literally just arrived here on planet earth. Either way, once you hear 'Higher State Of Consciousness' you certainly won't forget it. Produced by Philly's legendary Josh Wink and released by the forward thinking A&R team at Strictly. At the time there was very little to nothing that even came close to this release. The 'Tweekin Acid Funk' mix being the highlight and the version that caught everyone's ears and captured minds worldwide across radio-waves with endless rewinds on MTV and in the clubs. Foreseeing the impending 'Breaks' boom that came around in the mid to late 90's 'Higher State...' was one of those rare moments where a record truly transcends genre boundaries and found it's way into DJ's boxes and bags on every scene. A mighty, evergreen slab of wigged out, acidic, breakbeat chaos. Essential. This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. Do not sleep.
Reality Check - A one-off project from Freddy Turner & Jason Hernandez who dropped this soulful, street-tough slice of House on Strictly Rhythm back in 1998. This is one of those hidden gems, tucked away in the recesses of the Strictly catalogue, so it may well have slipped by under the radar save for a few dedicated heads and vinyl junkies! It's got THAT NYC sound, hard drums, vocal samples, tripped out loops and stabs. Perfect DJ material if you're into the funked out stripped back House sounds of the mid to late 90's, this one will certainly be (in) your bag. 'Fantasy' has been given some tasty 2017 remastering treatment and repressed onto a high quality, weighty 12" for all you fiends out there, this one will keep them moving in the mix. Perfect NYC House sounds here, untouched and represented in it's original 1998 form, no sleeping permitted!
Monumental House anthem alert! Another classic jammer from 1992 lifted straight from the Strictly vaults. This one's HUGE. Phuture aka acid House pioneers Spanky and DJ Pierre (with a little help from Roy Davis JR) turn in a driving, acidic monster in true Wild Pitch style. Probably the only record that begins with a sinister voice saying 'This is cocaine speaking' before diving head-long into one of the best anti-drug House records ever. Absolutely brilliant. Bubbling 303 basslines and cavernous handclaps combine with a funked out, dubbed out synth line that just doesn't stop. Phuture will survive, and they weren't lying when they said that as this record (among too many others they had a hand in) still rock today. Yep, still fresh. Tried and tested, often imitated, never bettered. Phuture are the originals. Open up your eyes (and ears). This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 4 mixes as per the original release way back when. Essential stuff here. You simply NEED this one.
Massive vocal driven Garage House pressure here, from way way back in 1992! Yes, 'Follow Me' is one of THOSE records, one that transcended genre boundaries on it's release and continues to do so today. A true classic piece of NYC goodness from back in the day. The super production team of DJ Pierre and george Morel could only deliver the heat and that's exactly what they did - created a timeless House record with the bassline that just doesn't let up! This is the sort of track that got hammered on the US House scene, found a home in the UK Garage world and got spin at almost any and all clubs where the DJ's had half a clue and an iota of taste! Containing the original 3 mixes released in '92 now's your chance to bag a bonafide, hands down classic record! 'Follow Me' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2017.
Originally released on White House Records. Remastered from digital masters by Robert Macciochi with full restored cover done by myself. This EP should need no introduction to Ravers as often cited as an Anthem (whatever that means to you, to me that just means classic and good and still worth hearing any day again and again).
"Baptised By Dub" was originally on World Beat Records with "Virtual Reality" on the flip side and later licensed to White House Records with other tracks and the totally different but equally awesome Re Baptised By Dub by DJ Halo. This Ravers favourite has never been reissued on vinyl in its original 4 track form. it did make it to a White House Classics series but only Baptised By Dub and not the greatest quality.
According to DJ Spatts the DAT's were misplaced in the 90's and only unearthed again in 2014 when I searched the Warehouse. All CD licensed versions on compilations are allegedly a vinyl rip supplied by White House. These official DIGITAL remasters were issued to TCM Records as digital only. This is your first chance to get your hands on what will definitely be the best vinyl reproduction of this music since it's original release in 1992.
Stalwart of the scene, Craig Bratley, serves up big Italo flavours all over the “99.9% EP”, ably backed with a remix from Mr. Andrew Weatherall.
With previous releases on Neil Diablo’s To Rack & Ruin, Tsuba, Is It Balearic? and Robsoul Recordings, Bratley’s Futureboogie debut opens with the searing synths and chugging arped bass of “99.9%”. Wide-eyed melodies and punchy drums demand a mirror ball moment to this fabulous cut.
Family favourite, Andrew Weatherall, takes the chugging tempo to new depths, remolding “99.9%” into a tense, reverb soaked, dubbed out sci-fi encounter.
Further explorations into space disco are to be found on “Italo Love” with luscious waves of thick analogue sound and planetary FX, whilst on “Take Me To Bedford Or Lose Me Forever”, distinct Asian influences are at play, as Bratley channels his inner Vangelis for a mesmerizing and cinematic piece.
