    1. A1 Forgot
    2. B1 Feel The Love

From the redwood forests of Big Sur and the industrial warehouses of downtown Los Angeles comes PFEIFFER, a label dedicated to quality and a diverse musical output. Pfeiffer follows in the footsteps of labels such as Svek and Kompakt, known for releasing a wide range of techno and house with a common thread of unique and unpredictable energy. Looking to bring this type of eclectic curation into the modern era, Pfeiffer draws inspiration from the raw simplicity and effortless magnetism of its namesake location on the central coast of California.

The sophomore release from Pfeiffer is here, and with it new sounds and styles from the label's anonymous lead producer. ‘Forgot’ kicks things off with an off kilter, swinging groove and clever zany synth work to match. Shifting basslines bounce under classic Robert Owens vocals, evolving into a huge riff over the course of the tune. On the flip, ‘Feel The Love’ follows suit with a sub-heavy, stomping groove, staying in the deeper end of the spectrum. A playful synth riff grows throughout the track, weaving throughout the combination of chopped vocals, analog sounds and hand played percussion.

Back to the future and northern velkommens to bro Morken. EPs for Prins “Blud” Thomas’ Full Pupp show early production chops, but it’s his residency as part of Oslo’s Jaeger crew where the range of styles is truly showcased.

Appearances on Trushmix series and his recent Road Trippin’ cassette for L.I.E.S last year show depth(charge) DJ on a roll, but it’s setting up the Moonlighting label where vibes came alive via some electro bass tribal sub bass wonder. Jungle dialects!

After the soft landing of Banoffee Pies Records latest sub label venture OTAKU, the imprint continues following the theme of subtle compositions with the second edition, this time from Swedish born Vilhelm with “Mermaid Porn”.

A five tracker starting with an aquatic feeling on the title track “Mermaid Porn” with bubbling effects rolling into the A2. entitled “Kirchner” with more with positive and patient melodies. Standing to attention in the spaceships cafeteria, the A side comes to a close with “Always In Costume”.

The B side opens with “Saturday Bossa” - drums inspired by the Brazilian music wave of Bossa Jazz with a slight twist. The B2. track, “Skopje” blends off beat percussions with a cutting snare and a more electronic 4/4 direction. The general expression being, Music For Home. With love from Banoffee Pies. x

    3. B2. Tripped

It’s taken almost 3 years to get the man like Medlar back on Delusions fol- lowing his 2015 release with Dan Shake but finally it’s come together. That release, along with his regular output for Wolf, Riverette and For Discos Only has helped cement Medlar’s reputation as one of the leading UK un- derground house producers and led to official remixes and approved edits for legendary labels TK Disco and West End no less! The Medlar seal of quality has led to support from such influential heavyweight selectors as DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson and DJ Koze.

Kicking things off we see Medlar in straight up dance floor mode on title track NRG, coming through with a drum-heavy workout that utilises a gnarly bassline, echoing synth stabs and rasping hats to excellent effect.
Flip over for his own Dub Version which strips things back further placing all the emphasis on the bassline and going heavy on the Space Echo for a tripped out, dubby warehouse vibe tailor made for the freaky hours.
Closing the EP we have the aptly named Tripped which drops the BPM’s for a low-slung mood-setter to warm up the floors with. A simple groove lays the foundation for a rolling bassline while chiming synths weave in and out of the spacious mix.

This one, like Kubo before, is a fiery maelstrom of house and disco dance floor destruction that has a dusting of that impossible-to-place Keita Sano absurdity. A magnetic sprint through MPC-fueled workouts, trance-y space-outs, and loopy hypnotizers.

Together, Kubo and Totsu make up Ōtotsu , an eight-track long-player that will be made available as a digital release as well as a special limited-edition vinyl double-pack.

Fresh for 2018 the ever pioneering Octave One are bringing us some brand new music for the new year. Using their much loved Random Noise Generation alias the upcoming release entitled 'N2 The Enfinate , contains a new single as well as a remake of 'Rock my Soul' in the form of the 'Reborn Vocal Remix'.
The first Random Noise Generation release was 'Falling in Dub' in 1991 and sounding just as fresh 27 years later,‘N2 The Enfinate’ is due for release this March.

