Paula Temple resurfaces on R&S with the dramatic Deathvox EP. Following last year’s Colonized EP, the Berlin-based producer continues to pursue her unique sound aesthetics, but opts for a less aggressive approach. Her productions are coarse, yet don’t lack a bit of elegance: the galloping drum pattern of ‘Deathvox’ gracefully emerges from a sea of shrieking synths, evoking tribal associations. The immersive B-side’s title ‘Ful’ is a reference to the eponymous Swedish art group, known for criticising EU border policies, transcending the EP’s sphere of influence.
