R&S welcome Dutch dance icon Maarten van der Vleuten back into the fold.

    - ‘Outrage’ is a compilation of Maarten van der Vleuten’s Integrity project tracks, originally released on R&S sub-label Outrage Recordings in 1992, now remastered by Matt Colton

Maarten van der Vleuten is one of the most influential figures in the Dutch scene, and also a man of many aliases - between 1987 to 2007 he racked up releases with over two dozen projects producing Detroit techno, electro, house, experimental and ambient tracks and remixes.

Still highly active and inspired in 2018, R&S see the Outrage release as a perfect opportunity to re-introduce Van der Vleuten’s masterful productions to a new generation, adding to his existing influential fans such as Optimo, Global Communication, Ellen Allien and Dave Clarke.

During the 90s he recorded mainly dance/techno for R&S Records, as Orpheus, 48V Phantom Power and Mantrax. He also memorably released on Apollo Records (check his excellent In-Existence ‘Moonwater’ album), Djax-Up-Beats, See Saw and Klang Elektronik amongst others.

Van Der Vleuten’s ongoing collaboration with R&S founder Renaat Vanderpapeliere saw the later set up Outrage Recordings in early 1992 to release Van der Vleuten’s tracks that didn't fit on R&S Records, recording as Integrity, Zimt, Flux and Pultec.

“Every couple of weeks i would drive up to Ghent with my new tracks and meet Renaat,” explains Martin. "We then went straight to Foon Mastering where we played the DATs and decided which tracks would be cut - i had carte blanche when it came to the 'sound' of the label.

Van der Vleuten’s music on Outrage Recordings moved in the opposite direction of the contemporary rave and gabber scenes; while Techno became faster and shifted to a more aggressive sound, Van der Vleuten focused more on composing and arranging over danceability. This resulted in these EP’s being difficult to sell back in 92 but listening now it feels vital and fresh well over two decades since they were recorded which is an obvious sign of
    Van Der Vleuten’s deft talent.

The release also includes Van der Vleuten’s collaborations with another dutch icon, Mike Kivits (aka DJ Aardvarck). The pair first met In 1989 when Kivits would sometimes play his demos on cassette-tapes at local clubs. The pair became fast friends and Van Der Vieuten invited Kivits into the studio where they found a natural chemistry that ultimately resulted in the tracks ‘Nightshift’ and ‘Intens’ which feature on ‘Outrage’, both written and recorded on the same day.

    4. B2. Higher

Fresh from his ‘Let’s Roll EP’ on Radio Slave’s Rekids, Hopeworks curator Lo Shea further cements his status as a true innovator of the UK underground with the ‘Iterations EP’ on Dusky’s 17 Steps.

Leading the charge, ‘Iterations’ is 8 dark twisted minutes of tripped-out melodic techno that will sweat the walls of warehouses from London to Tokyo - drawing a lineage from The Omen, Atomic Jam and The Orbit through to Berghain, De School and - indeed - Hopeworks itself.

On the remix, Stockholm’s Peder Mannerfelt takes it down an industrial rabbit hole of terror-core synths, rave sirens and sonic paranoia.

Across rest of EP, Lo Shea flexes his sonic diversity with ‘Ornithurae’ offering an intruiging mix of bruising bass, twitchy layer loaded percussion and sinister soundscapes - somewhere between d&b don Dillinja circa ’96, early Claude Von Stroke, Radioactive Man and fellow Sheffield legend Oris Jay.

Dark, soulful and ravey, ‘Higher’ closes things off with a uniquely UK hybrid that traces lines through militant Tresor-heyday techno, vintage Strictly Rhythm diva house and hardcore vibes.

