Two giants in dance music, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (aka TEED) & Eats Everything, join forces for a beast of a release on Crosstown Rebels. The exclusive track on the forthcoming Get Lost VI mixed by TEED, ‘Lion, The Lion’ is a ferocious dance-floor destroyer with a crackling, tough exterior pierced by rave FX and suspended by deeper elements creeping into the mix. Remixes come courtesy of Dutch producer and 4Lux boss, Gerd, who turns in a more swinging and suitably bass heavy Sub-Tech Mix with added synth-line as well as a Deep Dub version.
TEED and Eats Everything have a kindred musical mindset, both with their own powerful and full-bodied brand of stomping party music and a mutual affection for early jungle and drum ‘n’ bass. Eats has already remixed TEED’s ‘Tapes & Money’ and after getting introduced by mutual friends, TEED ended up in Eats’ studio for two days back in December laying down ‘Lion, The Lion’, which then featured on Eats Everything’s latest BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
NME named TEED “One of the UK’s most exciting young producers” when he delivered his debut electronic album, ‘Trouble’ in 2012. Awarded #1 Electronic Breakthrough Album Of The Year by iTunes, album of the year in DJ Mag, it received critical acclaim in multiple end of year charts. Get Lost VI mixed by TEED will be released on Crosstown Rebels, 8th July. After remixing Foals at the start of the year, there are now a series of collaborations forthcoming this summer. Orlando has also produced ‘Warm Waters’ by Banks (Hype Machine No.1).
Winning the Best Of British DJ Mag award in 2012 and gaining the highest new entry in the RA DJ poll at #13, Eats Everything has smashed into the big league both on the DJ and production front. With massive releases on Dirtybird, Pets Recordings and Futureboogie, Eats has recently completed the Edible Tour, will tour the U.S three times this year and has just remixed the legendary Nile Rodgers for the IMS.