For this single a retro energy has been explored in the title track 'The EnFinate', running parallel to a more contemporary groove and rolling, marauding baseline. The second track on the package, 'Rock my Soul' (Reborn Vocal Remix) starts with a strong intent and a weighty bassline paving the way for precise and bright chord stabs.

The single is taken from the new album 'Endustry', a full body of work encompassing 7 full length cuts, set for release in spring.

After touring and making music for decades the spirit and essential energy of the craft is what keeps them eternally inspired to keep creating and touring the globe... ”Once it takes hold of you you can’t stop even if you wanted to.” say the brothers.

    1. A1. White Groove
    2. A2. Connect To Server
    3. B1. White Groove (Archie Hamilton Remix)

Serge Devant returns to one of his favoured label’s with his White Groove EP, delivering a pair of deep, textured tracks that’ll vitalise any rigid dancefloor. Archie Hamilton makes his Crosstown Rebels debut and supplies a punchy, tripped-out revision of lead track, White Groove.

White Groove is an absorbing mix of rumbling sub bass, soft, textured percussion, and ethereal pads. Loose percussion and a tough kick carve out the initial vibe on Connect To Server. A hypnotising, low-riding synth is the final layer and helps generate even more groove into this peak time roller.

Archie Hamilton switches up White Groove, revising the bassline into a buzzing, forward pushing rhythm but retains the mystical feel of the original, bolstering the whirring pads and using intricate percussive sounds and FX.

Serge Devant hails from Brooklyn, New York and released his seminal track Fearing Love in 2015 on Emerald City. Since then he’s been championed by Damian Lazarus, a firm favourite on both Crosstown Rebels and Rebellion, whilst also receiving plaudits for his releases on Knee Deep In Sound and Circus Recordings. Moscow Records, Moss.Co and Arkityp owner Archie Hamilton is one of the UK’s most promising talents, consistently releasing high quality house and techno on the likes of Get Physical, Fuse London, 2020 Vision, Fear of Flying among others.

Producer and vocalist Kevin Knapp delivers his killer new single Blah Blah Blah, returning to the Hot Creations fold after last years vocal feature on Jamie Jones’ Positive Pressure. Here, Jamie returns the favour, partnering with another label favourite, Detlef, to supply a monster of a remix.

Finding time in his hectic schedule of touring the world, running various record labels and his Paradise parties, Jamie Jones teams up with one of his Paradise residents Detlef to deliver an audacious remix, perfect for the twilight hours. Hardy percussion, acid blips and pulses meld together to form a bolshy, no-frills remix. Greek artist Detlef shot into the limelight in recent years with releases and remixes on labels like Hot Creations, Relief, Knee Deep In Sound, Moon Harbour, and Defected.

Kevin Knapp gained attention with a string collaborations with Audiojack (Gruuv, 2012), Matt Tolfrey (Leftroom, 2012) and his debut Hot Creations cut with Richy Ahmed (2013). A prolific producer and featured vocalist since 2011, Kevin has released on the likes of Hottrax, Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird, Mother Recordings and more.

    1. A1. Take The Throne
    2. A2. Decorum
    3. B1. Nameless Midnight
    4. B2. Subtle Flex

American producer Dustin Zahn readies the next release on Rekids Special Projects this April with four vigorous cuts entitled ‘Take The Throne’.

Dustin Zahn has been flying the techno flag for two decades, releasing on labels like Rekids when not helming the Berlin-based Enemy Records, a label which has released music from artists like fellow US techno stalwart Ambivalent, ARTS boss Emmanuel, and Innervisions' producer Yotam Avni. Zahn is also respected for Train Wrecks, his weekly podcast series inviting members of the house and techno community to discuss a wide variety of music and industry related topics and stories.

The release opens with the thumping kicks and sci-fi melodies of ‘Take The Throne’ before rolling into the dubby tones, infectious claps and rattling white noise of ‘Decorum’. The atmospheric ‘Nameless Midnight’ then follows, packed with echoing synths, tantalising effects and a twisted vocal sample that weaves throughout, arriving at the final track ‘Subtle Flex’ where escalating synths meet syncopated percussion.