    3. B1. Minds (Unreleased Version)
    4. B2. Hunters

Yoruba Records is proud to welcome back Toto Chiavetta with our latest release, ‘Nagnu Jubo’ (Remixes). This follow up to the debut album, ‘Impermanence’, includes remixes by Osunlade as well as new and unreleased work from Toto himself. Kicking off proceedings is the Yoruba Soul Mix of ‘Nagnu Jubo’, a deep and smooth groove rich in personality. The warm chords reel you in as the underlying rhythm engages and inspires. The Yoruba Soul Dub retains the warmth of the original without the track’s signature chant. This is followed by a new, previously unreleased, version of ‘Minds’. Originally appearing on ‘Impermanence’, this version is decidedly more floor focused. A 303-style bassline keeps this moving right along as percussive elements add texture and drive to this forward thinking dance tune. Finally, closing out this release is ‘Hunters’, a track which showcases Toto’s dark and techy side. This expressive tune is ripe with emotion and will have discerning listeners locked in introspection while their feet do work on the floors below them.

    4. B2. Appreciate It While It's Not Too Late

Having carved out a reputation for some of the finest cosmic house productions on labels like Omena, Dirt Crew and Quintessentials, the Lithuanian based producer delivers three new cuts on this release, which comes ably backed by a remix from Italian producer Fabrizio Mammarella.

On the title track, Alex Pletnev (Ponty Mython), goes for breezy synths and wandering melodies over a chugging mechanical beat and an FM style bassline, whilst Fabrizio Mammarella (Bear Funk/Les Disques De La Mort) toughens things up slightly on his remix, plunging into a darker sound aesthetic for a great reinterpretation of the original.

On “Time Spiral” an unhurried groove is laced with layer upon layer of meditative synths and percussive rolls for a fat dose of eighties soundtrack vibes, whilst EP closer, “Appreciate It While It's Not Too Late”, settles down to a head-nodding pace with funky bass and key melodies and live drum samples for a real earworm of a track.

Arkansas native, Lee Moore moved to Memphis in 1975 with only one goal in mind: to make it big in the music industry and to release music that would be played in New York, L.A and everywhere in between.

As a singer and songwriter Lee Moore spent the 1980s collaborating in Memphis with the best of the best session musicians and vocalists from labels like Volt and Stax Records to record and release futuristic boogie, soul, and funk. Lee Moore unfortunately never got close to reach his goals of fame and fortune.

For the first time, Past Due Records is reissuing Lee’s incredible “Free & Easy” LP which was only released as a handful of test pressings in 1981 because Lee thought the record was too good to release on his Score Records label. It is a pure Memphis modern soul / boogie funk masterpiece that features countless artists from the Stax crew, Al Green’s vocalists and even Herbie Hancock’s keyboard player.
The 1981 test pressing has commanded huge sums of money on the used vinyl market and is one for the real Soul connoisseur.

Lee's final project for the Score label is a bonafide underground Gospel burner. Originally released in 1989 it's a perfect look into his transition from the rougher edged Funk, Disco & Boogie of his earlier efforts and shows his smooth transition into a more celestial and blessed musical output. Again this one’s a real rarity and Past Due have secured this high quality, legit reissue for the heads.

DENSE + PIKA REMIX SEMINAL NERVOUS RECORDS HOUSE TUNE “RAIN” BY KERRI CHANDLER

Dense & Pika are a British electronic production/artist/DJ duo compromising of producer/DJs Alex Jones (Hypercolour label boss) and Chris Spero better known to many by his Glimpse alias.
The duo first came into fruition in mid 2011 with a number of white label releases. It wasn’t long until they were noticed by Scuba and have since had multiple releases under their belt on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Scuba’s acclaimed Hotflush imprint and have branched out onto the elusive Hypercolour. Dense & Pika have also been showing off their remixing talents by reworking the likes of Adam Beyer & Ida Engberg, Digitalism, Disclosure, KDA, Leftfield, Maya Jane Coles, X-Press 2 and also Paul Woolford’s ‘Erotic Discourse’, which won the DJ Mag category for ‘Best Remix’ in 2014.

