David & Stephen Dewaele (aka Soulwax/2manydjs) have always been fascinated by collecting instruments and recording gear. Their passion hasn’t been born by completism: simply every new item inspires a world of possibilities. The one item that always eluded them was the EMS Synthi 100—a huge and rare analogue synthesizer, of which there were only 31 ever produced, that can create a near infinite array of sounds.
The album sounds simultaneously futuristic and retro as it highlights the versatility, uniqueness and warmth of the Synthi 100. Remarkably, a synthesizer that was first launched in 1971 continues to excel in 2020, aided only by patient restoration and fresh creative input. Each side of the vinyl features a long piece of music, each of which is divided into three movements. While they can be heard separately, David & Stephen urge people to listen to the entire experience from start to finish.
‘DEEWEE Sessions Vol.01’ is a highly collectible package featuring the album on heavyweight 180g vinyl along with a fully-illustrated 48-page book which explores the background behind the album and history of the Synthi 100. The book compiles a foreword from David & Stephen Dewaele; an introduction from 3030, the specific Synthi 100 unit that was used for the album; a history of its creation and an exploration of its sounds; and finally an interview with Ivan Schepers, the IPEM technician who has been 3030’s long-term custodian.
Fittingly, this tribute to such an elegant machine is presented in a beautiful style, art directed by Ill-Studio. The vinyl is held in a perforated ‘patch bay’ cover with a fully artworked inner sleeve, while both the disc and book are housed in a clear PVC bag.
‘EMS Synthi 100 - DEEWEE Sessions Vol.01’ will be released on May 29th with catalogue numbers DEEWEE034 / VF301. A digital version will also be available via download and streaming services and now available to pre-order from HERE.
This album was made with the kind assistance of and in collaboration with IPEM, Ghent.
Written, Recorded, Produced and Mixed at DEEWEE by David & Stephen Dewaele.

- A. Aldo Tamborrelli – Voices (VSHOG Special Version)
- AA. Stefano Torossi – Having Fun (VSHOG Special Version)
Velvet Season & the Hearts of Gold is the musical adventures of Gerry Rooney & Joel Martin. They have a rich musical history with Gerry Black Cock Records & Joel Quiet Village.
Aldo Tamborrelli – ‘Voices’ (VSHOG Special Version)
VSHOG present their official special version of this highly desirable hidden treasure of hypnotic electronic sleaze excavated from the cult soundtrack to a 1983 Italian ‘Apocalypse Now’ cash-in, and transform it into an 8 minute erogenous bump n’ grind trip to the twilight zone torture garden, cruising leather boys & fetish girls looking for Love in all the wrong places !
‘Voices’ is a narcotic synthesised masterpiece of body music to completely immerse your dark desires on the dancefloor. A dark risqué world of crisp chugging drum machines, mesmerising warm bass pulses, and the erotic wails of seductive screams in the night !
Stefano Torossi – ‘Having Fun’ (VSHOG Special Version)
The VSHOG version of 'Having Fun', from Stefano Torossi's 1974 album 'Feelings' (a holy grail of Italian library music) is an uplifting lush orchestral string laden funky breakbeat feel-good track to raise your vibrations!
Opening with a chunky stripped down drum & bass intro, the strings entice you further in & then the Disco Funk Psyche guitar riff really lifts the track to the sweet spot & you are completely hooked! A beautiful piece of music for all occasions - Balearic Sunsets/Sunrise, Disco dancing, B-Boys and Hip-Hop heads, Jazz Dancers & library music connoisseurs!
Another fantastic offering from the VSHOG Special Version series of releases.
- A Keep Me Satisfied
- B Our Day Is here
A beautiful slice of deep soul right here from the environs of Miami's Blue Candle label.
Cut in 1974, 'Keep Me Satisfied / Our Day Is Here' by J.P. Robinson is a truly rare piece, often appearing in Discogs' 'Most expensive items sold' lists year after year. This one is for fans of that real deal, 'Keep Me Satisfied' is a solid dancer, a tight arrangement and backing drenched in strings with Robinson's exuberant and confident performance warning his girl that she needs to attend to his needs - before it's too late! On the flip is the more midtempo 'Our Day Is Here', again featuring a lovelorn Robinson baring his heart and soul over the brilliant arrangements and top class musicianship from the legendary partnership of Miami stalwarts Clarence Reid and Willie Clarke, the musical muscle behind this wondrous and exceedingly rare 45. An essential addition to any soul fans collection, and definitely a record you don't see everyday! 100% legit repress, and remaster from the Henry Stone Music Group and Above Board distribution.
- A. Goldenlips
- B. Goldenlips (DJ Sotofett's Golden Funk Mix)
A key fixture in the record bags of DJs throughout the past few decades, best known for their unforgettably odd house anthem ‘He Not In’, it’s been some years since Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith last collaborated as Chicken Lips. As such, it’s with no little delight that Phantasy welcomes them back into the fold with one of their most mind- bending tracks yet, accompanied by a remix from a fellow stalwart of the underground, DJ Sotofett.
Instant and assured, ‘Goldenlips’ unrolls like licorice over ten blissful minutes, mining an undercurrent of post-acid house euphoria into a dreamy analogue jam-turned-trip, a soft and rhythmic vision of dancefloor euphoria that demonstrates a mastermind session of tension and release from two individuals with decades of experience in tipping dancefloors upside-down.
On the flip, DJ Sotofett continues to deliver the unexpected with a more truncated but no less compelling ‘Golden Funk’ mix. Suddenly rolling back the musical clock to the sun-drenched West Coast of the mid-nineties, the result is an oozing, bottom-heavy rework so delicious, it might even have united Puffy and Snoop.
- A. Faded By The Sun (12” Mix)
- B. Celebration Ritual (12”)
Following the highly supported Genes / Space Conductor 7”, Blair French sneaks in one more release before the forthcoming album, The Art Of Us (TAOU). This single holds two extended versions of peak hour songs. The A-side features “Faded By The Sun”, a cosmic afro beatdown driven by drums, with hints of boogie and frosted with guitar swells and stabs from Michael Jurczak, dripping with 3 AM Ron Hardy energy. The flip features “Celebration Ritual”, a deep Afro House vibe with a ray of jazz fusion. Drenched in marimba, hand drums, a tap dance solo from Stephanie Fica, and live bass from Peter Croce. Both tracks have been lighting up dance floors in dubplate form for the past year and are finally available as a limited 12” release. No fireworks, just a dust sleeve, cut loud to lacquer at 45 RPM, and pressed with pride at Archer on Detroit’s east side.

