Riz MC has won over the hearts and minds of worldwide music lovers with his original and fresh debut EP, ‘Radar’, on Crosstown Rebels. To further feed the appetites comes a remix package from X-Press 2 founder, Ashley Beedle, and UK dubstep champion, Sukh Knight. Each step forward with their interpretation on one of the most exciting artists to emerge from the UK underground scene.

‘Radar’ is about drowning in information and our tendency to pigeon-hole and stereotype all that surrounds us. The original version produced by Lazersonic (Air Recordings) experimented with a bold new sound for an MC and this remix package also peers into new worlds. Ashley Beedle delivers a vox and dub (available on digital release only), both epic constructions filled with delicious string-led riffs inching up in intensity. Certain to make hairs to stand on end, Beedle’s reworkings puts the track into a brand new context.

Riz MC has gained much recognition and acceptance across the dubstep scene that is exploding across the UK. His originality and forward-thinking attitude parallels with the culture and has inspired a remix from Sukh Knight, one of dubstep’s young pioneers. The result is a bass-driven classic, futuristic and instantly likeable with support already on BBC 1Xtra, Kiss FM and XFM.

Riz MC is Crosstown Rebels’ newest recruit, his first release ‘Radar’ was championed by BBC 6Music, XFM, The Guardian newspaper, The Fadar USA and audiences worldwide. His sound is versatile and pushes the borders of where previous MCs have gone, sounding more appealing and unique with each listen. An Oxford graduate with a diverse musical palette, his inspiring live shows have gathered him a fanbase including the likes of Nitin Sawney, Massive Attack, Dizzee Rascal and Billy Bragg, who have all asked him to play alongside them.

The video for ‘Radar’  shot by up-and-coming filmmaker Lily Smith is available to view at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hN7r3xM561k and will be followed by a behind-the-scenes Rebel Rave film of its creation.

Riz’s talent also stretches into the acting world, where he has been nominated in the British Independent Film Awards for Best Actor - up against Colin Farell - for his lead role in ‘Shifty’ out next year. ‘Britz’, Peter Kosminsky’s BAFTA-winning mini-drama that Riz stars in has also been nominated for an Emmy and is about to air on BBC America to coincide with his live dates stateside. With a second EP and album is due on Crosstown Rebels from Riz MC next year, there is a lot more raw, uncensored talent to come.
