Following up on last fall’s well received stamped testpress vinyl only release of “Everywhere You Look” by A Separate Reality (ASR), the Our Starry Universe label launches for reals (on date) with the ASR debut maxi-ep, “Heuristic Programs For Cognitive Centering.”

ASR is the collaborative vision of veteran NYC producers Nick Chacona (2020VISION/HECTOWORKS/MOODMUSIC) & Tim Wagner (Amy Douglas, Sunrise Hwy, 33Hz).

Wagner admits “The title of the EP might be slightly tongue in cheek, but it’s also on the money. This is a record about the meeting of technology and spirituality. A meeting where you don’t know what will happen - only the possibilities.”

The tracks on this latest release present a 35 minute journey into a world where psych-tinged Cosmic flirts with Balearic chug while downing Jazz laced with dub.

“It’s like the sound track to the surf movie constantly playing in my mind,” Adds Chacona.

For the last 20 years London-based author and party organiser Tim Lawrence has dedicated himself to excavating the history of New York City party culture and bringing some of the most powerful aspects of that culture to London’s dance scene, from where it has ricocheted around the world.

Having conducted the first and set of major interviews with David Mancuso of the New York City Loft, Lawrence started to host Loft-style Lucky Cloud Sound System parties with David and friends in London in June 2003. In February 2004 he published the first of three published three pioneering histories that have excavated and championed the previously overlooked foundations of contemporary party culture: Love Saves the Day: A History of American Dance Music (1970-79), Hold on to Your Dreams: Arthur Russell and the Downtown Music Scene (1973-92), and Life and Death on the New York Dance Floor (1980-83). Since 2018 Lawrence has hosted and DJed at the community audiophile party "All Our Friends. Paper Magazine describes him as the “reigning authority on the history of dance music in New York”.

With knowledge to share, and a readership as well as a dance floor to feed, Lawrence released Life and Death on the New York Dance Floor as the debut imprint on Reappearing Records. A year in the making, a compilation featuring rare and iconic tracks that appear in his much-loved and heavily-thumbed classic Love Saves the Day amounts to the follow-up. The collection features several tracks selected regularly by Mancuso, the party host who exerted a prophetic and unparalleled influence on New York City party culture, as charted by Lawrence. It also includes choice picks from groundbreaking DJs such as Michael Cappello, Steve D’Acquisto, Francis Grasso, Richie Kaczor, Larry Levan and Nicky Siano, whose expressive contributions are faithfully recorded in Love Saves the Day. The compilation traces how disco grew out of the record collections and intuitive sensibility of these and other DJs, offering a unique survey of the era’s expansive sonic palette.

    1. A Hit It N Quit It (Cratebug & Jamie 326 Edit)

Yet another solid gold modern reimagining of the mighty Loleatta Holloway, this time her infamous 1977 smash 'Hit & Run' goes under the knife and is tweaked to devastating effect by 2 of Chicago's finest modern day editors - Jamie 326 & Cratebug. Anyone with even a passing interest in Disco or House will be more than familiar with these 2 guys names. Having edited and remixed numerous cuts in their own original ways, they take this all-time Salsoul classic and strip it right back to the essence, to the very basics, and in the process create a total dancefloor weapon. This edit originally came out a few years ago (2013) on a compilation that showcased the new wave of contemporary talent emanating from the Windy City and naturally it was one of the cuts that stood out, finding favour with a wide variety of DJ's across the board from Motor City Drum Ensemble, Todd Terry, Jeremy Underground Paris, Theo Parrish and more. Drawing comparisons with Paperclip People's anthemic 'Throw' from 1994 in the way it snatches a killer loop from 'Hit & Run's' bassline, 'Hit It & Quit It' is a monster, a record you'll literally play over and over and over again, a relentless Disco juggernaut that oozes power. It made perfect sense for this legit single-sided reissue 12" to come out on Salsoul Records, the home of Loleatta Holloway's finest material and all of her classics. This limited reissue has been made in conjunction with Jamie 3:26 & Cratebug and Salsoul Records, 100% sanctioned and lovingly re-presented for your dancing pleasure. This one is HOT. Sleep at your peril!