- B1. Running To You
- B2. Fantasy Love
An ode to dancefloor escapism. Alinka once again navigates her way around making house music weird, catchy and jumpy for the first release on her new label Fantasy Life.
A Ukraine born, American raised and Berlin based artist and DJ, Alinka has tipped around the most interesting cores of sound creation over her career. Absorbing the many influences of her musical passions, she has created her own version of emotional catharsis, revealed and reborn on the dancefloor. From censorship to flourish, Chicago born house and sparks of Detroit techno; the omnipresent struggle of finding ways to consume and create dance music has made her thrive in creating tracks from a broad palette of sources.
Do What U Want is a five-track long love-letter to dance music and unity to open her new label. Working with classic sounds, Alinka keeps it fresh and interesting, with addictive vocal and squelchy acid stabs. Reshaping house music patterns, collaging 4x4 beats with more complex layers of sound that don’t just fall in a box that’s labelled ''100% classic house''. The intention was to make strong, powerful and timeless music designed to evoke pure joy.
Fantasy Life is inspired by Andy Warhol's piece ''Fantasy love is better than reality love''. The concept was driven by the honesty and emotions that it accompanies. It couldn't have been a better time for the thought process to materialize into this project. Alinka explains - ''A dancefloor can essentially be an escape from reality. Music can take us to another place and serve as a safe space and an escape from our everyday lives and problems. On a perfect day, you see people of all walks of life dancing in unity and it feels like a fantasy. ''

LPHWHTE is the third—and, likely, final—installment in our series of to-the-point LPH WHITE compilations. Four tracks bound together by their high-energy ebullience and zealous joy.
Jacques Renault's contribution is a full-hearted disco throwback with a smoky mystique; Kristy Harper comes correct with a pummeling acid belter; Laroze gives us a disco-house banger that zips by at a fast-forward, breakneck pace; and Keita Sano delivers a zoinked-out and looped-up rhythm boogie as the closer.

