American producer FBK returns to Rekids with his debut album entitled ‘More
    Stories From The Future’.

Long-term house and techno heavyweight, Kevin M. Kennedy aka FBK has a
career spanning three decades. Debuting with a seminal release on Frictional in
’97, Kennedy went on to appear on labels like diametric. and Urban Kickz, whilst
more recent releases have landed on Barba Records, Suspected (alongside Paul
Mac) and Rekids - kick-starting the label’s Special Projects series. With a close
bond to Detroit greats like Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Daniel Bell, Claude Young,
Keith Tucker and Sherard Ingram (DJ Stingray), FBK is considered a true
contemporary. Returning to Rekids for his inaugural long player, ‘More Stories
From The Future’ demonstrates his versatility within the studio and mirrors his
genre-bending approach to performing, both as a DJ and live act.

‘Modular Life’ brings deep resonating lows, liquid pads and clinical percussion,
before the psychedelic vocals of ‘I’ll Sit Back, You’ll Jack’ join smashing snares
and intensifying synths. Exhibiting erratic sound design, ‘Layers of Fear’ comes
complete with pumping drums and intense hi-hats, until ‘Hassling’ offers a
stepping groove, thick pad stabs and deep sub movement. ‘Headless’ gets
modular heavy with bubbling effects and shuffling rhythm, preceding the driving
kicks of ‘Gate Closing’ where ghostly vocals meet enveloping acid growls. ‘The
Boxing Lesson’ delivers punchy kicks and steppy snares under lofty atmospherics,
ending on ‘The Finisher’s Heart’ where evolving detuned synths flow over powerful
    percussion.

    1. A1. Trk01
    2. A2. Errrare
    3. B1. Arecibo
    4. B2 - Ocean of sound

Iceland’s Dynkur debuts on FALKdisks with four thunderous cuts entitled ‘Tschüssi’ EP.

Dynkur is the creative alias of Thordur Arnarson who’s been working with sound for over twenty years through DJing, engineering and instrument creation. Dynkur represents the rough side of Thordur’s sound with exploration and improvisation being an intricate part of his process. Arnarson experiments by morphing beats and textures together which can be heard not only in his recordings but also in his live shows with an appearance at Sonar in his hometown of Reykjavík coming up later in 2019. Dynkur’s ‘Tshüssi’ EP sees him join FALKdisks, the sub-label of FALK (Fuck Art Let’s Kill) following the likes Asmus Odsat and Jónbjörn, as well as AAIIEENN and Lord Pusswhip on the main label.

‘Trk01’ begins with resonating kicks, acid synth zaps and undulating, angelic pads before ‘Errrare’ maintains the gritty sound design delivering sharp modulations, pacey drums and eccentric, wavering tones. Raw elements layered with pitched down, distorted percussion and shrilling oscillations make way for ‘Arecibo’ until ‘Ocean of Sound’ finishes things off with haunting synth keys, esoteric vocal samples and machine-like pulsations thudding in and out of focus.

Dynkur ‘Tschüssi’ EP drops on FALKdisks on 12th April 2019.

    3. B2. Jam Tight

Following on from last year’s Bump It EP, Sammy W Tobus join musical
forces once again, this time with a fiery three-part offering for Hot Creations.
Acid Terrace opens the EP - a rumbling roller that cuts a fierce groove
complimented by intriguing vocal samples. Shake It plunges in full power with its
heavy-hitting bassline and rhythmic beat. Closing the package, Jam Tight is a funky
number that chops and blends vocals alongside pads, adding classic house
elements that create a solid, dancefloor burner.

The pairing of Sammy W & Tobus first came to our attention back in 2011. Their
fresh approach to DJ sets has garnered support from some of the scene’s top DJs.
They seamlessly blend and blur the lines between genres, creating their own sound
using elements of tech-house, funk and hip-hop. They’ve released music on 8bit,
Repopulate Mars, Roush, Mr. Nice Guy, Brock Wild, as well as running their own
labels Tobus X and Tobus Limited.

