Mario Basanov is one of the most highly gifted and versatile producers rising up through ranks of electronic music. With a staggering ten years production experience that belies his young age, Mario is as comfortable remixing major label acts as he is crafting his beguiling deep disco / house sound. A number of unforgettable tracks have been unleashed over the past couple of years including ‘Caribbean Girl’, ‘Do You Remember?’ and ‘Up’.
Mario Basanov returns on Needwant to showcase his vocal talents for the first time with ‘Lonely days’. The studio master from Lithuania delivers the ultimate serotonin boosting package, decked out with remixes from Drop Out Orchestra and Downtown Party Network.
The original version of ‘Lonely Days’ is a beautifully arranged slice of summery cosmic disco with pop sensibilities. Mario’s uplifting vocals sit on top of a floating melody that gradually builds to a blissful rolling disco breakdown. On the ‘Plate Dub’, the tempo slows to make way for an expansive piano led electronica journey that’s the perfect track to accompany a lazy summer day. Hailing from Sweden, Drop Out Orchestra have already inspired quite a following with a string of top remixes under their belts. Here they send electric disco pulses through the original and rework it into a tropical inspired percussion piece with a guitar riff fuelled by a funk bassline. In the final remix, Downtown Party Network provide a dubby workout that warps the original into a chugging disco groove and turns the vocal ethereal. Adding another string to his bow with ‘Lonely Days’, the multi-talented Mr. Basanov is heading for a neon bright future.