Touring across the globe on a weekly basis has seen the duo play at the cream of the world's clubs such the now legendary Trouw (Amsterdam), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Fabric (London), Gashouder (Amsterdam) and international festivals all over the world. Gaining club support from electronic music's finest DJ dignitaries such as Skream, Scuba, Chris Liebing, Breach, George Fitzgerald, Adam Beyer, Dubfire, Jackmaster, Dusky and beyond.
They first linked with Nervous Records when they played Output Club in Brooklyn in May 2017 at an event that was promoted by Nervous Records founder and label chief Mike Weiss. That meeting lead to discussions about possible remix of one of seminal tunes in Nervous’ legendary house music catalogue. The result matches one of the most prominent names in House Music – Kerri Chandler – with one of the most exciting emerging production teams in techno – Dense + Pika.

Following the surprise release of his Slow Fade EP last month, Daniel Avery presents a collection of remixes from Surgeon, Actress and Inga Mauer. The remix EP will be released digitally and on 12” vinyl on March 9th.

Widely regarded as one of UK electronic music’s leading lights and “arguably the finest techno DJ in the world” (FACT), with a career spanning over 20 years, Surgeon lends his clinical touch to ‘Radius’, adding an erratic, propulsive beat to Avery’s warm synth layers for one of his best remixes yet.

Werkdiscs head Actress meanwhile delivers a pared back and introspective rework of ‘Slow Fade’, shrouding the synth refrain in hypnotic, distorted production, in his first remix following the release of his critically acclaimed 2017 album AZD.

Bunker Records’ Inga Mauer completes the package, offering a claustrophobic mix pierced with metallic shards that confirms what Resident Advisor said of the uncompromising Russian-born Amsterdam-based DJ and producer last year: “Mauer is destined for big things.”

    7. B4. A Body

This is the first album of Borusiade, in which she takes her music to a new level, finding her very own expression, that is making us first shiver then sweat, then chill and finally melt.

Cómeme starts 2018 by proving again to be a safe haven and a sanctuary for sensitive plants and unique characters devoted to music - just like Miruna Boruzescu aka Borusiade - from Bucharest - who conquered the radio stations of our parallel worlds and utopian desire. “Dream catcher” was the name of the show, and “Jeopardy”, a nocturnal EP, her first release on vinyl.

Now, after adventurous travels through night clubs, theatres, windy cities, snowy fields and merciless deserts her desires and imagination have manifested themselves in her very first album, carrying the intriguing title: “A Body”

The record sleeve features the back of her head, making us wonder what she sees, on the other side. Her visions unfold through 8 pieces of music that follow a dreamlike narrative of associations and transformations. Somber synthetic atmospheres, sparse and spatial rhythmical arrangements, strangely seductive melodies and lysergic ally pulsating bass lines lead us away from a dystopian present towards a sensorial experience we long to repeat as soon as it’s over.

“A Body” is a deeply poetic work in which again and again you will hear Borusiade’s voice, sometimes dissolving and recreating meanings in mantra-like repetitions, sometimes layering itself to pagan choirs of smooth ecstasy. Then again you will also hear that voice close to you, singing, sharing an experience or a thought. It is always soft, effortless and unpretentious, but always strong, clear and precise, like the voice that speaks to you in an altered state of consciousness. It seems to come from the same person that is holding your hand, when everything else seems to fade into uncertainty while wandering through strange times and places…

Starting with the song CLUSTER the effect is kicking in, we sink into the universe of the album through this throbbing ambience that seems populated by a reverberated ant colony that broke into a synthesizer. The introduction of this album is a complex emotional soundscape that is followed by a song: BREATHE, which sounds like a classic you never heard. With its catchy melancholia, it creates a déjà vu like strange familiarity of the unknown - a memory from the future. And though our minds were just twisting and turning in an overflow of information, we suddenly leave our bodies and observe ourselves breathe.

