Mak & Pasteman return to their label Materials with a 3 track EP that explores Techno & dark textures to new depths.

"The Whale" incorporates our love of dark twisted bass textures and driving analogue drums. Whale like noises and cinematic spoken word samples create suspense before unleashing a deep set grinding rhythm filled with twists, turns and atmospheric shots.

“Runout” see’s us getting outright sinister, Pairing a twisted serial killer sample with complex textures and raw edgy drums. We like the darker side of music at times and this track gives us the chance to explore our moodier side. Mostly made with our Dave Smith gear we wanted to capture the raw gritty edge of these machines.

“Artifacts” the final track off the EP doesn’t let up, this is warehouse techno with militant attitude, dark vocals, suspense like strings and a vibrating analogue bass tones. Creating a track with rich industrial textures and sparse pulsing drum work.