The flip features “Celebration Ritual”, a deep Afro House vibe with a ray of jazz fusion. Drenched in marimba, hand drums, a tap dance solo from Stephanie Fica, and live bass from Peter Croce. In the late 90’s, east-side LA was in the throws of a post-indie explosion; a network of stoned bands ranging from neo-psychedelia to pseudo-country overran Spaceland (our generation’s Troubadour) and the local Silverlake Lounge. I was playing freakbeat records twice a week in dive bars, half of Spacemen 3 was crashing at my house (my drop-out roomate was Sonic Boom’s tour drummer) and it was during this blur that I met Raymond Richards, a clean-cut all-American pedal steel guitarist playing in Mojave 3 (the country-tinged side project of 4AD shoegaze royalty, Slowdive). I was instantly swept off my feet, head over heals in love with Raymond's weeping tone—the most chill-inducing, emotionally responsive dialog I’d had with music since discovering Satie as a child—it was then and it is now, truly haunting. After a year of personnel trials, my roomate and I stole Raymond for our own band, and not only did he smother our songs with his enchanting steel, he was virtuosic with a variety of atypical instruments such as baritone guitar and theremin, he utilized them all. The band was short-lived—I joined Ariel Pink, Raymond fled to Portland and me subsequently to New York City—but in founding the ESP Institute years later, there was always a recurring mental note; we must make Raymond’s pedal steel album. I had managed to wrangle his blessed performance on a remix for Project Club’s El Mar Y La Luna, but it took almost a decade until I once again wore the producer hat and we began working on The Lost Art Of Wandering, a title borrowed from Sam Shepard’s Stories. Spiritually candid, expansive yet enveloping, this is the strung-out, visceral country music that simply radiates from Raymond. Each song is his set of coordinates in a vast open terrain, holding a sentimental familiarity, a truthful longing for the simple comforts that diffuse life’s complications, a place to get lost. –Lovefingers

    3. B. The Key

May 2020 sees Gianluca Pegoiani drop his Visionquest debut in the form of the "Fifth Room EP". Pegoiani has been collecting records, analog machines and hitting the clubs since the mid 90's, taking inspiration from the greats like Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Derrick May. He has lived all over the world and has worked as a promoter at Mazoom / Le Plaisir, Vice and Blok in Brescia, Italy. In addition to collaborating with duo Polydrum for Skream's "Of Unsound Mind" label he has also produced releases for NGtrax and Rebirth Records.

The Fifth Room EP comes in hot with the fast paced A1, "One Room". Filling the space with rising and falling rhythmic sounds secured by a fat kick. Ethereal, almost choral pads emerge that give way to a skittery, chopped up vocal. In the second half of the track, the gate on the vocal opens up and the sound fills up with even more drenched pads.

For the A2, Berlin staple and fellow Italian DJ and producer Hubble checks in with his take on "One Room". The remix enters with methodical kicks and shifting bass tones, as seemingly 'found sound' percussion scrapes through the dense bass. The vocal peers in from a distance as the back half of the track undulates between bass tones, vocal and metallic percussion.

On the B2, "One Key", begins with reversed strings where u can almost hear the bow sliding back and forth. An indistinguishable vocal loop brings the listener back into the kick/snare and ricocheting percussion hits that bounce around the spectrum. New reversed strings jump in giving a nostalgia drenched Mediterranean vibe that somehow brings a tense energy. The tension continues to build until the end, leaving the listener excited and in anticipation for the the artists next offering.

Italian maestros Leon and NiCe7 join forces for the next release on Crosstown Rebels. Released in May Please Don’t Leave features a remix from label affiliate Serge Devant, providing his signature after hours groove.