Other tracks, like DORMANT are more focused on the narration of the body and its state. Words, describing it in many ways, softly and incessantly repeated, are mixed deeply into the soundscapes of a track that features a bass drum so soft it could be a heartbeat. Foggy moments like these dissolve in a track like AN ACUARIAN FEELING, which is queer synthesizer love, shifting in shape and momentum, a ray of light that pushes itself through the nightly atmosphere that was preceding these moments, a similar landscape in different times - a choir enters, cheerful drums, climbing and descending melodies and rhythms of hope. Just like the utopian vision in the title track A BODY, that stands at the end of this journey, which in itself just opens another new horizon.

Since 2008 FALK (Fuck Art Lets Kill) has become a creative hub for Icelandic and international artists involved in experimental and electronic music, spanning noise rock through to power electronics, underground hip-hop to DIY techno and electro. 2017 saw FALK continue with releases from Icelandic hip-hop producer LORD PUSSWHIP, techno/electro producer ThizOne and Canadian industrial techno musician /ϟ/HUREN/ϟ/. Berlin based Icelandic producer Jónbjörn, known for curating Reykjavík record label Lagaffe Tales – one of the main pillars in the Icelandic house scene – now joins FALKS’ club focused sub-imprint with a robust four tracker.

Moving away from the deep house sound he’s renowned for towards a darker and leaner night time aesthetic, ‘Amsiak’ inaugurates the release with an infectious electro groove as gurgling pings and acidic clangs and drones are liberally dropped throughout the track. ‘Aspekte’ is a spacious track with blown-out bass sounds that morph and glide across a tempered, slow burning planar rhythm.

On the flip, Jónbjörn goes for a harder techno sound influenced by his relocation to Berlin. ‘Sunnudagskaffi’ is a bendy, 4/4 roller that contains hidden grooves below the basslines and the acid pings that wouldn’t be out of place on a Livity Sound release. Meanwhile, ‘Holy B’ is pure warehouse creeper techno, complete with machinic tones and the atmospherics of sweat and grime on dungeon brick walls.

    Or so I thought…
Turns out he was actually a guy who used to serve me in one of my favourite pubs in Newcastle.
Back in those days he was a dub step / drum and bass kid, and as per the trend with all of those guys, he’s now showing the house heads how its done, with a much keener feel for sound design, groove and a better ear for a sample than 90% of us lazy people who cut our teeth on a 4/4 beat.
Edmondson (or Sean as I did know him... and how I know him once again) is really one of the most exciting producers out there right now for me, and I couldn’t be happier that we’ve reconnected and he’s kindly allowed Me Me Me to present some of his amazing music.

"We Have Love” is an instant classic, and PSG is a work of pure emotive art.

To remix We Have Love, I’ve enlisted Dauwd (fresh from his amazing Album on Technicolour). Sean suggested him, and I jumped on the suggestion as he was one of the first people I met when I moved to Berlin 4 years ago, and I’ve been trying to figure out a way of working with him since.
He takes a We Have Love down a kind of more delicate and steppy route. It’s very pretty, but also really makes you want to dance.

To remix PSG I asked ASOK. Again, I thought I first met ASOK about 7 or 8 years ago, when he came and played for a party I used to throw in Newcastle. After becoming good friends over the years, we got chatting and it turned out that we were both in Magaluf in 1998, and may have actually been involved in the same street brawl. Thats not something either of us are proud of, but its definitely food for thought.
I’m biased, but I think his remix is my favourite thing he’s ever done, and I LOVE everything he’s touched musically to date, so thats probably an even bigger endorsement than it first seems.
    His version is BIG.”

    1. A1 The Trip
    2. B1 Sisters Of The Moon

Those wizards of digging Psychemagik doing the business once again. Hot on the heels of last year's monstrous 'Gotta hold on me / Wildman' they're letting folks know that they were still out there searching in the darkest recesses of the last 40+ years of popular and unpopular music, and boy oh boy are they good at it!