    1. A1. Rok The Hall
    2. A2. Rok The Hall (Johnny Aux remix)
    3. B1. Like That
    4. B2. Like That (Frank Butters remix)

Man Power’s Me Me Me welcomes another close friend back to the fold, with a stellar single from Bristol’s Christophe, backed with remixes from Paranoid London’s Johnny Aux and regular label contributor Frank Butters.

Me Me Me is having a fine run of form in recent months, with outstanding releases from the likes of Ian Blevins, Austin Ato, Shit Robot & Man Power himself. Press and radio support from the likes of Mixmag, XLR8R, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, BBC Radio 1 and BBC6 Music has been accompanied with rapturous DJ support from Andrew Weatherall to Ben UFO, DJ Harvey to Elton John! This latest chapter see Bristolian Christophe step up to the plate, a producer probably best known for his superb releases on Futureboogie, but who has also featured on Me Me Me, both as a remixer and contributor to last year’s charity compilation.

His first full release on the imprint kicks off with the acid-fuelled, electro workout that is ‘Rok The Hall’. Hypnotic squelch and skittering mid-tempo rhythms provide the perfect basis for a sleazed out vocal that is guaranteed to set dancefloors alight. The original is accompanied by a remix from Paranoid London’s Johnny Aux, a producer who has previously reworked the likes of Tiga vs Boysnoize, Shit Robot & The Martinez Brothers. Here he dials up the vintage pads and takes things in a deeper, mesmerizing house direction.

The second of the originals is ‘Like That’, an altogether more bumping affair with an 80s acid house energy derived from its driving analogue funk and judicious sample use. The remix on this comes from Cult of Glamour producer Frank Butters who steers things into Moroder-esque territory with arpegiated bass and syncopated keys. The digital package also features an instrumental version of ‘Rok The Hall’ for those who want things a little stripped back.

This latest release from Christophe and Me Me Me is a superb future-retro offering that is guaranteed to keep dancefloors warm in 2019.

    1. A1. All I Need To Get High
    2. A2. All I Need To Get High (Butch Remix)
    3. B1. All I Need To Get High (Ae:ther Dreaming Dub Remix)

Following on from last year’s album, Heart Of Sky, Damian Lazarus joins forces once again with his
spellbinding live project, The Ancient Moons, on Crosstown Rebels this April. He invites two of
Crosstown’s most recent signees, BUTCH and Ae:ther, to provide their own take on the track.

The original cut of All I Need To Get High opens up with an atmospheric, broken beat intro. Lazarus explains
that he “started with the pretext of the melody from the Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell classic and built a
psychedelic journey inspired by Pink Floyd and gospel choirs”. The breathy and soulful male vocals blend
effortlessly into the euphoric and hypnotising strings as the underpinning bassline drives the track onward.
“The song is deep, soulful and a little strange and I’m very proud of it,” Damian says. BUTCH creates a more
club aesthetic, adding a deep and rolling bass with squelchy synths and minimal vocals. A mesmerising
break bleeds back into the gritty bass. Next to provide their take is Ae:ther. He creates a more sinister and
foreboding feel with trance-like elements and an urgent beat.

Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons have unleashed a plethora of enchanting releases on Crosstown
over the past few years. 2015’s album, Message From The Other Side, received high praise from the media
with The Fader calling it “a journey into techno’s dreamiest recesses” and Vice naming it a “psychedelic
masterpiece”. Taken from last year’s Heart Of Sky album, All I Need To Get High, features the vocal talents
of London singer Jesse Appiah, who has worked alongside Michael Kiwanuka, Jamie Woon, Kwabs and
Jess Glynne. BUTCH has worked alongside big names such as Ricardo Villalobos and released on the likes
of Rekids and Cocoon. His hard work has seen him awarded the title of Best Producer from Groove
Magazine two years running. As well as providing this remix for Lazarus, Ae:ther’s debut album has also
been signed to Crosstown. 2019 will see the Berlin-based producer release once again on Afterlife as well as
unleashing his dazzling live-show on the world.