Please Don’t Leave opens with a striped back vocal courtesy of Sam Threadgold, it develops with a hypnotic melody and layered percussive sounds. The vocal hook hints at a long-lost lover whilst the pulsing beat draws the listener in. New York’s Serge Devant is on remix duty and it’s a typically minimal affair with an acid-tinged bassline and a nod to the early hours. Also, NiCe7 provides a club friendly edit on the B2.

A mainstay in the house scene for over ten years, Leon has produced a number of recognised tracks on labels including; Saved Records, Defected, VIVa, ReBirth whilst event highlights include; Sunwaves, Pacha and Ministry Of Sound. NiCe7 are famed for their chart topping hits and high energy shows. The duo have performed at Space, Watergate and Ministry of Sound with releases on; Snatch!, Noir Music, Get Physical, Gruuv and Mother. Rising the ranks from an early age, Serge Devant’s breakthrough was in 2005 with ‘Fearing Love’ on Emerald City. A firm favourite on Damian’s imprint, Serge Devant last featured on the label in 2018 featuring an Archie Hamilton remix. A regular on the global scene, Devant has toured with Music On, Circoloco, Day Zero, Paradise and Black Coffee.

If Galaxy Lane’s first EP didn’t send the portals of time and space upside down, then the second EP will throw you down a vortex of hypnotic grooves juxtaposed with eerily erratic rhythms built in outer space.
The first of two EP’s to be trusted in the hands of Lone Romantic, ‘Night’ and ‘Later That Night’ will explore the concept of capturing moments in time.
Maybe Galaxy Lane can best summarise…

“I want people to really feel the mistakes in this music, the dirt, the rough and raw approach, the ‘sitting on the floor surrounded by wires at 3am messing with synths’ approach. That to me is the magic of this music, the interaction of man and machine, to hear the nuances, the tweaking of knobs and pushes of faders. I think we have lost that somewhat with digital technology, and have lost a lot of feeling in the process”

‘Night’ will propel the listener into ethereal textures layered over rough and raw beats, as outlined on opening track ‘Deep Space Nine’. If that sets you up for thinking this will be a dreamy ride, ‘Communication’ hits hard at the rear of the spaceship, coming at you with intergalactic bleeps, zaps and back cracking rhythms made for getting down.

Side 2 sets off on an exploration of wild eyed boundary flexing in the shape of ‘Enter The Light’. Pushing the machines to near breaking point whilst just hanging on, it’s a track that shows what can be done when the spaceship is left to drive itself, you can do nothing more than go with it and and see what happens.
‘Snow Day’ is perhaps the perfect way to round us back in. A more calmer, smoother ride, it’s unmistakable polyrhythms soothing the soul and setting us up for the next chapter…

Exciting new producer Yves Tomas releases on Rekids with ‘Pilot EP’ this May - a bold and versatile debut release exhibiting the artist’s broad range of influences.

Hailing from London but with roots in Bristol, Yves Tomas is a producer, vocalist and DJ brought up in the centre of UK club music. Since experimenting with music through his childhood and early teens he’s gone on to become an engineer, working in studios alongside some of the biggest names in grime and pop music. This has led to him developing his own unique style of electronic music as a reactionary expression to working in the meat grinder culture of mainstream music. He now joins Radio Slave
Rekids - a label known and respected for discovering many luminary figures in electronic music.

With its otherworldly melody and echoing effects, ‘Braindead’ is a downtempo track that remains beatless until the halfway mark, moving onto the beautifully arranged ‘MA1’ with its reverb-drenched breaks, quivering synths, and ever-evolving chopped and looped vocals. ‘River’ then incorporates elements of grime and jungle courtesy of its lively stabs, soulful chords and compelling rhythm built on punchy percussion. Taking things into a spiritual direction, Elephant & Snake’ meanders forward using
syncopated drums, washy chants and elevating organ keys before ‘Callout FM’ follows with its rattling snares, twisted arpeggios, and crystalline pads.