Collaborating with producers Cassy holds in high regard is the modus operandi of her newly launched label, Kwench Records. Powered by the finesse of US veteran Pete Moss, the fourth EP dips the imprint into a slicker, more sensual side to house music. And adding fire to the flame is the legendary Ron Trent, who completes the release with a scorching ten-minute remix.

Cassy launched Kwench Records with a burning appetite to create house music with esteemed producers whose careers could be defined by their eagerness to experiment. With her championing Moss’s and Trent’s productions for years, she approached the fourth release confident that their collaborative material would be dynamite.

Cassy, among hundreds of her peers in the dance music sphere, has been an ardent admirer of Chicago house hero Ron Trent for years. With a huge back catalogue dating back to 1990 it’s safe to say he holds a special place within dance music.

    2. A2. Aggression (Original Mix)
    3. B1. Heartthrob - Signs (Thrill Cosby Remix)
    4. B2. Stefan Tretau - Chittagong (Seth Troxler Remix)

The inimitable Seth Troxler is next up on his own influential label with something of a milestone release: His ‘Finally Physical EP’ is a precursor to a compilation album, ‘This Is Then’, due in May this year.

‘This Is Then’ will be a typically unique celebration of Seth’s 10 years as a major force in the Europe underground scene. It will draw a line in the sand on the first part of the Michigan born artist’s recording career before he embarks on the next chapter. This preceding EP features four productions that were never properly released and they serve as a taster to the forthcoming compilation, with two originals and two remixes, one of which comes under Seth’s lesser used alias, Thrill Cosby.

Up first is the brilliant ‘Blackclap’, which was used by Audion on his fabric mix in 2006. It’s a twisted techno bumper with hiccuping synths and skewed pads bleeding out from a tightly programmed drum line. Warm chord smears bring a sense of soul to the druggy groove and ensure this one will work as well in an intimate club as it would on a larger stage. The deliciously dark ‘Aggression’ is a freaky late-night cut with minimal drums and alien lifeforms scurrying all over. It’s trippy and otherworldy, with a rubbery groove carrying you deeper down the rabbit hole through a wonderfully weird spectrum of sound.

On the flip is a Thrill Cosby remix of Hearthrob’s ‘Signs’ which Seth included on his Boogybytes mix from 2010. A pressure cooker of white noise, whispers, synth drones and tension building sequences it eventually breaks into a supple and slippery groove that makes you want to pop your body. Last but not least is the skeletal techno funk of Stefan Tretau’s ‘Chittagong’ (Seth Troxler Jack Moves Remix). It’s synthetic and abstract, with watery droplets and coarse claps wrapping round the restless drum line.

Inventive and original throughout, these four blistering tracks prove Seth Troxler has always had his own unique studio sound and serve as a great teaser for the upcoming compilation.

    1. A. Walay (My Bae)
    2. B. Raw Nerve

Our boss Claude VonStroke is the busiest guy we know. When he’s not traveling the world or curating an event, he’s in the studio every day putting in hours upon hours, relentless in perfecting his craft. He’s had a slew of hits the past couple years in the form of remixes and collaborations, and now with the “Walay (My Bae)” EP, Claude gets back to some inventive and somewhat “out of the box” solo works.

The title song leads with a melodic riff and an funky vocal that sounds like a defective cyborg is proclaiming love for his partner, “Walay.” This quasi-human uses the slang “My Bae” to try and pass for human and we almost believe in his passion. The sound harkens back to old classic rave tracks but also pushes very modern production techniques.

On the flip, “Raw Nerve” is an emotional exploration in both sounds and lyrics. A melancholy VonStroke dives deep into his insecurities and fears with sonically mutated lyrics like “I’m feeling so sad, I’m feeling real bad today. When I see you on the street I dont want to compete.” You can feel the social instability oozing out of the vocal only to come back at the close with a violently hard bassline embodying the personal angst and frustration that goes along with not “fitting in.”