As the anticipation grows and the dark and steady “Trys” lets you revel in its consistent beats, “Red Is The Colour” takes in on the challenge to bewilder, remaining sharp and compelling before leaving the listener lingering on the ominous dreamscape of “Rau EP”.

Hot on the heels of the recent Normalizm EP and 4-tracker that topped vinyl charts for Kerri Chandlers Kaoz Theory, Art Department drops a 3 track vinyl-only offering for this year’s Record Store Day, simply titled ‘A Record For Records Sake’. The release kicks off with a warm, filtered and looped sample work out featuring disco guitar licks and a simple, infectious key melody executed in typically raw Art Department fashion. The song comes with a “Dolled Up Mix” which sees subtle changes in filter work and mixdown to extract a different emotion from the record. The EP closes with a straight forward house offering in “d’igualada “, a stripped back and deep affair with muted jazz undertones and relentless rhythm section. A perfect vinyl contribution to celebrate Record Store Day from the veteran Art Department.

The latest addition to the James Holden archive is an album of solo synth work originally written to accompany the critically-acclaimed documentary ‘A Cambodian Spring’: fourteen tracks of pulsing melancholy, foreboding drone and even the occasional burst of beatless trance in the form of the uplifting arpeggios of surefire album highlight ‘Solidarity Theme’.

Picking up where his classic 2013 album ‘The Inheritors’ left off (and giving ‘Self-Playing Schmaltz’ a new cinematic airing) Holden’s debut soundtrack project combines the sound palette of his beloved Prophet 600 with a cranky old Hammond organ to showcase the full breadth of his musical tastes across the epic documentary format.

The LP includes digital download code and sleevenotes by ‘Imaginary Cities’ author Darran Anderson.

    1. A1. Light (High As You Can)

    3. B2. Trouble Glider Lauer Remix

With a love for crystalline melodies, gentle pads, and elegant drum programming, Valencian producer Pépe has been handsomely traversing the realms of house, electro, and breakbeat for the last two years. Armed with a sound that is inherently sincere, moody, and emotive, he has fostered a strong reputation from fans and press alike, including being awarded 2018’s "Spanish Producer of the Year" in DJ Mag.

After noticed releases on Lobster Theremin, Deep Sea Frequency and Renascence and remixes for RAMP Recordings, Anti Skate, Easytiiger and Midnight Themes, Pépe lands on Loose Fit, a young and exciting imprint with affiliations to Manchester and Tokyo and a current homebase of Berlin.

Starting out with a party series in Manchester which brought the likes of Dark Sky, Brassica, Maxxi Soundsystem and more to the city, the Loose Fit label has set its sights on the meeting ground between italo, electro and dream house, with the label’s first two releases coming courtesy of Just Breathe and most recently, Jordan & Brassica, which reached the second spot on Beatport's indie dance releases in a matter of days.

On his Loose Fit debut, Pépe shoots for scintillating rave euphoria across two striking originals. “Light (High As You Can)” is pure featherweight breaks with gleaming synths and a simple but polished vocal sample that glides through the mix. “Trouble Glider” aims for similar emotional heights, all in dopamine surge arps and piano house euphorics. Ever the master remixer, Lauer jumps in to close the EP subtly reshaping “Trouble Glider” into the main stage ready banger that it was destined to become.

‘Chris Carter’s Chemistry Lessons Volume One.1: Coursework’ was created using a newly-formed piece called ‘Bongo Glow’ and reworkings of three tracks from the original album.
‘Bongo Glow’, a work in progress at the time, was finished using the same processes as ‘CCCLV1’ so that it could appear on the Japanese release of the album.

The additional three reworkings were created without direct instruction as an experiment to see how they changed with input from external sources.
Daniel Avery’s remix of ‘Usyring’ is a slow building majestic tome that comes full circle.

The Radiophonic Workshop took ‘Blissters’ and created a more experimental reworking in their unique style.

Chris Liebing gave ‘Tones Map’ a brooding anthemic feel, adding his Slow Burn remix technique.