Nearing the end, ‘Pilot’ is a stripped-back affair with sporadic kicks, a fuzzy bassline, and vocoder vocals until digital bonus track ‘Birds Of The Barbican’ ties everything together by generating an uplifting atmosphere destined to elevate revellers for many years to come.

An esteemed selector Danny’s prolific remixing and production capabilities have touched hundreds of records – with his signature flare shaping the New York City sound.

Opening the A-Side of the release, is Danny edit this summer’s seminal track The Vision’s ‘Heaven’, interweaving a gloriously groovy bassline with Andreya Triana’s vocal to produce an extended, DJ friendly mix that he sent crowds wild with at Dekmental Festival.

On the flip, Mr K delves a little deeper into the Defected catalogue, trying his hand at The DangerFeel Newbies’ ‘What Am I Here For (Original NDATL Vocal)’. Danny’s stripped back version extends the jazzy, percussive original, as velvety smooth vocals and elegant keys bring this expressive and sophisticated release to a close. A true master of the edit, music as good as this deserves to be heard on wax.

When Solomun took his turn at remixing this Ibiza anthem, it was heard everywhere from Hackney warehouses to Pacha Ibiza, and showed a different side to the heavier original. On the B-Side is the Moodymann Edit, where he makes subtle changes to Solomun’s mix by interweaving tribal drums and stripping back some of the techier elements, followed by Chicken Lips’ electro banger ‘He Not In’ which thunders through. Phuture only released a handful of tracks (plus an album a full decade after their debut), but have remained a legendary act in the development of Chicago house for their stomping 1987 single "Acid Trax", the track that began and defined the acid house sound. The group was formed by DJ Pierre, synthesizer fan Spanky and Herb J in 1985 as a recording entity to produce records for Pierre to mix into his sets at several crucial Chicago clubs. After being turned on to the high-pitched squelch of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer (marketed as a bassline machine for solo guitarists), the trio emerged from the studio with a track they called "In Your Mind". Ron Hardy previewed the track at his legendary club the Music Box - where it became known as "Ron Hardy's Acid Track" - and Phuture re-made the cut with production by Marshall Jefferson. Released on Trax Records in 1987, the single created a dividing point between the Chicago sound before and after it, with hundreds of "Acid Trax" imitations flooding the local market. After it caught on in Britain as well, the single soundtracked the wave of club madness which coalesced in the rave movement by the end of the decade.

Re mastered for 2014 and re released in original 1987 artwork. Released in conjunction with Trax / Harmless.

'Let me show you' was one of numerous major label dance records from that golden mid 80's post-Disco era that caused a storm in the underground clubs of the day. 1. A1. Sunflower
    2. A2. Hidden Worlds
    3. B1. Switchblade
    4. B2. Leaving Tokyo

Starting 2020 on a high note, and following a surprise charity EP along with a collaborative EP with Turnstile, Jordon Alexander returns as Mall Grab for the “Sunflower” EP.

Sunflower serves as a representation of what’s to come for 2020, and how 2019 and every aspect of it influenced my world and the world around me. Recorded in Tokyo and New York, two of my favourite and most inspirational places (to me), Sunflower comprises 4 tracks which are a stand alone project, but an introduction to the debut Mall Grab album slated for a late 2020 release.

The title track, Sunflower, was composed in New York, looking out at the skyline on an incredibly sunny day and feeling a sense of positivity and energy wash over me. Daydreams of love, fun, ecstasy, love and the people who are special to you. Above all, the desire to share how I felt and feel coming into 2020. Something undefinable - I hope Sunflower can share that with you.

The second track, Hidden Worlds, is an amalgamation for a euphoric dark room - sweaty, throbbing and uncompromising. Recorded in New York several hours before a show at Knockdown Center as a draft, and finished in London a week or so later.

