Weska returns with a release via his own platform, with two killer tracks, ‘EQ24’ and ‘Rainbow Eucalyptus’ rounds off a spectacular year for the young Canadian. Recently he was signed to Drumcode with a massive collaboration EP with mentor and friend Bart Skills, after years of grafting a career with music signed to a selection of top labels. This year he’s traveled the globe with gigs in Australia, Canada, South America, and all over Europe ,and appearing as part of the mighty Drumcode showcases, he is one to watch for 2020. Being the first on his own platform, Weska looks to carve out his own path. He plans to take you on a journey with a selection of music that he’s created over the past year. To him, this series represents the ‘First Wave ’of four that he hopes you will ride along with him.“ Over the years you make a ton of music that rarely sees the light of day. This was my way of sharing that music with all of you, giving you the chance to hear it, play it, but most importantly connect with it in someway ”. To him, the series of releases represents something much more than just any release. ‘EQ24’ is a solid peaktime monster. Pounding kick drums and rubbery off beat bass rubble away as grimy synths offer glimpses of melody. After the drop, echoed vocals ricochet around the sound space adding to the dystopian feels. Subtly tribal from the off, acidic synth energy adds an analog warm that ainst the cold cymbals and sandy shakers asicy pads create a sound track vibe.In the break, the acidreally gets going and all bets are off.
