SALES NOTES

Pulling together the freshest of releases, Defected are proud to present the first in a number of label samplers. Volume one here featuring Tensnake ‘Mainline’ and Flashmob ‘Hot’.

Tensnake ‘Main Line’:

Despite having a relatively small number of releases and remixes to his name, Tensnake’s output belies his immense reputation. An undoubted proponent of the quality-over-quantity mantra, his sound is as instantly recognisable as it is infectious. ‘Mainline’ is a hooky, bass-driven house anthem of the very highest order, and features the assured vocal performance from the acclaimed Rudimental collaborator and Radio 1 Xtra favourite Syron. ‘Mainline’ is a positive and worthy reimagining of the ‘glory days’ of house music. With its feel-good, retro house stylings and assured vocal performance, the new release from Tensnake looks set to be as big as its feline predecessor.

Flashmob ‘Hot’:

Following on from their roaring success ‘Need In Me’, crowned as one of Pete Tong’s essential new tunes earlier this year, Italian duo Flashmob are set to cause quite a stir again, warming things up for the Winter with their forthcoming release ‘Hot’. The energising swing like beat is sure to get temperatures rising whilst the down tempo  bass line and classically flirtatious vocals will no doubt coax you on to the dance floor, strutting your stuff and clapping those hands. Another solid production on Defected from the Milanese twosome, proving their back-to-basics ethos does in no way compromise skill, talent or innovation.