Switchblade is a return to the spoken word layering of early MG tunes, set to an electro-esque, broken beat club beat. High energy, not to be taken too seriously, but locked and loaded.

Leaving Tokyo, the closing track was recorded the day before leaving japan, late 2018.
It, for me, represents the melancholy of leaving somewhere special, full of fantastic memories and people but optimism for the next stop and next adventure.

In a world where everything seems a bit chaotic and bleak, I hope I can share the love a little with you... Positive energy forever.

For the last 20 years London-based author and party organiser Tim Lawrence has dedicated himself to excavating the history of New York City party culture and bringing some of the most powerful aspects of that culture to London’s dance scene, from where it has ricocheted around the world. Having conducted the first set of major interviews with David Mancuso, Lawrence started to put on Loft-style Lucky Cloud Sound System parties with David and friends in London in June 2003. In early 2004 he published Love Saves the Day: A History of American Dance Music Culture, 1970-79, which tracked the influence of the Loft on the wider New York DJ, dance and disco scene. In 2009 his biography of the iconic musician Arthur Russell became the first book to map the wider downtown music scene. These beautifully written and politically insightful histories have educated, inspired and celebrated the previously overlooked foundations of contemporary dance music.

Lawrence’s most recent publication, Life & Death On The New York Dancefloor, 1980 – 1983, published in late 2016, shines a light on 'one of the most dynamic and creative periods in the history of New York City'. Falling between the more regularly celebrated sounds of disco, house and techno, the period produced a uniquely hybrid series of sounds that never acquired a settled name. This led them to be largely ignored by historians and even DJs, yet the power of the period’s music and the scenes it birthed, Lawrence argues, remains undeniable. Met with a rapturous response, Life and Death On The New York Dance Floor saw Lawrence on the road for most of the next year as he spread the word about the characters, the records, the clubs and the bands that shaped the post-Disco, post-Punk, and burgeoning Hip Hop landscapes of New York City during the early 1980s—a period when freedom still ruled.

This, the first of a 2-part sonic tribute to the 1980 – 1983 era as well as a musical companion piece to Life & Death On The New York Dance Floor sees recognised musicians (David Byrne of Talking Heads) nestle up alongside the belatedly recognised (Arthur Russell’s Dinosaur L and Loose Joints, and Suicide's Alan Vega) and the downright obscure (Gray, 2 Teens Kill 4 and Tuxedomoon). An indication of what’s to follow, Dinosaur L’s original album version of “Go Bang” has been dramatically overshadowed by the definitive François Kevorkian remix yet received regular play by David Mancuso and remains an enthralling experimental Arthur Russell jam.

Lovingly curated across 2 slabs of vinyl, the album introduces listeners to a stunning array of sounds, styles, vibes and feelings that encapsulate this most fertile and forward-thinking era, when music, fashion, sound system innovations, leaps in music technology, a DIY attitude and a freedom from corporate politics combined with extraordinary expressivity. All music contained within this album has been hand-picked and programmed by Tim Lawrence. It represents a selective yet rich introduction to one of the most extraordinary periods in New York City’s epic musical history.

This is the first release on Reappearing Records, a label led by Tim Lawrence and distributed worldwide by Above Board distribution. Licensing courtesy of Tracksuit Music. Mastering by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK. Artwork & design courtesy of Atelier Superplus. 2018.

Capturing the range and the mayhem, Material’s under-appreciated ‘Bustin’ Out’ features Nona Hendryx delivering lyrics inspired by Black Panther George Jackson’s prison letters plus a music track featuring dance beats combined with a heavy electric guitar—a combination proposed by Michael Zilkha after the ZE label head rejected Bill Laswell’s first effort. The mix comes courtesy of Better Days resident DJ Tee Scott. Everyone, it seemed, was open to everything.