As one of the original British interpreters of Detroit's machine music Steve Pickton is an undisputed UK techno legend - his unique take on the original Detroit sound and his productions on his own labels as well as B12, Peacefrog and Kirk Degiorgio’s ART and op-Art imprints are acknowledged as sublime examples from this seminal period of UK Electronica. He’s probably best known for his work as Stasis but he's also released records as Phenomyna and Paul W. Teebrooke. His work is characterised by a singular vision that delivers a poignant and emotional blend of soul and synths seasoned with jazz, funk and sci-fi flavours.
This second release on his co-owned Fencepiece label features three majestic examples of his work and comes as a vinyl only, individually numbered, strictly limited edition. The celestial Tau is released for the first time on vinyl, after its original appearance as a CD only track on the 1995 Stasis album Inspiration. Travellor and From Afar again also appear for the first time on wax - they were previously only available on Phenomyna's 1994 CD Unexplained on ART.

- B. Mad Stacks (Demuir ‘Playboy' Remix)
Forever pushing musical boundaries whilst producing a distinctive and evolving sound, SHADED brings his Southern California roots to Hot Creations this May with Mad Stacks. No stranger to the label following his High. Alive. And Dirty. EP, Demuir is onboard to deliver a solid remix.
Mentored and inspired by Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia, SHADED first appeared as part of the duo SHDWPLAY, who released a string of successful releases on SCI+TEC. He ventured down the solo path with releases on Tiga’s Turbo imprint, including the label’s best-selling release and Mixmag’s ‘Tune of the Month’. He’s also a key associate with Oliver Huntemann’s Senso: appearing on the 5th birthday release. - A. Testify
- B. Testify (Accapella)
In times of trouble and uncertainty music can provide relief for the soul, and DAVIE’s triumphant Defected debut ‘Testify’ does exactly that. A joyous introduction to the Brooklyn artist, this special 7” release demonstrates an ability to strike the balance between classic and contemporary sounds seamlessly. Steeped in music from a young age, DAVIE followed the path many soul greats did before him, joining the choir in a local church where his father was a pastor. Describing ‘Testify’ as “a dance song, not a gospel song”, the record remains inspired by his upbringing up in the church, radiating all the energy and atmosphere of worship in full flow. On the A-Side rich instrumentation provides the backdrop for DAVIE’s flawless vocals, along with a serious dose of funk, making this label debut nothing short of a future classic. The B-Side features the Accapella, an essential DJ tool.

- B Love To The World - KON's Lovestrumental
Christian 'Kon' Taylor's KonTemporary imprint goes from strength to strength! This, the third release sees the Boston crate diggin' selector, producer and remixer extraordinaire reworking the mighty sounds of L.T.D.'s roof-raising 'Love To The World'.
L.T.D., an acronym of Love, Togetherness and Devotion were a highly respected and dope 70's Soul and Jazz Funk outfit fronted by the powerful Gospel-tinged vocals of one Jeffrey Osborne, whose powerful tenor voice gave their music some serious weight! Heavily revered among music lovers and often sampled throughout hip-hop and dance music (check out 'Cuttin it up', Llove ballad', 'Holdin on' & 'Back in love' for proof!) One of the group's biggest and most well-known cuts was 'Love to the world', a track that got love from the hardcore dancers, B-boys and old-school heads alike. As usual, Kon has taken this classic into a new realm with his own unique arrangement and use of ad-libs and unheard instrumentation, all taken from the master tapes and lovingly reworked. It's a difficult task to breathe new life into the classics, but Kon always comes up trumps with his fresh ideas and expert ear. Now you can catch these super heavyweight 12" versions, including an epic 9 minute plus instrumental mix, all expertly tweaked by Kon and mixed by Scott 'Supe' Stallone at Found Sound, Philadelphia.

Milton Wright's perfect deep Soul classic "Keep It Up" has always been a top shelf record, everything about it is almost flawless! Whether it's Milton's silky vocal delivery, the incessant guitar driven back beat or the total space Funk vibe of his omnipresent ARP-2600 synthesizer this record has it all. Originally released on TK Disco's more Soul and Funk orientated Alston label which was home to many legendary artists and records, this 1975 sunshine classic never fails to make people move. A classic rare groove indeed. "The Silence That You Keep" takes up side-B, a jazzy, flute driven love song that again features Milton's perfect voice and some fantastic arrangement. A real gem of a record, with the original 45 changing hands for over £100 a time in used condition.
This is the first time "Keep It Up" has been re-issued in it's original 45 rpm format with the original Alston label artwork. It's been re-mastered, re-pressed and made available again with the permission of TK Disco / Alston Records, Miami Florida, USA.

