A feisty and sassy slab of funky house from Amsterdam upstarts Makez, Elevation is twirl of saucy tracks with a toothy demeanor that will charm you onto the dance floor. The special sauce here comes from a musicality that's studied but not too clean and a bright instrumentation that evokes the golden years of Metro Area.

“Melting” is slinky post-disco for gilded, glammy digs; “Elevation” is a lightheaded pas de deux; “One 4 the Dreamers” is a rolling late-night creeper with a tickle of jazz; and “Merlot,” which features Alternative Tone Adjustment on keys, is a chunky strut down the catwalk.