New Jersey's mythical Zanzibar club has long been a source of wonderment for dance music fans around the world. The Newark institution has been connected to some of the biggest producers and DJ's in the world of dance music; Blaze, Tony Humphries, Kerri Chandler, Tee Scott and many more! Step up Jovonn aka LY with this most classic piece of late night NJ House / Garage from 1994 - "Back To Zanzibar", a love letter to the club and dance-floor that no doubt had a massive influence on him and countless others during it's existence. 2 mixes of "Back To Zanzibar" feature and both are slow burning House of the highest order with LY calling us to join him to "hang out in Newark" and go back to the club over a backdrop of melodic deepness. It's a flawless track and deservedly wears the tag of "classic" comfortably. Essential. On side-B we are treated to 2 mixes of "Deep Inside My Mind" which has a slightly tougher, more frenetic, vibe to the side-A cut. "Deep Inside My Mind" is all skippy drums, slightly odd synth chords and LY on vocals asking us "Can you feel it?" Definitely one for the dancers in the dark corners of the club!

Now is your chance to own this killer piece of mid 90's House, a true aficionado's choice! This essential 12" has now been re-mastered, re-pressed and made available again with the permission of and in conjunction with King Street Records/Nite Grooves New York City.

    1. A - Nowhere
    2. B - Nowhere (Danny Krivit Edit)

Absolutely stellar proto-disco jam from 1975 on the minute Shield label, Nassau County's Hokis Pokis may not be the most well known of funk / soul outfits but that doesn't mean they groove any less than any of the big guns!

'Nowhere' is a true underground classic, one for the real disco aficionados. One of those grooves that straddles the thin lines between rock, soul and funk. This is a proper club record and in the right hands will keep a dancefloor locked in and moving.

Speaking of 'right hands' this special 12" reissue sees NYC DJ and edit royalty Danny Krivit tastefully extend the original 3.32 7" A-side version into an extended club jam. Never one to utilise tired filters, loops, sweeps and so called laptop 'production methods' Danny turns in a fine extension that is subtle, effective and most of all - funky. A truly glorious slice of uplifting dance music 'Nowhere' is an essential purchase for those of you who dig the real deep stuff.

This reissue is a legit, licensed and proper release. Made by Above Board distribution in conjunction with Henry Stone music and the skills of the legendary Danny Krivit. 2018.

Following releases on labels such as Greco-Roman, TTT and Templar Sound, Dro Carey (Eugene Ward) returns to the scene with his new offering, the industrious yet delicate track ‘Queensberry Rules’ featuring the vocals of KUČKA, taken from his Dark Zoo EP, out now via Australian label Soothsayer.

Where his previous releases have been firmly focused on the smoke-riddled clubs, Queensberry Rules sees Dro Carey traverse new territory. Working with KUČKA and Collarbones’ Marcus Whale on the track, ‘Queensberry Rules’ sees the Sydney producer creating a unique pop sound, however maintain the gritty DNA that he is so distinctively known for.

As Dro states “’Queensberry Rules' are the set of rules that outline the general code for boxing matches. It's a document about fairness and sportsmanship in a pretty violent activity. That immediately struck me as a great title for a demo. Working with KUČKA and Marcus Whale (of Collarbones) as a co-writer, I think their lyrics perfectly hit upon the sense of irony that I wanted the song to have.”

The track was the first official taste from his Dark Zoo EP which sees Ward push the limits even further within his musical explorations. Whether it’s the pop moments of ‘Queensberry Rules’ and ‘Dark Zoo’ where he employs the vocals of both KUČKA and FKL respectively to elevate the sonic sensory overload to new levels, to the brooding club explorations that are ‘Grow Lithe’ and ‘Hidden Halls’; the EP is his musical coup d'état from the outset – simultaneously sinister, restrained and intoxicating.

We are absolutely thrilled to present this little gem on Vinyl. This special vinyl release also includes not only the single, but two remixes from heavy weights Mall Grab and Cassius, and a very special new track titled ‘Under’ which is and will always only be available on the vinyl release of this. Dive in!