Yoruba Records is ecstatic to welcome back Hallex M with our latest release, the ‘Oggun EP’. Kicking off with the title track, Carlos Mena lends his voice to give praise to Oggun, the warrior-protector Orisha, in this low end heavy and celebratory groove. Slowing things down a bit, ‘Lhasa’ is a more subtle and relaxing cut, teasing you with a beautiful piano melody and funky bassline. Nickodemus gets to work with his remix of the title track ‘Oggun’. Giving this a treatment with a thick and stubby bass, this mix takes things to a deeper territory appreciated by discerning dancefloors. We round out the EP with ‘Show You The World’, a laid-back love song featuring the warm and inviting vocals of Gabriele Poso. Once again Hallex shows his prowess in crafting emotionally intelligent dancefloor tunes; we hope you enjoy these as much as we have enjoyed bringing them to you!

He dropped by again last summer as one of the tracks on our annual Summer Sampler release with “Venus“. It rocked the Beatport Deep House chart for months. Continuing in that vein we find two wonky fun summery house tunes with rolling grooves, tinkling pianos, glassy sounds and memorable melodies…which is fun to say by the way...go on, say it.

Say it out loud right now on your plane journey, in the coffee shop, hotel room or in bed with your cat… Words and music to make you smile.

Losoul returns to action with his first long player in almost ten years, and delivers a stunning collection of compositions for the Hypercolour released “Island Time”.

Otherwise known as Peter Kremeier, the German producer has mesmerized us for many years with his organic and emotive house music, largely released on the influential Playhouse label, but of late has seen him release singles for Karat and Tardis Records, as well as his very own Another Picture label.

Fans of Losoul won’t be disappointed, as a diverse yet utterly familiar sound aesthetic pours out over the album’s seven tracks in his own inimitable style. The jazzy broken beats of “Gold Tooth” shine with their micro-sample chops, whilst “Mean Time” is a dense and dubby slow stomp, teasing the drums with space echo and injecting sparse bass work where it matters. Inventive, spongy house grooves are delivered on “Boppin Lower” and “Square Down Smoother” whilst the album closer, “Lava In You” is a master class in ambient sonics and shimmering keys over a lo-fi swinging groove.

It’s been over 20 years since Losoul’s signature single “Open Door”, and the German producer continues to pour out honest and rewarding music.

They forged a new direction for dance music with a string of vinyl releases by Hawke, God Within, Little Wing and Rabbit In The Moon, culminating in the seminal compilation Delusions Of Grandeur released in 1995. Delusions Of Grandeur made the Billboard Dance charts, went to #1 on the Rolling Stone Alternative Album chart and launched the international DJ/production careers of the Hardkiss brothers.

In 2018 to celebrate the 20th anniversary, the album was remastered and re-released with this new vinyl.

A year after the heartbreaking loss of “brother” Scott Hardkiss, Gavin and Robbie Hardkiss release 1991 which was described by Magnetic Magazine as “a throwback to that heady time as well as a timely loop into the future.” Reunited in the Bay Area in 2010, Gavin and Robbie produced an album that stands tall in the often repetitive world of electronic dance music. Named for the year the Hardkiss collective was formed, 1991 references the sounds and sentiments of their early rave days while exploring new funk and pseudo pop directions.

Real “House” Music created by the founder of House Music Frankie Knuckles for WBMX June 25, 1986. (A & B).

Back in August 2017, Jerome Derradji received a call by one of Chicago’s most renowned record dealer.
It went like this: “Hey Jerome, I’ve got all these reel to reel tapes of Chicago House stuff. You want to take a look?”
Less than 24 hours later, more than 160 reels were purchased and safely hauled back to the Still Music office and Jerome got to work.
In fact, these reels - that were lost for more than 20 years - contain some incredible stuff that we’ll be releasing in the years to come but right now it’s time to Jack!

Around 50 of these tapes are Dj Mixes that were broadcasted on WGCI and WBMX in the mid to late eighties mostly with the Hot Mix 5.

So Jerome decided to start a series of cassettes titled JACK to share the absolute greatness of these mixes (and to raise enough funds to finance the transfer and licensing of the more crazy stuff that’s in the stack of reels)

Here is our first series with mixes from Frankie Knuckles, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Chicago mystery - Devastating Daryl and a few “unknown” mixes that were too essential to skip.

These mixes were played on the radio only once and were lost until today. This series is an absolute window back to the heydays of Chicago House music.

All the mixes were professionally transferred and remastered to the best of our abilities.