'The Trip' lives up to it's name. The track kicks off with some ultra beefed up psychedelic shenanigans, swirling, cacophonous sounds whirl and sweep and gradually drag us into the holographic tunnel, gradually giving way to some heavyweight drums and percussions and unfurling into a muscular psych-discoid beast. This one will send the kids crazy and will undoubtedly cause some damage in the club, both sonically and mentally. 'But what is the original?' we hear you say... answers on a postcard please.

'Sisters of the moon' on the flip-side is a very different animal - All laid back, laconic steel-guitars and thundering slo-mo drums and percussion. The dark side of a rural witchcraft dream exposed here, almost menacing... and then? Those vocals spring out of the mix amidst the throbbing sexually charged atmosphere and drag us back into the realm of 'near reality' with sultry moans and groans. This one's woozy alright, but in the best possible way. So wrong, it's right and possibly the natural soundtrack to too many of those strange shots that that guy in the weird hat gave us earlier when we entered that country pub. 'What guy?' I hear you ask....

Ultimate freak-disco and deepest druid Funk for the discerning and psychedelically inclined record consumer.

The inimitable CC:DISCO! has partnered with hyped underground label Soothsayer to curate the first in a collaborative series of compilations entitled First Light. Soothsayer presents First Light: Volume 1 compiled by CC:DISCO! is due for release in February 2018 digitally and on vinyl.

Australia’s reigning champion of tasteful electronic music, CC:DISCO! has procured exclusive tracks from emerging and undiscovered artists across genres such as boogie, balearic, funk, disco and house – with each sound piquing her interest, culminating in a finished product that would undeniably slot into a CC:DISCO! set. Her mission statement? "Less chin stroking, more dancing." It captures what CC:DISCO! is all about: the dancefloor.

The very first taste of First Light comes in the form of a salty and sweet track called ‘Really Want That’ by Jace XL. Premiered via Resident Advisor, CC:DISCO! explains: "I remember the first time I heard Jace sing in a bar, at first I thought a DJ was playing then I looked up see Jace singing his guts out. He blew me away! Jace's voice is amazing and to me, a huge part of what’s going on in Australian music, so it's with open arms we welcome him to First Light."

CC:DISCO! certainly knows how to work a d-floor. The fast-ascending Victorian DJ has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last 12 months to be the name on everyone’s lips. After cutting her teeth at Melbourne institutions like Daydreams and Boney, word began to spread of CC’s paranormal dancefloor abilities and suddenly CC:DISCO! was officially ‘a thing’. Within just a couple of years, she has crushed the closing set at Pitch Music and Arts Festival, and graced a multitude of festival stages such as Meredith (now scripted in local folklore), Croatia’s Dimensions, and Sugar Mountain's hallowed Boiler Room. She slayed Resident Advisor’s RA583 mix, and has nailed guest spots for radio giants NTS, Red Light Radio, triple j and Dublab as well as hosting her famed Friday evening show on PBS FM; Smoke and Mirrors. It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say she is now one of the biggest Australian DJs on the planet.

CC:DISCO! has become a staple presence at Soothsayer parties since the birth of the label two years ago, and an easy family dynamic developed. That family has come together for Volume 1 of First Light: a collection of brand new tracks from Australia and New Zealand’s thriving local scenes. Jace XL will be keeping good company on the compilation with the inclusion of tracks from Sui Zhen, Chord Memory Band, Nite Fleit, Rings Around Saturn, Manuel Darquart and Love Deluxe just to name a few, with the full track listing and release date being revealed in the new year. These songs – sourced by CC:DISCO! through chance meetings, fangirl moments and dogged emails – come together to create a body of music that is oddly satisfying and timeless. Summer is officially here friends, dive in!

