Whippin Records welcome RENKO for a fantastic new Ep that features two of his slick originals and remix from Il Faces.

RENKO is a mysterious artist about which nothing much is known about him apart from the sheer quality of his music, which he has shown emphatically recently on labels like Hottrax, Solid Grooves Raw and Deeperfect, and has built up a firm following of DJs and dancers as a result.

He impresses again here with opener Sleepless which is a slick and serene late night Ibizan vibe, with soulful pads and clean, crisp drums and melodies all soothing you as they seduce you. It’s a different sound from the label and begins to showcase the labels variety and taste.

Run It Back follows, and is a busy and bristling house tune with shooting synths, busy vocal loops and a sense of energy that will get any floor moving.

Il Faces are Parisian pair Ben Weiss & Saull who are regulars in Ibiza. Their remix of Run It Back is all about the fluttering snares and floating drum grooves that carry you away into the night.
