Another slamming rarity from the misty, heady days of the earliest 1990's, coming out of Chicago's underground on Steve Poindexter's cult Chicago Bad Boys imprint "Power Move" pulls no punches! If you dig that demented, raw, about to come off the tracks Chicago ghetto style House then Ricky Smith is your man! This is a truly rare EP & now it is back again, with a full re-issue complete with all original Chicago Bad Boys artwork & a full re-master!
Over 5 cuts Smith lays down some seriously twisted rhythms of varying tempos akin to some of the more left-field Gherkin Jerks stuff, or similar to some of Ron Hardy's early productions & of course a project like this that is overseen by the great Steve P will undoubtedly have some of his sonic influence in the mix too! Overall you're being treated to a snapshot of some totally off the grid Chi-town jackers, essential for those of you who like to pull a sharp left hand turn when driving the dance-floor! Only for the fans of the raw!
"Power Move" has been re-mastered, re-pressed & re-released for 2015 with the full permission & participation of Steve Poindexter / Chicago Bad Boys Productions, Chicago IL, USA.