A true Balearic / Cosmic classic LP - Columbian brothers Elkin & Nelson's 1974 debut double album 'Angeles Y Demonios' is the perfect blend of traditional latin music, psychedelia, fuzz, glam, ethnic rhythms, progressive rock leanings and everything else in-between! The album had been received quite well on it's release, enabling the brothers to move to Spain and explore their ideas and melodies full-time, but it wasn't until the late 1980's Balearic explosion that the brothers unique musical vision struck a chord with those outside of Spain whose interests were rooted in the more esoteric corners of the record shop racks. Possibly the most well-known track from this LP was 'Jibaro (Enrolle)' that featured on the closing side of the set. This track was picked up and subsequently covered by Paul Oakenfold and the burgeoning wave of UK DJ's who had become enamoured with the white isle and her many sounds, thus birthing the term 'Balearic Beat'. 'Jibaro (Enrolle)' is perhaps one of the benchmarks of that particular microcosmic scene and sound but that doesn't mean the rest of this amazing LP should be ignored. A truly wondrous trip through the rock underground, not traditional by any means, if you dig the Balearic sound, psych-rock, funk and all of it's orbiting planets then this will certainly flip all the right switches for you. A very original set. This classic has been legally reissued by Above Board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders - Sony Music Entertainment. This high quality 2 x LP repress features original 1974 gatefold sleeve and label artwork and has been remastered from Sony's original sources by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK.

    WORLD UNKNOWN MUSIC

Andy Blake’s World Unknown label is back after a few years with a new improved big rig warehouse sound to reflect the recent changes and upgrades to the parties. As always with Andy’s releases it’s been mastered via tape by Lawrie at Curvepusher for extra warmth, depth and pump.

MO REECE – C MO FUTUR

One of the new generation of kids from the WU dancefloor who has been promising something as great as this modernist acid bouncer for some time. A multi-generational peak-time banger for all floors with one foot in the psychedelic sandbox. We’re expecting big things from this one, keep an eye on Mo Reece and his special take on big and bouncy club tunes.

    Side y

    FLIGHT MODE – ANCIENT LIGHT

Flight Mode is one of the older WU heads and a very prolific producer of some some note for over two decades who fancies trying an alias for a change. It’ll likely turn out to be one of those badly kept secrets but we’re not letting on for now. Ancient Light has been played on dubplate by Andy for a year or so now and always causes a big reaction, being equally well-tooled for the big room and the afterparty.

    1. X Theo Nasa - LSTNBRGHN
    2. Y Traynor - Sunward

Another brace of bangers from World Unknown Music, we're all really pleased with how this one turned out. Big and fat and disco-ready, mastered by Andy Blake and Lawrie Curvepusher via tape.

side X THEO NASA - LSTNBRGHN

World Unknown and Theo Nasa first crossed paths in Andres Branco's vintage designer clothes emporium, Wavey Garms. The conversation started with rare Moschino coats and then led to Mr Nasa's music and the fact that Richie Hawtin had just jumped on one of his digital releases. We're really chuffed to be releasing Theo's vinyl debut. It's a pounding big room monster inspired by his first experiences of a certain Berlin nightclub. Theo Nasa will be a big deal sometime soon, there's no doubt about that. Make sure you get on this now so you can tell all your mates how you have been into him for ages.

    side Y TRAYNOR - SUNWARD

"Can I send you some tracks to listen to? I'd love to get some feedback from you". Not an especially odd request for a DJ these days. But it's a very nice surprise when literally every track in an 8 track demo package from someone who has never put any music out before is brilliant. Messrs Bowley and Blake had real trouble deciding which one to choose for Traynor's debut release and eventually went to Sunward. It's trippy and shimmering with a ton of pump. Trancey but not trance, or maybe it is. The kind of thing that lights up your night in a club and gets played again and again at home or in the car