T-Coy's 'Cariño' - An all-time UK acid house classic from 1987. Fusing the industrial clicking and whirring of the UK's post-industrial landscape with the lush, melodic, balearic inspired piano lines of the white isle and sucking us all in in the process. A true masterpiece courtesy of Mancunians Mike Pickering, Simon Topping and the late Ritchie Close who's combined projects included Quando Quango, M-People, Annette, A Certain Ratio and more. It's truly hard to believe this record is 30 years old. It can easily stand shoulder to shoulder with anything being released today. The B-side 'Regret' is also an amazing, minimal slice of punk-funky 808 driven niceness. Super stripped back and with an innocent charm and poppy vibe it is the perfect foil to the latino house chaos of 'Cariño' on the other side. One could argue that the A-side will take you up, and the B-side will bring you down (In the best possible way!). This classic has been legally reissued by Above Board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders - Sony Music Entertainment. This high quality repress features original 1987 Deconstruction Records label artwork and has been remastered from Sony's original sources by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK.

Optimo’s prolific DJ/producer/label boss JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor has curated a compilation of early ‘80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, following the [Cease & Desist] DIY! (Cult Classics from the Post-Punk Era 1978-82) compilation on his own Optimo Music label, and Youth Stand Up!, a collaborative recording project featuring young musicians from Glasgow, Ghana and Belize on his Autonomous Africa imprint.

Titled So Low and set for release on 19th February 2016 on double vinyl, CD and digital download via The Vinyl Factory, with hand screen-printed artwork by Katie Shannon, the 16-track collection had its genesis in McIvor’s irregular club night of the same name in his hometown of Glasgow. “So Low is an occasional night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow where I play some of the music I played when I first started DJing back in 1987,” McIvor explains. “At that time the audience I played to mostly loathed what I was playing and rarely danced but then shortly after, when House music arrived I found a different audience who actually liked to dance.”

“In response to my wife’s deep love of this music and requests from some friends who were too young to hear it in a club at the time, or indeed were not even born when most of this music was made, I was persuaded to revisit a lot of records I still loved but rarely played out, and So Low was born. It has an extremely enthusiastic audience, a joyous atmosphere and is the antithesis of what a club in Scotland playing this music nearly 30 years ago would have been like.”

The term ‘cold wave’ was first coined on the cover of a 1977 issue of UK music magazine Sounds featuring Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk, and later by the same magazine in an article about Siouxsie and the Banshees, with the publication proclaiming, "Listen to the cold wave roar from the '70s into the '80s". It grew to take in the icy post-punk production and futurist, apocalyptic love songs of Joy Division, The Cure, Bauhaus and more.

So Low focuses on the perhaps lesser known protagonists of the scene, such as UK/European minimalists P1/E, Colin Potter and Gerry & The Holograms, and American industrial/experimentalists including Michigan’s Hunting Lodge and avant-garde San Francisco collective Tuxedomoon, as well as a number of French and Belgian acts such as Siglo XX, Front 242, Marc Verhaeghen’s The Klinik and Clair Obscur. Tracks from industrial forbearers Throbbing Gristle and band members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanny Tutti, who went on to record as Chris & Cosey, and Germany’s pioneering minimal wave musician John Bender are also included.

With many of his contemporaries and newer artists alike coming forward as fans of the sound, McIvor and The Vinyl Factory have enlisted XL Recordings upstart Powell and Hamburg’s Helena Hauff to provide remixes for their favourite tracks on the compilation.

Stay tuned for news on London, Glasgow and Berlin launch parties, set to take place in early 2016.

Another West-End sure-shot! This sublime piece of early electronic Boogie has always worn it's "classic" badge with a relaxed sense of pride since it's release in 1982, perhaps it's the languid synthed out groove supplied by studio maestros Nick martinelli & David Todd or Brenda Taylor's sublime vocals reminding us all that the game of love is always a 2 way street that are to blame?

Whatever it is, this is a solid, classic slice of Disco gold, more on the down to mid-tempo tip but still big enough to keep the dance-floors packed from the Garage to the Loft & beyond with ease! The production simply sounds years ahead of it's time (still does!) & it has the FUNK in bucket-loads, this is as essential as it gets, the real deal. Featured here are all the original mixes that were on the 1982 pressing (Yes! There's a dub mix!).