12 track vinyl compilation featuring the roots of modern dance music, on 180g heavyweight double LP. P&P was producer and Harlem hustler Peter Brown’s production company. He created some of the greatest moments in underground African American dance music, across a handful of labels in the 70s and 80s.
Due to his independent ethos his releases on imprints such as Heavenly Star, Sound Of New York, La Shawn, P&P and others would often disappear after a single low numbered pressing making them incredible hard to find on original pressing.
Tracks such as Mary Clarke’s ‘Take Me I’m Yours’, and the Fosters Jackson Group’s ‘Feel The Spirit’ have been championed by DJs such as Floating Points and Dimitri from Paris. Whilst the sheer rarity of some singles such as Clyde Alexander and Sanction’s ‘Got To Get Your Love’ and Louise Murray’s ‘Let’s Just Stay Away’ would set you back multiple hundreds of pounds to buy on original copies.
Clyde Alexander & Sanction - Got To Get Your Love
Foster Jackson Group - Feel The Spirit
Rudy Stewart - Get Down
Mary Clarke - Take Me I’m Yours
Louise Murray - (Let’s Just) Stay Away

Following the groups major hit "Is It All Over My Face," Arthur Russell continued to release dance singles such as this disco classic "Tell You (Today)," an upbeat dance groove and Loose Joints holdover featuring the vocals of Joyce Bowden.
The song has been remastered from original analog tape for 2014 and repressed in conjunction with the rights holders, Verse Music Group.
- A1. Mi Casa Samba (Octo Octa Remix)
- A2. Faith (Vito & Druzzi Remix)
- B1. Words (Cooper Saver & Turbotito Remix)
- B2. Faith (Lemonade Remix)
The second of two Zentrum spinoffs is with us! As with the first, it comes loaded with four remixes. Octo Octa, Vito & Druzzi, Cooper Saver and Turbotito, and Lemonade all handed in top-notch reimaginings of tracks off Jacques Renault's debut LP, which came out just under a year ago, and they all somehow manage to be unique unto themselves while also sublimely bleeding into one another.
Octo Octa's rendering of “Mi Casa Samba” serves as a propulsive beginning that's as dark and druggy as it is sharp and focused. Vito & Druzzi's take on “Faith” runs in a similar vein, but in a more stripped-back, drawn-out, and patient sort of way; it is nearly ten minutes long, so this is perhaps not a surprise.
The B's remixes are brighter, sunnier, though that's not to say they're not bold. Cooper Saver and Turbotito's redo of “Words” has a certain funky swing to it that, paired with spacey synths and Balearic bells and whistles, makes it ideal daytime disco fodder. The Lemonade boys close the EP with their vibey take on “Faith.” Pads for days, a plump bass, and a focus on the original's sax make you wonder if the song itself somehow got stoned from a couple extra giant bong rips. A fitting way to end both the 12” and the summer.
- A1. I'm Ready To Give Up My Love (
Here's one for all the hardcore Disco and Soul lovers out there, one of the finest and rarest manifestations of the legendary writing, arranging and production team of Randy Muller and Jeff Lane (Skyy, BT Express, Brass Construction, Aquarian Dream, Spiders Webb and many more!). First appearing as a 'Columbia Records Disco Series' promo 12" in 1976 this is a wondrous example of that mid to late 70's uptempo Soul sound morphing into Disco, and boy are we glad it did! Drenched in pure Philly vibes 'I'm Ready To Give Up My Life' is a real beauty, clocking in at over 9 mins of pure dance-floor joy with soaring strings and a driving rhythm. Pure class all the way and one for the aficionados for sure. Beautiful Soul music that will certainly deliver the goods in the club indeed. As per the original 1976 promo release this 12" features the same program on both sides.
This underground Disco classic has been legally reissued by Above Board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders - Sony Music Entertainment. This high quality repress features original Columbia white label Disco 12" artwork and has been remastered from Sony's original sources by Optimum Mastering, Bristol UK.