Re-mastered, re-pressed & re-released for 2015 with all original West End Records label artwork intact. Done in conjunction & with the permission of all right holders.

Mint Condition - A reissue label focussed on excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics and overlooked gems mined from the last 20+ of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. From Chicago, Detroit and New York to London and beyond, Mint Condition have got their expert digging hats on to bring you exclusive heat and those rarer than rare jams that have been on your wants list for years! Dig in.... 7th Movement's 'Odyssey' is one of those mythical beasts, a record that transcended scenes and genres. 'Odyssey' obviously spoke to DJ's effortlessly as it's a track that continually shows up in the mixes and playlists of a whole host of different people, new and old, including - Derrick May, Masters At Work, Mike Huckaby, Doc Martin and more. It's a simple, yet devastating record, dubbed out Disco chopping Funk of the highest calibre! Built on a handful of carefully chosen (and well known!) samples and collaged in the most old-school way, it's a passionate hark back to the 70's and 80's mega-mix and edit techniques of yore with a healthy handful of swagger, dub and echo thrown in for good measure. 'Odyssey' still sounds amazing today, even after being out there for on the streets for over 20 years it still works, as appealing to the Disco crew as it is to the hardcore House heads. Originally released by the legendary Junior Boys Own crew on their highly coveted Jus Trax imprint this is some pure 1995 heat that will have heads rushing the booth asking for a track ID. Try it out. Also featured on this fine reissue is a 'lost' version, a previously unavailable mix / edit that flips the track into some pretty trippy territory, in fact, you may find that you might need x 2 copies of this monster so that you can blend them together in a truly old school manner, garage or block party style! Essential London business here from the heady, og days of 'Nu-Disco' & House. Snooze ye not! 'Odyssey' has been legitimately released with the full involvement of the rights holders for 2017 and remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original DAT sources especially for this release. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at Mint Condition!

Monumental House anthem alert! Another classic jammer from 1992 lifted straight from the Strictly vaults. This one's HUGE. Phuture aka acid House pioneers Spanky and DJ Pierre (with a little help from Roy Davis JR) turn in a driving, acidic monster in true Wild Pitch style. Probably the only record that begins with a sinister voice saying 'This is cocaine speaking' before diving head-long into one of the best anti-drug House records ever. Absolutely brilliant. Bubbling 303 basslines and cavernous handclaps combine with a funked out, dubbed out synth line that just doesn't stop. Phuture will survive, and they weren't lying when they said that as this record (among too many others they had a hand in) still rock today. Yep, still fresh. Tried and tested, often imitated, never bettered. Phuture are the originals. Open up your eyes (and ears). This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 4 mixes as per the original release way back when. Essential stuff here. You simply NEED this one.

Well. Where do we start with 'Deep Inside'? Originally released in the golden NYC House era of 1993, this 5 tracker literally smashed everything in sight. And still does now! The epitome of an evergreen, all-time classic release. Masters At Work Louie Vega and Kenny Dope were on a major roll in this era, producing, remixing, dj-ing and everything in-between, these guys put in ridiculous work. They are joined on this EP by a roll-call of names and collaborators, Erick Morillo engineering the title track? Check. Maurice Joshua on co-production duties? You got it. Vocals by Ms. Barbara tucker? They're there. Killer, rock hard drums? Stacks of Soul? Masterfully chopped up Disco samples? All present. Serious stuff. Sometimes a record just manages to capture and distill the true essence of what this is all about and 'Deep Inside' is one such record, it bears all the hallmarks of golden era MAW, all the signposts of what was happening in NYC's clubs in the early to mid 90's were there within it's grooves. You know a record is good when it's still being, quite literally, hammered nearly 25 years later! Now, remastered, and reissued with the full involvement of Strictly Rhythm this seminal piece of NYC House history is made available again with all original, full sleeve artwork intact as per the 1993 original. This one's a straight up essential for any self-respecting dance aficionado. You know what to do!
